CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

[0001] The present application claims priority of prior U.S. provisional application Serial No. 60/471,421, filed May 16, 2003, entitled “PROTECTION SYSTEM”, the contents of which are incorporated herein by this reference and are not admitted to be prior art with respect to the present invention by the mention in this cross-reference section.

BACKGROUND

[0002] This invention relates to golf bag accessory systems. More particularly, this invention relates to providing systems for improved protection against abrasion caused by a golf bag. Typically, golfers carry their golf clubs or hire persons, such as caddies, to carry their golf bag as they walk a golf course from golf hole to golf hole. Such golf bags are typically carried by a shoulder strap such that the golf bag tends to have a swinging motion as the golf bag user walks. This swinging motion of the golf bag causes a brushing action that tends to abrade against the golf bag user's hip and wear through the golf bag user's clothes.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

[0003] A primary object and feature of the present invention is to provide a system for protecting the user of a golf bag from abrasion by attaching to the golf bag a pad which hangs between the golf bag and a body contour portion of the user, protecting the user and his clothing.

[0004] Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide such a system capable of reducing the friction of the pad on the golf bag, which assists the pad in gripping to the user. Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide such a system capable of cushioning the golf bag user's body from the golf bag. Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide such a system capable of convenient attachment to the golf bag. Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide such a system malleable to the contour portion of the user's body. Another object and feature of the present invention is to provide such a system capable of displaying indicia.

[0005] A further object and feature of the invention is to provide methods of displaying indicia. A further object and feature of the present invention is to provide methods of manufacturing, distributing, and displaying systems having indicia.

[0006] A further primary object and feature of the present invention is to provide such a system that is efficient, inexpensive, and handy. Other objects and features of this invention will become apparent with reference to the following descriptions.
