Barrette/hair clip with integrally attachable artificial flower
A hair ornament including a barrette having a device for attaching the barrette to a person's hair and having a barrette surface for receiving ornamentation on it. One or more ornamented leaves are glued to the barrette surface and one or more silk flowers are glued to the one or more ornamental leaves to form the hair ornament.
[0001] The present invention relates to hair barrettes, clips, combs, necklaces, and pins to which leaves are integrally attached by glue. Then, an artificial silk flower is attached to the leaves with glue to create an ornament.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002] Using hair securing devices such as hair bands, bobby pins, barrettes, etc. or other securing devices to secure ornaments to clothing or to the body to be worn as jewelry is well known. However, although such devices often provide for ornamental designs integral to the clip or pin itself, they still maintain the appearance of their functional integrity. Moreover, they still appear to be a clasp or bobby pin, etc. There is a need for a barrette, hair clip, necklace or pin that maintains its functional integrity while masking a unitary structure of a barrette, hair clip, necklace or pin with an adornment, namely an artificial flower.
[0003] It is an object of the present invention to provide for a barrette, hair clip, comb or pin to which an artificial flower or like ornamentation can be easily attached.
DESCRIPTION OF PRIOR ART[0004] U.S. Pat. No. 5,735,295 discloses a method of fabricating and adhering a decorative component such as a flower to a bobby pin with glue.
[0005] U.S. Pat. No. 5,893,377 discloses a hair clip such as a barrette in which a decorative piece such as a flower may be detachably secured to the base of the clip by snaps. Thus, various decorative pieces may be attached to a single clip.
[0006] U.S. Pat. No. 6,131,585 discloses a hair ornament in which a decorative device, i.e. a decorative silk flower, can be directly attached to the hair by a Velcro fastener.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION[0007] The present invention provides a hair ornament including a barrette having a device for attaching the barrette to a person's hair and having a barrette surface for receiving ornamentation on it. [0008] In an alternate embodiment a hair clip may be used instead of a barrette.
[0009] In another alternate embodiment a hair bun net may be affixed to the hair ornament.
