Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a shaped dish, suitable for facilitating taking a liquid contained therein.

[0002] It is known that, when using conventional dishes containing a liquid, such as broth, people is induced to collect the last amounts of said liquid by slightly raising an edge of said dish and by acting with the spoon in the liquid pool determined by the dish raising.

[0003] It is also known that such behavior is not at all distinguished and certainly is not recommended by the etiquette of the behavior at table.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The present invention aims at obviating such drawbacks by providing a dish that make collecting of residual liquid in the dish easier, without handling the dish in the above manner.

[0005] According to the invention, a dish for improving collection of a liquid contained therein has a bottom including a flat portion and a hollow, and the flat portion is slightly inclined towards the hollow to let residual liquid onto the bottom to become collected in the hollow itself.

[0006] The hollow may be formed at any position across the bottom, in particular at the bottom periphery, in a zone where the bottom connects to the dish edge, or at the bottom center.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0007] The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, given by way of non limiting example, in which:

[0008] FIG. 1 is a top plan view of a dish according to the invention;

[0009] FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view taken along line A-A of FIG. 1;

[0010] FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view taken along line B-B of FIG. 1;

[0011] FIG. 4 is a top plan view of a dish according to an equivalent embodiment of the invention;

[0012] FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view taken along line C-C of FIG. 4; and

[0013] FIG. 6 is a cross sectional view taken along line D-D of FIG. 4.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0014] As it is apparent from FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, dish 1 according to the invention is a conventional dish with a flat bottom 3 that is slightly inclined from an edge 5 to the other edge 7.

[0015] A hollow 9 is provided near the connection between inclined plane 3 and edge 7. The residual liquid contained in the dish, already brought towards the connection region of said edge with inclined plane 3 thanks to said inclination, is collected in said hollow and can be more easily taken therefrom by means of the spoon.

[0016] FIGS. 4, 5, 6 show another embodiment, equivalent to the described one.

[0017] In that second embodiment, bottom 11 of dish 8 is inclined towards the center where a hollow 13 is provided, said hollow being similar to hollow 9 of the previous embodiment and having the same functions and the same aims.

[0018] It is clear that, in accordance with the inventive idea of the above embodiments, the dish according to the invention can be manufactured with the liquid collecting hollow located at any location across the dish bottom, and that said dish bottom will be inclined depending on the location of said hollow.
