Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention is related to a golf bag with automatic leg support. Simply by means of placing the bag section upright or inclining the bag section of the golf bag, the leg supports can be automatically controllably opened or closed. This operation is convenient. The golf bag has simple structure and is manufactured at low cost.

[0002] When playing golf, it is necessary to carry the golf bag from one hole to next one. The golf bag contains multiple golf clubs therein. When placing the golf bag in an inclined state, a player can conveniently take out a suitable golf club and place in the golf club. Therefore, the golf bag is equipped with a leg support for supporting the golf bag in an inclined state.

[0003] Most of the existent leg supports need to be manually unfolded or folded or even troublesomely pressed, turned, latched, drawn and locked. Such operation cannot be performed by single hand so that it is inconvenient to use such leg support.

[0004] Therefore, it is tried by the applicant to provide a golf bag with automatic leg support. Simply by means of placing the bag section upright or inclining the bag section of the golf bag, the leg supports can be automatically controllably opened or closed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide a golf bag with automatic leg support. Simply by means of placing the bag section upright or inclining the bag section of the golf bag, the leg supports can be automatically controllably opened or closed. This operation is convenient.

[0006] It is a further object of the present invention to provide the above golf bag which has simple structure and is manufactured at low cost.

[0007] The present invention can be best understood through the following description and accompanying drawings wherein:

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0016] Please refer to FIGS. 1 to 3. The golf bag with automatic leg support of the present invention includes a bag section 10 and an automatic leg support assembly 20.

[0017] The bag section 10 serves to receive golf clubs therein. A top cap 11 and a base seat 12 are respectively disposed at top end and bottom end of the bag section 10. The top cap 11 is equipped with a pair of pivot seats 111. A guide section 121 is disposed on one side of the base seat 12. The guide section 121 has a guide hole 122. In addition, the base seat 12 is formed with a slope section 13 and a plane section 14.

[0018] The automatic leg support assembly 20 includes:

[0019] a pair of leg supports 21 pivotally disposed on the pivot seats 12, the pair of leg supports 21 being movable between a close position P1 and an open position P2;

[0020] a link section 22, referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, the link section 22 having a pair of slide rods 221 and a resilient member 222 connected with the slide rods 221, outer ends of the slide rods 221 being respectively fixed on the pair of leg supports 21, when the leg supports 21 are positioned in the close position P1, the slide rods 221 being retracted, when the leg supports 21 are positioned in the open position P2, the slide rods 221 being extended outward; and

[0021] a controlling rod 23, one end of the controlling rod 23 being connected with the link section 22, while the other end being passed through the guide hole 122 of the guide section 121 and adjacent to the slope section 13 of the base seat 12.

[0022] FIGS. 4 and 5 are top views of the present invention. In FIG. 4, the bag section 10 is upright and the leg supports 21 are positioned in the close position P1. In FIG. 5, the bag section 10 is inclined and the leg supports 21 are positioned in the open position P2 where the leg supports 21 are turned outward to contain an angle &thgr;.

[0023] When a user changes the bag section 10 from vertical state into inclined state, the slope section 13 of the base seat 12 contacts with the ground 30 and the controlling rod 23 is lifted by a predetermined distance. The link section 22 is forcedly moved upward (and simultaneously slightly moved outward). Accordingly, the leg supports 21 are turned outward to the open position P2. At this time, the resilient member 222 is extended into a state as shown in FIG. 7. Therefore, the leg supports 21 are automatically stretched as shown in FIG. 2.

[0024] However, when the bag section 10 is changed inclined state into vertical state, the plane section 14 of the base seat 12 contacts with the ground and the controlling rod 23 no more abuts against the ground. In addition, by means of the contraction pulling force (restoring force) of the resilient member 222 in the link section 22, the leg supports 21 are forcedly moved back into the close position P1. At the same time, the controlling rod 23 is driven to move upward into the state as shown in FIG. 1. Therefore, the leg supports 21 can be automatically moved back.

[0025] Accordingly, simply by means of placing the bag section 10 upright or inclining the bag section 10, the leg supports can be automatically controllably opened or closed. This operation is convenient and can be performed by single hand.

[0026] The resilient member 222 provides driving force necessary for automatically folding the leg supports 21. The resilient member 222 can be a spring, a leaf spring or a rubber ring.

[0027] A guide plate 231 can be added to the bottom end of the controlling rod 23 to enlarge the contact area and prolong using life.

[0028] The present invention has simple structure and can be manufactured at low cost.

[0029] The above embodiments are only used to illustrate the present invention, not intended to limit the scope thereof. Many modifications of the above embodiments can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
