Spandex cap

Disclosed herein is a spandex cap. The spandex cap includes a side/rear sweatband formed by extending a crown to a predetermined length at both side and rear portions of the cap and by inwardly folding the extended portion of the crown to optimize the elasticity of a stretch yarn used as a weft yarn of a spandex textile. In this case, the side/rear sweatband absorbs sweat perspiring from both side and rear portions of a user's head. Further, a plurality of sewn lines are formed by sewing the inwardly folded side/rear sweatband to the crown at selected positions for preventing the side/rear sweatband from being unfolded and drooped.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates generally to a spandex cap, and more particularly, to a spandex cap, which has a side/rear sweatband absorbing sweat of a user's head and formed by extending the crown of the cap downward to a predetermined length at its both side and rear portions and inwardly folding the extended portion of the crown, and which can be easily worn without adjusting the circumference of the cap according to the variable girth of the user's head by optimizing the elasticity of a stretch yarn used as a weft yarn of a spandex textile applied to both the crown and the side/rear sweatband, and which can prevent the side/rear sweatband from being unfolded and drooped by sewing the inwardly folded side/rear sweatband to the crown, along sewn lines, at selected positions at the inner surface of the crown, therefore giving desired comfort to the user as well as reducing the weight of the cap.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] As well known to those skilled in the art, spandex used in a conventional spandex cap has an excellent elasticity, so the spandex cap is advantageous in that it can be worn regardless of the variable head sizes of users.

[0005] However, the conventional spandex cap is adjusted, considering only the volume of the user's head on which the cap is put. In order to fit the spandex cap to the girth of the user's head, an elastic sweatband has been used.

[0006] In this case, the conventional spandex cap has a problem that the additional elastic sweatband is sewn along the side and rear portions of the finished spandex cap, thus causing its manufacturing cost as well as the cost of the cap to increase.

[0007] The conventional spandex cap has another problem that the sweatband is sewn to the cap, so there may be wrinkles on the side and rear portions of the spandex cap.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a spandex cap, which is designed to optimize the elasticity of a stretch yarn used as a weft yarn of a spandex textile, thus being easy to wear and giving a user desired comfort without additionally adjusting the circumference of the cap according to the girth of a user's head, and which is light in its weight, prevents the side and rear portions of the cap from wrinkling, and is reduced in its manufacturing cost.

[0009] In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a spandex cap, which has a side/rear sweatband formed by extending a crown of the cap to a predetermined length at its both side and rear portions and inwardly folding the extended portion of the crown, and sewn lines provided at selected positions of the inwardly folded portion of the crown to prevent the side/rear sweatband from being unfolded and drooped.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0010] The above and other objects, features and other advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:

[0011] FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a spandex cap according to the present invention, in which the cap is formed into a single structure with a crown and a side/rear sweatband;

[0012] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the spandex cap of this invention, in which the side/rear sweatband is inwardly folded and sewn to the crown; and

[0013] FIG. 3 is a partial cutaway sectional view showing the size adjustment of the spandex cap in accordance with this invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0014] Reference now should be made to the drawings, in which the same reference numerals are used throughout the different drawings to designate the same or similar components.

[0015] As shown in the drawings, a spandex cap 101 of this invention is designed to optimize the elasticity of a stretch yarn used as a weft yarn of a spandex textile. The spandex cap 101 includes a side/rear sweatband 104. The side/rear sweatband 104 serving to absorb sweat of a user's head is formed by extending the crown 102 of the cap 101 downward to a predetermined length at its both side and rear portions and by inwardly folding the extended portion of the crown 102.

[0016] A plurality of sewn lines 105 are formed by sewing the inwardly folded side/rear sweatband to the crown 102 at selected positions to prevent the side/rear sweatband 104 from being unfolded and drooped.

[0017] The construction and effect of the spandex cap 101 according to this invention are as follows.

[0018] FIG. 1 illustrates the spandex cap 101 of this invention designed such that the side/rear sweatband 104 is integrated with the crown 102. Both side and rear portions of the crown 102 of the spandex cap 101 are extended downward to form the side/rear sweatband 104.

[0019] As such, since the side/rear sweatband 104 is integrated with the crown 102, high work efficiency can be achieved, different from the conventional spandex cap, which is designed such that a sweatband of a different material, such as a cloth and a synthetic resin, is separately manufactured and then sewn along the side and rear portions of the crown 102

[0020] FIG. 2 shows the spandex cap 101 of this invention, when the side/rear sweatband 104 is inwardly folded and sewn to the crown 102. It is simple to make the sweatband 104, because the side/rear sweatband 104 is formed by only extending the both side and rear portions of the crown 102 downward and by inwardly folding the extended portion of the crown 102.

[0021] Since the inwardly folded side/rear sweatband 104 is sewn to the crown 102, along the sewn lines 105, at selected positions at the inner surface of the crown 102, the side/rear sweatband 104 can be prevented from being unfolded and drooped.

[0022] According to this invention, since both the crown 102 and the side/rear sweatband 104 of the spandex cap 101 are made of spandex materials, it is possible to optimize the elasticity of the stretch yarn used as the weft yarn of the spandex textile.

[0023] Therefore, the elasticity of the spandex cap 101 allows the cap 101 to be fitted on a user without adjusting the circumference of the cap 101 according to the variable girth of the user's head, thus being easy to wear the cap 101 as well as giving considerable comfort to the user.

[0024] In addition, both the crown 102 and the side/rear sweatband 104 of the spandex cap 101 are made of spandex materials, thus reducing the spandex cap 101 in its weight.

[0025] Further, an additional sweatband is not attached to the crown 102 different from the conventional spandex cap, thus preventing the side and rear portions of the spandex cap 101 from being wrinkled.

[0026] As described above, the present invention provides a spandex cap, which has a side/rear sweatband formed by extending a crown to a predetermined length at both side and rear portions of the cap and by inwardly folding the extended portion of the crown, and a plurality of sewn lines formed by sewing the inwardly folded side/rear sweatband to the crown at selected positions so as to prevent the side/rear sweatband from being unfolded and drooped, thus being capable of optimizing the elasticity of a stretch yarn used as a weft yarn of a spandex textile, therefore the cap being easy to wear as well as giving considerable comfort to the user without adjusting the circumference of the cap according to the girth of the user's heads, and reducing the weight of the cap, and preventing the side and rear portion of the cap from being wrinkled, and reducing the manufacturing cost of the spandex cap.

[0027] Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
