Description

[0001] David T. Bootz, an individual, is the Sole Inventor of the 2 Stroke Painting System

[0002] David T. Bootz has been a residential and commercial painter for more than 20 years.

[0003] The 2 Stroke Paint System will be injection molded out of plastic.

[0004] The system is a plastic cover which fits over a one gallon paint can.

[0005] The opening in this plastic cover allows the painter to dip the brush into the can and remove the excess paint from the four sides of the brush in 2 strokes.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0006] A painter using a one gallon paint can must remove the excess paint each time the brush is dipped into the can.

[0007] This must be done on the four sides of the brush.

[0008] The rounded can causes paint buildup in the middle of the brush. It also causes paint buildup in the run if the can, making the can difficult to seal when replacing the paint can cover.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0009] Bottom View—Page 5,

[0010] The view from the bottom of the 2 Stroke Painting System shows the ½″ lip where the device fits over the one gallon paint can. It also shows the ⅛″ wide by 3½″ lip where one can grasp the device to remove it from the paint can.

[0011] Top View—Page 6,

[0012] Looking down at the top view of the 2 Stroke Painting System as the device fits over the one gallon paint can.

[0013] The area 5.25″ wide is the area where the brush is dipped into the paint can.

[0014] The area 3.5″ wide is where the brush is wiped removing excess paint from the flat side of the brush and from the edge of the brush in one stroke. The brush is then turned around and repeated on the other side of the brush.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0015] The 2 Stroke Painting System will be injection molded and manufactured out of plastic.

[0016] After removal of the cover of the one gallon paint can, the plastic 2 Stroke Painting System fits snugly over the top of the can.

[0017] The brush is dipped into the can and the excess is removed in 2 strokes instead of 4.

[0018] The plastic cover cleans easily and can be used repeatedly.

Claims

1. The 2 stroke painting system cuts in half the time used to dip the brush into the can and remove the excess paint:

It eliminates paint build up in the middle of the brush, extending the life of the paint brush.
Also, eliminates paint build up in the rim of the paint can, which assures a tight seal when replacing the cover.
When using a painting tray the opening of the 2 Stroke Painting System is large enough to pour excess paint from the tray back into the can keeping the rim clean.
