Abstract

The gutter cleaning kit consists of three elements; a telescopic twist—lock extension pole, gloves and bucket hook. The gutter cleaning tool is a telescopic extension pole with a plate attached to one end of the pole.

[0001] The gutter cleaning kit consists of three elements; the tool, gloves and hook. The tool that is a two-section tubular telescopic-twist-lock extension pole with a specifically designed end. When fully extended, the tool can reach the length of 8 feet long, including the small scrapper plate attached to one end of the pole. The tool is uniquely specifically designed to fit under the ferrules of the gutter. This feature differentiates this tool from other that must be use above the ferrules. The handgrip at the end of the extension provides a non-slip grip for easy maneuverability. The kit is equipped with a pair of long-gauntlet rubber gloves and a bucket hook that can be attached to the pole to provide easy access to a container for debris.

BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0009] This invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning leaves and other debris from overhead building gutters, and more particularly to such apparatus having a plate attached to one end of the pole. Clogging of building gutters with leaves and other debris is a continuing problem. The improper drainage of rainwater from the building's roof, which results from clogged gutters, causes overflowing of the gutter in an undesirable matter. A number of gutter cleaners have been devised to enable the cleaning of overhead building gutters from ground level. Although those devices have served the purpose, they have not proved entirely satisfactory under all conditions of service. For the reason that they are relatively complex in construction and expensive to manufacture and maintain, therefore, an object of the present invention to provide an overhead gutter cleaner of relatively simple construction. Another object is to provide such a cleaner that is easy to operate and to maintain. A further object of the invention is the provision of such an overhead gutter cleaner that is inexpensive to operate and to maintain. Still another object is to provide such an overhead gutter cleaner that is light in weight and can be easily self-contained for storage. Yet another object of the present invention is the provision of such an overhead gutter cleaner which enables the operator to clean up to 22 feet of overhead gutters while standing on a ladder.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION

[0018] The gutter cleaning kit consists of three elements; a telescopic twist—lock extension pole, gloves and buckets hook. The gutter cleaning kit is a device that allows easy cleaning of 20 to 22′ ft. of gutter in one ladder move. The primary tool is a small diameter two-piece adjustable pole with a plate attached to one end of the smallest pole. The tool can easily reach under spikes and straps of gutter for quick removal of debris. And a handgrip on the other end of the pole for easy non-slip griping of the pole.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0029] Consists of an aluminum telescopic twist-lock extension pole that is ⅜″ by ½″ in diameter 4′ long that at fully extended reach 8″ (Item 1).

[0030] With 1½″ wide by 2¾″ long and ⅛″ thick plastic plate screwed to the small pole (Item 4).

[0031] Attached is a 10″ long by ¾″ wide self-adhering strap (Item 5) that allows the user to attach a pair of PVC rubber gloves (Item 6) along with a bucket hook (Item 7) that comes with the kit. And there is a hole in the handle (Item 7) that allows the user to place the tool on a nail in the garage after each use for safe storage.

Claims

1. Is made up of a bucket hook, specially designed pole and gloves; that allows for hanging a bucket on the ladder with the hook to allow for easy access to a container for debris; aids in maintaining clean and safe conditions through rubber long gauntlet gloves and permits extended reach from one ladder position; helping maintain safety through distance from treats of power lines and other hazards. The items and secured together for storage with a special strap attached to the pole for safekeeping of gloves and bucket hook.

2. Contains long-gauntlet rubber gloves to provide sanitary security from debris and scrape-prevention protection for users of the kit and a hook to connect a bucket to the ladder to collect debris and prevent unsanitary mess in the surrounding area.

3. Includes a specially designed pole that allows cleaning as much as 20 to 22′ of gutter cleaning in one ladder move; using extension and plate, it works under spikes and ferrules and straps due to small diameter extension pole and plate that fits under spikes and straps of gutter and leaf guard systems; and fits in all shapes of gutters; is light weight—The weight of the expandable pole makes it easy to control and a multi-position self-locking mechanism allows the tool to be locked at multi-positions from lengths between 4 feet & 8 feet reaches; has a small diameter tubular telescopic extension pole that makes it easy to place tool inside the gutter.
