Description

[0001] The present invention is directed to a fastening device for fastening flat materials to a rod-like structural component part and particularly a fastening device for fastening revolving doors and side walls made of glass, wood or plastic for furniture.

[0002] Revolving doors are fastened to a frame or furniture body by hinges, for example. However, the hinges project from the plane of the door. Therefore, it is impossible to provide a piece of furniture, for example, with a revolving door that terminates in a plane surface with the furniture body.

[0003] EP 1 081 309 A2 describes a device for connecting objects in door, furniture, glass and railing constructions. The fastenings are constructed as invisible connecting elements. This is intended to reduce expenditure on machining in particular. In so doing, a first structural component part of a clamping or screw-type connection is connected to a second structural component part. As soon as the first structural component part is fastened to a body, it is covered by a second structural component part.

[0004] Therefore, it is the object of the present invention to provide a fastening device for fastening doors to a rod-like structural component part, which fastening device is constructed in a simple manner and, in addition to an economical production and mounting, makes it possible to arrange the door or a stationary side part in a plane with the furniture body.

[0005] This object is met by a fastening device having the features of patent claim 1. Advantageous further developments are the subject of the subclaims.

[0006] According to the invention, a fastening device is accordingly provided for fastening doors or other structural component parts to a rod-like structural component part and comprises a clamping device and a holding device. The clamping device has a receiving area for receiving the rod-like structural component part, a flange, and one or more clamping elements. The holding device has a bearing device and a fastening element. The bearing device serves to support the flat structural component part. The holding device is fastened to the flange of the clamping device by means of the fastening element. The rod-like structural component part is clamped in the receiving area by means of the clamping element. According to the invention, a simply constructed fastening device is accordingly provided which is capable particularly of holding and supporting flat materials. At least two through-openings (bore hole) are formed in the flat materials, the bearing device of the holding device being inserted through them. Especially elegant designs for glass doors in particular are made possible by the invention.

[0007] According to a preferred embodiment example of the present invention, the rod-like structural component part is cylindrical and the receiving area of the clamping device is hollow-cylindrical (bushing-shaped) or arc-shaped. By arc-shaped is meant a gutter-like shape in which receiving areas describe a circle segment in section. In this way, the cylindrical structural component part can be securely received and clamped in the receiving area. In an arc-shaped arrangement of the receiving area, the receiving area is preferably shaped in such a way that the receiving area is formed from a circle segment which goes beyond half of the circle. Therefore, the cylindrical structural component part can only be removed from the receiving area in the direction of its longitudinal axis.

[0008] The clamping element is preferably constructed as a stud screw. The rod-like structural component part can accordingly be clamped in the receiving area of the clamping device by means of the stud screw.

[0009] However, it is also possible to introduce a stepped bore hole in the glass door in which the punctiform fitting is then countersunk flush with the surface of the glass. A stepped bore hole of this kind can be cylindrical, but it is also possible that the stepped bore hole has a cylindrical area with an adjoining conical area. An embodiment form of this kind also terminates flush with the surface of the flat material. For the sake of simplicity, the following description will refer only to a glass door, but the invention also includes wood, plastic and metal as flat materials.

[0010] In order to prevent damage to the door, particularly a glass door, a protective cover is advisably provided at the outer circumference of the bearing device of the holding device. The protective cover is preferably formed of plastic. This can prevent stresses on the door.

[0011] The flange of the clamping device is advantageously laterally offset relative to the center axis of the clamping device.

[0012] In order to provide a particularly compact fastening device, the center axis of the clamping device is arranged vertical to the center axis of the holding device.

[0013] The thickness of the holding device in the direction of its center axis preferably corresponds to the thickness of the door. Accordingly, it is possible that the door is arranged directly adjacent to the clamping device and therefore also directly adjacent to the rod-like structural component part. In case of a revolving door, the rod-like structural component part is preferably also formed as an axis of rotation for the revolving door, so that the door can be swiveled around the center axis of the rod-like structural component part.

[0014] In the following, the invention will be described with reference to several embodiment examples which are shown schematically.

[0025] FIG. 11 shows the view according to FIG. 10 from the side.

[0026] In the following, several embodiment examples of a fastening device 1 according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0027] As is shown in FIG. 1, the fastening device 1 according to the invention comprises a clamping device 2 and a holding device 7. The clamping device 2 comprises a receiving area 3 and a flange 4 formed directly adjacent to the latter. The receiving area 3 is formed in a bushing-shaped manner and has a through-opening 6 (see FIG. 3c). The flange 4 is constructed so as to be offset relative to a center axis X-X of the receiving area 3. As is shown particularly in FIG. 1, a first threaded bore hole 15, a second threaded bore hole 16 and a third threaded bore hole 17 are formed in the flange 4.

[0028] The holding device 7 essentially comprises a bearing device 8 and a fastening element 10. The bearing device 8 serves to support a door (not shown), wherein the bearing device 8 is inserted through a through-opening formed in this door. A conical area 11 is also formed at the bearing device 8 next to the cylindrical area. Further, there is a through-opening 9 which receives the fastening element 10. As is shown in FIG. 1, the holding device 7 comprises a protective cover 12 which is arranged around the bearing device 8 and is constructed like the bearing device 8. Further, a washer 13 and a cover 14 are provided.

[0029] As is shown particularly in FIGS. 2a to 2d, the holding device 7 is fastened to the flange 4 of the clamping device 2 by means of the fastening element 10. Accordingly, the holding device 7 is fastened laterally to the clamping device. When a door is held by the fastening device 1 according to the invention, the holding device 7 is inserted through an opening provided in this door, so that the door is arranged directly adjacent to the clamping device 2.

[0030] As is shown in FIG. 4, the clamping device 2 can be fastened to a rod 18 when the door is constructed as a revolving door. For this purpose, as is shown in FIGS. 3b and 3c, clamping elements 5 in the form of stud screws (see FIG. 1) are screwed into the second and third threaded bore hole 16 and 17 until the rod 18 is clamped in the receiving area 3 in the clamping device 2. The rod 18 is supported at both of its ends by a pivot bearing 19, so that the door is supported so as to be swivelable around the center axis of the rod 18.

[0031] The fastening device according to the invention is preferably made of metal, particularly stainless steel. Since the fastening device 1 according to the invention is constructed in a very compact manner, a door can be arranged directly adjacent to the rod 18. When used for a glass door, the protective cover 12 is preferably made of a plastic in order to prevent damage to the glass door.

[0032] A second construction of the fastening device according to the invention is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. In this case, there is a clamping device 2 which has an elongated flange 33 at the side in contrast to the first embodiment of the clamping device. As was already described, the clamping device is fastened to the rod 18 by the clamping element 5. In this case, the rod 18 is constructed as a stationary bar-shaped component and is accordingly suitable, along with the plate-shaped material constructed as side part 30, for realizing a lateral limiting wall. The side part 30 is fastened by a punctiform holding device 7. A washer 13 provided between the side part 30 and the freely projecting flange 33 has, at its side remote of the glass surface, projections or a running ring which engages in a channel 32 of the flange 33. The washer 13 is accordingly fixed at the same time. The holding device 7 is inserted in a step-shaped bore hole inside the pane of the glass. This bore hole has a cylindrical area and a conical area. There is a protective cover 12 of plastic between the holding device 7 and the side part 30 inside the bore hole.

[0033] The frictional and positive engagement between the side part 30 and the flange 33 is achieved by the fastening element 10 which penetrates through the holding device 7 and is anchored in a threaded bore hole inside the flange 33.

[0034] The bearing device 8 and the cover 14 are discussed in FIGS. 7 to 11 for a fuller understanding.

[0035] The embodiment example of FIG. 7 shows a front view of a bearing device 8. The bearing device 8 was produced as a round structural component part. In a side view of FIG. 7, FIG. 8 shows the bearing device 8 again in section. The bearing device 8 has a cylindrical area 21 which passes into a conical area 11. The largest diameter of the conical area 11 terminates at an outer surface 34 which is penetrated by a pocket bore hole 23. A through-hole, preferably in the form of an elongated hole 22, is located in the base of the pocket bore hole 23 in order to enter into a connection between the flange 33 or flange 4 of the clamping device using the fastening element 10. Inside the bearing device 8, an undercut 24 adjoins the outer surface 34. The undercut 24 serves to receive a spring element which is embedded in an annular groove 27 of the cover 14. Recesses 26 are introduced in the front side of the cover 14. By means of the spring element, it is possible to remove the cover 14 from the bearing device without destruction.

[0036] FIGS. 10 and 11 show a second embodiment example of a bearing device 20. The outer construction of the bearing device 20 is the same as that of bearing device 8. However, a threaded projection 29 which serves for fastening to the flange 4 and 33 adjoins the cylindrical area 21. Recesses 28 to which a tool can be applied are introduced at the outer surface 34 for rotation of the bearing device 20.

[0037] Accordingly, the present invention is directed to a fastening device 1 for fastening doors and side parts with a clamping device 2 and a holding device 7. The clamping device 2 comprises a receiving area 3, a flange 4, 33 and at least one clamping element 5. The holding device 7 comprises at least one bearing device 8, 20 and a fastening element 10. The holding device 7 is fastened to the clamping device 2 by means of the fastening element 10 and serves for supporting and fastening.

[0038] The preceding description of the embodiment examples according to the present invention is used for purposes of illustration and is not intended to limit the invention. Various changes and modifications are possible within the framework of the invention without departing from the invention or its equivalents.
