Elevational adjusting device using air pressure rod to lift object
An elevational adjusting device using an air pressure rod to lift an object is disclosed. A connector is used to connect the object with the air pressure rod. The adjusting device comprises an operating rod fixed to the object to be adjusted; a rope; and a movable plate pivotally connected to the connector. The pull end and the pressure applied end of the movable plate are not at the same line. It is only necessary to rotate the operating rod, the rope will be pulled to drive the pressure applied end of the movable plate to touch a touch moving end of the movable plate of the air pressure rod, causing the air pressure rod to move telescopically to drive the object to move upwards or downwards so as to adjust the position of the object.
[0001] The present invention relates to an elevational adjusting device, and particularly to an elevational adjusting device using an air pressure rod to lift an object, wherein a simple device is used to touch and move an air pressure rod so as to adjust the elevation of an object.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002] Many objects (such as tables, chairs, etc.) are connected to air pressure rod. The elevations of these objects are adjusted by touching the air pressure rod to telescopically move. Referring to FIG. 1, a prior art air pressure rod 10 is illustrated, which is used to adjust the height of a table 11. Generally, the air pressure rod 10 is fixed between a table plate 12 and the table legs 13. Generally, an operating rod 14 is installed near a touch moving end 101 of the air pressure rod 10. By moving the operating rod 14, the touch moving end 101 of the air pressure rod 10 is moved so as to control the telescopic movement of the air pressure rod 10.
[0003] Although above way for controlling the telescopic movement of the air pressure rod 10 by using the operating rod 14 is general and is an acceptable way, the operating rod 14 has generally a fixed shape and is confined by assembly ways. For example, to install the operating rod 14 near the air pressure rod 10, if the table plate 12 is too large, the user's hand must extend to the operating rod 14 for operating the operating rod 14. However, the operation is inconvenient. Thereby, an extendable supporting frame 141 is designed for moving the operating rod 14 to the outer side of the table plate 12 for being operated conveniently. The sizes of the table plate 14 are not uniform, and thus the size of the operating rods 14 must be changed (generally, the size of operating rods is specific). As a result, manufacturing cost and time will be increased and thus the efficiency is low.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION[0004] Accordingly, the primary object of the present invention is to provide an elevational adjusting device, wherein a simple device is used to touch and move an air pressure rod so as to adjust the elevation of an object.
[0005] To achieve above object, the present invention provide an elevational adjusting device using an air pressure rod to lift an object. A connector is used to connect the object with the air pressure rod. The adjusting device comprises an operating rod fixed to the object to be adjusted; a rope having one end connected to the operating rod and another end of the rope connected to a movable plate; and a movable plate pivotally connected to the connector. The movable plate is rotatable. The movable plate has at least one pull end and one pressure applied end. The pull end is connected to the rope and the pressure applied end is near a telescopic end of the air pressure rod. The pull end and the pressure applied end are not at the same line.
[0006] It is only necessary to rotate the operating rod, the rope will be pulled to drive the pressure applied end of the movable plate to touch a touch moving end of the movable plate of the air pressure rod, causing the air pressure rod to be telescopic to drive the object to move upwards or downwards so as to adjust the position of the object.
[0007] The various objects and advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood from the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the appended drawing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS[0015] Referring to FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, the operation device of the present invention comprises the following components.
[0016] An operating rod 20 is fixed to an object to be adjusted. In this embodiment, the object is a table 5.
[0017] A rope 30 has one end connected to an operating rod 20 and another end of the rope 30 is connected to a movable plate 40.
[0018] A movable plate 40 has a pull end 41 and a pressure applied end 42. The pull end 41 is connected to the rope 30 and the pressure applied end 42 is near a telescopic end 51 of the air pressure rod 50. The pull end 41 and the pressure applied end 42 are not at the same line.
[0019] As shown in the figures, the main portion of the operating rod 20 is enclosed within a box 21. The exposed portion of the operating rod 20 is an operating handle 22. The box 21 serves to fix the handle 22 to any position of the table 5.
[0020] One side 211 of the box 21 is opened so that the operating rod 20 may move easily. In this embodiment, the end of the operating rod 20 connected to the rope 30 has a line weight 201 which is pivotally connected to the box 21 through a shaft 202, thereby, the operating rod 20 may rotate and displace.
[0021] Besides, one side of the box 21, i.e., the exposed side of the operating handle 22, has a slot 212 so that the operating handle 22 may move within the range of the slot 212. In this embodiment, the operating handle 22 moves transversally. At the distal end that the operating handle moves, a positioning hole 213 is formed. The positioning hole 213 is perpendicular to a slot 212 so that after the operating rod 20 pulls the rope 30, the operating rod 20 can be positioned in the positioning hole 213 (referring to FIG. 5)
[0022] The movable plate 40 is pivotally connected to the connector 52 of the table 5 by a retaining plate 43 between the pull end 41 and the pressure applied end 42. The connector serves to connect the table 5 and the air pressure rod 50. The connector 52 in the drawing is a sheet which may have a retaining piece 521 at position with respect to the retaining plate 43. A pin 53 serves to connect the retaining plate 43 with the retaining piece 521, thereby, the movable plate 40 being movable upwards and downwards. Since the pull end 41 of the movable plate 40 is connected to the rope 30, only if the rope 30 is pulled, the pressure applied end 42 of the movable plate 40 will swing downwards to touch the touch moving end 51 of the air pressure rod 50.
[0023] In above description, the force of the rope 30 to pull the movable plate 40 is uniform and smooth, a bottom of the pull end 41 of the movable plate 40 is installed with a round supporting seat 411. When the rope 30 passes through the pull end 41, it is connected to a stopper 301 so as to confine the rope 30. Preferable, the stopper 301 has a ball shape or a cylindrical shape.
[0024] With reference to FIGS. 6 and 7, the application of the present invention is illustrated. In these two drawings, to be easily understood the interaction of the operating rod 20 and the movable plate 40, the air pressure rod 50, table 5, and movable plate 40 are presented by a front view, and the operating rod 20 is fixed to a bottom of the table 5, which is an elevational cross section view.
[0025] Referring to FIG. 7, it is illustrated that the operating handle 22 of the operating rod 20 is moved transversally to the positioning hole 213 of the box 21 so that the rope 30 is pulled and the pressure applied end 42 of the movable plate 40 will touch and move the touch moving end 51 of the air pressure rod 50. Thereby, the air pressure rod 50 will move telescopically to drive the connected table 5 to move upwards and downwards.
[0026] Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, it will be understood that the invention is not limited to the details described thereof. Various substitutions and modifications have been suggested in the foregoing description, and others will occur to those of ordinary skill in the art. Therefore, all such substitutions and modifications are intended to be embraced within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
