Abstract

An article of jewelry for someone with a pierced tongue that includes a dispenser for candy, pharmaceuticals, oral hygiene products. In one embodiment a separate container for liquid or powder can be attached to the article of jewelry for dispensing against the user's tongue.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

[0002] This invention relates generally to an article of jewelry for adorning a human being and specifically to jewelry known as body piercing jewelry specifically for the tongue.

[0004] The attachment of articles of jewelry through piercing of body parts, such as pierced ears, has been well known for many years. The use of pierced ear jewelry has been a world wide fashion phenomenon for many years. In recent years, other parts of the body, such as the tongue, the navel and genital areas have also become pierced for adornment with jewelry articles. One of the articles of jewelry that has become fashionable is a small ring that is attached to a user's tongue, through piercing.

[0005] The present invention provides a practical application for an article of jewelry that uses piercing for mounting the article of jewelry on a tongue to include a practical utility such as the dispensing of candy, vitamins or other desirable stimulants. The article could be useful for providing breath mints, in lieu of a breath spray or to refresh one's mouth with different flavors. The present invention could also be used to dispense medicine in a time-release fashion.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

[0006] A jewelry dispenser for dispensing candies, pharmaceutical products, medicines or breath enhancements, or products for oral hygiene comprising, a rigid shaft, sized to fit between the opposite sides of a human tongue, and having threaded fastener ends at each end, a rigid, spherical base having a threaded aperture that allows it to be fastened to one end of said rigid shaft, a rigid housing having an aperture that includes threads for attachment to said shaft and a second passage or chamber for receiving a product to be dispensed when attached to the tongue such as candy or other suitable product. In the example of candy, typically cylindrically shaped piece of candy, rounded on each end, that is hard enough to fit rigidly in said housing chamber or preferably fit through the housing chamber so that the candy is mounted within the chamber and received on both sides of the chamber in contact with the tongue which allows the harden candy to become liquefied and consumed by the user when the article of jewelry is in place in the tongue.

[0007] To use the article of jewelry as a candy dispenser, the user would remove the article of jewelry from the tongue by unfastening or unscrewing the base from the shaft and removing the housing from the mouth. An article of candy would then be inserted into the housing passageway, preferably in a symmetrical relationship so that the same amount of candy approximately is projecting from each side of the housing chamber. The shaft is then placed again through the tongue at the area where the tongue has been pierced and the base fashioned to the shaft so that the entire article of jewelry is now firmly attached to the tongue and the candy is in contact with the tongue. Over a period of time, saliva and the heat of the tongue surface will cause the candy to slowly dissolve and be dispensed into the user's mouth.

[0008] In lieu of candy, some other desirable dispensable pharmaceutical or oral hygiene product may be used. The article would be shaped like the candy in a cylindrical or rigid fashion.

[0009] Another embodiment of the invention, a second cylindrical tube having a plurality of holes could be mounted in lieu of the candy that contains a liquid or semi-liquid product therein that would slowly be dispensed through small apertures in the liquid holder.

[0010] It is an object of this invention to provide a tongue dispenser for dispensing candy, pharmaceuticals, oral hygiene products or other stimulants to the body.

[0011] In yet another object of this invention is to provide an article of jewelry that has a practical function that includes the dispensing of a desirable product within a mouth with the article of jewelry being attached to the tongue.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0018] Referring now to the drawings, the present invention is showed installed in a human tongue 20 that shows the housing chamber 16 in which an article of candy 18 or other pharmaceutical or oral hygiene product in a rigid form is mounted as a candy cylinder 18 through a chamber in housing 16. As shown in FIG. 1, this would be the operating posture of the invention with the user's mouth closed saliva and the body temperature of the tongue would cause candy 18 to dissolve slowly and be dispensed slowly into the user's mouth. Note, when the candy has been dispensed and is finished, the article of jewelry will still remain in the user's mouth since it is affixed at both ends of the shaft as an article of jewelry.

[0019] Referring now to FIGS. 2 and 3, the structure of the invention is shown. The invention 10 is comprised of a rigid metal or plastic shaft 12 that is sized in length to pass through a pierced area or a pierced hole in a user's tongue. Each end of shaft 12 includes threaded portions 12a and 12b. A base member 14 is a rigid sphere having a cylindrical threaded chamber 14a that is used to fasten to threads 12a on the shaft, which operates when screwed together to hold the shaft 12 in the tongue. The spherical base 14 is larger in diameter than the pierced hole in the user's tongue.

[0020] A spherical housing 16 includes a passageway 16 all the way through it and a small threaded cylindrical aperture 16b shown dotted. The housing 16 attaches threadably to the threaded end 12b of shaft 12 in the operational position in aperture 16b which provides for attachment of the article of jewelry to the user's tongue 20. With the base 14 threadably screwed on to shaft 12 and with the shaft 12 placed through the tongue of the user 20, and the housing 16 threadably attached to shaft end 12b in place, on the user's tongue, this would be the normal wearing and dispensing position of the jewelry. Thus, housing 16 could provide many different shapes as an article of jewelry. When the user wishes to dispense a meltable product on the user's tongue, then the article, such as a cylindrical piece of candy 18 is inserted through passageway 16a in housing 16. This could be done before attachment to the tongue of the entire article of jewelry or while in place on the user's tongue. As shown in FIG. 1, the candy 18 would then be dispensed with the user's mouth closed, through the interaction of saliva and body temperature melting the product 18.

[0021] The candy product 18 could be some other suitable pharmaceutical product in a hardened form that can dissolve, that includes a breath refreshing product, a medical product, an energy product, or other desirable pharmaceutical or food supplement. High energy food or sugar could be dispensed as a shaped article such as 18.

[0022] The housing 16 although shown as a sphere with a cylindrical passageway 16a all the way through could take other shapes and include other passageway or holders for retaining the desirable candy or food stuff product 18. The food product itself could also be a different shape as long as it can be attached to the housing 16.

[0023] In an alternate embodiment of the invention as shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, the candy or liquid or powder dispenser 24 is basically a spherical object that can be threadably detached into two separate sections 24a and 24b and is itself a threadably attached to shaft 12 through a threadable connector 26 in the base of sphere 24b. The upper hemisphere 24a may include a plurality of holes 28 which are used to dispense a liquid or powder through the interaction with saliva from one's tongue into one's mouth. To load the alternate embodiment shown in FIG. 4A, the two hemispheres 24a and 24b are separated and a powder or liquid placed in the lower hemisphere 24b. The upper hemisphere 24a is then screwed onto the lower hemisphere 24b and the entire unit may be placed through one's tongue. The device could also be loaded while the shaft 12 the base 14 and the lower hemisphere 24b remain intact in place through the user's tongue. FIG. 4B shows container 24 connected to shaft 12 by threaded passage 16 in the dispensing position.

[0024] Using either embodiment of the invention, a hardened, liquid or meltable product can be dispensed on a user's tongue which also functions as an article of jewelry for the user with a pierced tongue. Furthermore, liquids or powders could be dispensed from container 24 which also could take different shapes for containing a liquid or a powder that can be dispensed through the article of jewelry mounted on the user's tongue.

[0025] The article of jewelry shown in this invention could be used to enhance sexual enjoyment, through the dispensing of a sexual stimulant.

[0026] The instant invention has been shown and described herein in what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.

Claims

1. A tongue mounted dispenser, comprising:

a rigid, small shaft, sized to extend through a pierced opening within a user's tongue; said shaft having threaded fasteners at each end;

a base, threadably attachable to one end of said shaft, said base including a threaded fastener and said base being sized to be larger than a pierced opening of a user's tongue for retaining the shaft within the user's tongue during wearing;

a housing that includes a threaded fastener, for attachment to said shaft, said housing including a chamber for receiving a consumable substance and retaining sad consumable substance against said user's tongue during operation.

2. A device as in claim 1 including:

a consumable product connected to said housing for dispensing on a user's tongue.

3. A device as in claim 1 including:

a container including a plurality of small apertures containing a liquid or powder, said container being sized to be attached to said housing for dispensing of a liquid or powder when mounted on a user's tongue.

4. A device as in claim 3, wherein said container is two hemispheres threadably connected.
