Simple ornamental clips

Abstract

A curtain clip, with like clips for suspending a curtain, each clip: (1) encompasses the curtain rod in a manner that allows the clips to slide easily across the curtain rod, (2) has a body comprised of two pieces held together by a hinge to easily suspend or remove a curtain with ease for the purpose of laundering or changing the curtain, (3) has a male and female counterpart that pass through the eyelet or hole in the curtain for the purpose of suspending a curtain from a curtain rod. (4) has a holding device to which various ornamental devices can be attached, (5) has various ornamental devices with an apparatus for attaching to said clip.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This invention can be used to hold up any curtain with eyelets or holes in them. The ease in use of these clips are simple and the devices that attach are ornamental hence the name used; Simple Ornamental Clips. These clips are used to suspend a curtain from a curtain rod and are easy to open by applying light pressure to the top body of the clip.

[0002] They include a holding device in which an ornamental device can be attached. The ornamental devices include an apparatus to be attached to the clip. The clip is comprised of two sides held together by a hinge, a holding device for attaching ornamental devices, ornamental devices to be attached to each of the clips by an apparatus, and a female and male counterpart that secures the curtain for suspension by going through the aperture in a curtain.

[0003] These clips slide back and forth over a curtain rod allowing the curtain to be pulled open or closed easily for privacy or protection purposes.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] A curtain clip, with like clips that encompass a curtain rod. Each clip (1) encompasses the curtain rod in a manner in which the clips can slide easily over a curtain rod, the body comprised of two pieces held together by a hinge, (2) has a holding device to which ornamental devices are to be attached, (3) has an ornamental device with an apparatus to be attached to said clip, (4) has a female and male counterparts which pass through each aperture in a curtain and fit inside one another for the purpose of suspending a curtain from a curtain rod.

[0005] These clips allow a person to: (1) open and close a curtain with ease, (2) add to the decor of a room, and (3) remove or hang a curtain with simplicity for the purpose of laundering or changing the curtain. These clips solve the problem of struggling with other devices that are used to suspend curtains. Other devices used to suspend curtains are difficult to open and close especially for the physically challenged and break easily.

[0006] This invention is decorative, attractive and pleasing to the eye. The ornamental devices can be interchangeable to allow the ambiance of a room to be changed such as for holidays or to change the decor. These ornamental devices come in a variety of different designs allowing a person to mix or match the devices on each clip.

[0007] Many consumers want to decorate rooms using different designs to make the room themed. There are soap dishes, toilet brush holders, wastebaskets etc. all with designs that the consumer can use to add a theme to their room. However, there are no curtain clips with designs. These clips solve that problem. For example, if someone wanted a beach themed room they would purchase beach themed items such as a starfish, seashell, or sailboat. However, they would have nothing to carry out this beach theme from which to suspend a curtain. The ornamental devices have several designs from which to choose.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0025] These clips and ornamental devices are comprised of metal, plastic, and sometimes resin, further comprising of a hinge preferably made from a non-rusting material such as stainless steel, a female and male counterpart in order to secure the clips through the curtain hole or eyelet for suspension purposes, a device which allows the ornamental devices to be attached to the clip(s), and ornamental devices that have an apparatus to be attached to the clip(s).

[0026] To use the clips simply squeeze or pinch the top of the body of the clip attached by a hinge to open and place each clip over the curtain rod then guide the female and male counterparts through the hole or eyelet in the curtain. To attach the ornamental device simply guide the apparatus on the back of the ornamental device through the holding device positioned on the clip. To remove the clips do the reverse.

[0027] Each clip slides easily back and forth over the curtain rod due to the design of the clip fitting over and hugging the curtain rod itself. This allows persons to easily open and close a curtain with the clips attached.

[0028] Referring to the drawings, FIG. 1 illustrates a single clip; top of clip (1), sides of clip (2), a holding device (3) for attaching the ornamental device, a female (5) and male (4) counterpart. FIG. 3-16 illustrates front and rear views of different designs of ornamental devices (9) with apparatus (10). [0029] To summarize, this invention is for the purpose of easily suspending and removing any curtain with a hole or eyelet. This invention encompasses a curtain rod and easily slides over a rod when opening or closing a curtain. This invention is simple to use so that the public or even the physically challenged can operate it.

[0030] This invention has a holding device for holding ornamental devices and ornamental devices that have an apparatus to be attached to the clips. The ornamental devices interchange to allow for change in the decor of a room. The ornamental devices can be mixed or matched to allow a person to change or add a theme to a room.

[0031] These curtain clips are attractive, simple to use, maintain, and manufacture. These clips are economical and made with such quality that they will be able to withstand a long life of use.

Claims

1. I claim a curtain clip, with like clips, that slide on an overhead curtain rod, for the purpose of suspending or removing a curtain from a rod, said clip comprising:

A) a body which encompasses a curtain rod, comprised of two pieces that open and close with a hinge;

B) a female and male counterpart to pass through the eyelet or hole in a curtain;

C) a holding device to which an ornamental device can be attached;

D) ornamental devices with an apparatus attached, said apparatus to be attached to holding device on said clip:

2. I claim a holding device on said clip(s) that allows an ornamental device to be attached.

I claim ornamental devices in a variety of designs with an apparatus on each ornamental device for the purpose of attaching the ornamental device to the clip(s) per the holding device on said clip, examples include: motifs such as seasonal, sports (NFL with permission), animals, floral, southwestern, tropical, transportation, holidays, mythical creatures, food, patriotic, celestial, beach, divine, children, and cartoon characters and more; ornamental devices are interchangeable to allow the ambiance of a room to be changed such as for holidays or simply change the decor; ornamental devices can be mixed or matched on said clips to allow a person to carry out a theme of a room.

4. The clip of claim one, body comprising of two pieces encompasses a curtain rod and passes through an aperture in a curtain for the purpose of suspending a curtain from a rod encompassing in a way that said clip can easily slide over a curtain rod.

5. The clip of claim one having male and female counterpart passing through an aperture in a curtain and adapted so they fit inside one another in order to secure curtain in place for the purpose of suspension.

6. The clip of claim one having a holding device to which an ornamental device can be attached.

7. The clip of claim one having an ornamental device with an apparatus attached said apparatus to be attached to holding device on said clip.

8. The clip of claim two holding device attached to clip for the purpose of attaching ornamental devices.

9. The clip of claim three ornamental devices in a variety of designs with an apparatus attached for the purpose of attaching ornamental devices to holing device on said clip.
