Compact disc storage rack

A compact disk storage rack includes a securing portion and a rack portion both disposed at a same axis for relative rotations. The securing portion is non-rotatable when being fixed and positioned, whereas the rack portion is rotatable regarding the securing portion as a benchmark axis thereof. Moreover, a limiting assembly is provided between the securing portion and the rack portion for restraining relative rotations of the securing portion and the rack portion, and for controlling a rotated position of the rack portion. Using the aforesaid structure, a condition of objects hung at the rack portion may be transformed from being stacked to suspended, or vice versa, thereby minimizing storage spaces and facilitating retrieval or acquisition of a specific object.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The invention relates to a compact disc storage rack, and more particularly, to a compact disc storage rack that has easy retrieval, small storage space, simple assembly and high market competitiveness.

[0003] (b) Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Storage racks are essential commodities in people's everyday life. Various types of storage racks provide people with a wide range of choices for different purposes. There are storage racks for placing or hanging tableware or kitchenware in kitchens, storage racks for keeping bathroom utensils in bathrooms, and even storage racks for hanging clothes and ties in bedrooms. Of course, many other types of storage racks are available but cannot be listed in detail. Also, these storage racks have distinct purposes and styles, and therefore they cannot be compared. The invention is to provide a compact disc storage rack, which is capable of hanging objects, and adjustable to various angles according to a user's needs for facilitating retrieval and handling of specific objects. In addition, the invention also provides a simple structure for bringing optimum benefits.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The primary object of the invention is to provide a compact disc storage rack, and more especially, a compact disc storage rack offering facilitated storage and arrangement. To achieve the aforesaid object, the invention utilizes a simple structure comprising a securing portion and a rack portion that are capable of relative rotations. The securing portion is non-rotatable when being fixed and assembled, whereas the rack portion is rotatable regarding the securing portion as a rotation axis thereof. The rack portion is provided with a plurality of hook members for hanging compact disks kept in protective covers. To put the compact storage rack as a storage state, the rack portion is adjusted to vertical so that the compact disks are distributed at the rack portion in a stacked fashion for economizing storage spaces thereof. When a user wishes to pick or retrieve a specific compact disk, the user may leaf over for retrieving, or even turn the rack portion to horizontal such that the compact disks transform into a suspended manner, thereby more easily accomplishing acquisition or retrieval of the specific compact disk.

[0006] The other object of the invention is to provide compact disk storage rack having a simple structure for reducing required material thereof, thereby lowering production expenses as well as obtaining better market competitiveness.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0011] To better understand the technical contents of the invention, detailed descriptions shall be given with the accompanying drawings hereunder.

[0012] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2 showing an elevational schematic view and an exploded structural schematic view according to the invention, respectively, the invention at least comprises a securing portion 10 and a rack portion 20. The securing portion 10 and the rack portion 20 are both disposed at a same axis in a relatively rotatable manner to the axis, and are further provided with a limiting assembly 30 in between. The securing portion 10 has a securing plane 10a for fastening to a wall. The rack portion 20 consists of two support arms 21 and 22, and a connection column 23. The two support arms 21 and 22 are pivotally disposed at two end portions 101 and 102 of the securing portion 10, respectively, and are formed with corresponding axis openings and pivotal axes, 211 and 103, and 221 and 104, respectively. The connection column 23 is joined with the two support arms 21 and 22 for restricting relative positions of the two support arms 21 and 22, and for reinforcing overall strength of the rack portion 20. In addition, pivotal joints of the two support arms 21 and 22 at the two end portions 101 and 102 of the securing portion 10 are disposed with a fastening member 40 for fastening the two support arms 21 and 22 to the two end portions 101 and 102, respectively. The fastening members 40 may be screws, bolts or the like as long as being capable of preventing the two support arms 21 and 22 from falling off the two end portions 101 and 102.

[0013] The securing portion 10 becomes non-rotatable when being fastened and positioned. The rack portion 20, however, is rotatable regarding the securing portion 10 as a benchmark axis thereof. Using the limiting assembly 30, relative rotations of the securing portion 10 and the rack portion 20 are controlled. Therefore, a user is able to arbitrarily decide relative inclined angles between the securing portion 10 fastened to the wall and the rack portion 20.

[0014] Each of the limiting assembly 30 disposed between the securing portion 10 and the rack portion 20, is arranged between the two supporting arms 21 and 22, and the two end portions 101 and 102 of the securing portion 10, respectively. Each limiting assembly 30 includes an elastic member 301, a positioning member 302, an accommodating cavity 103 and at least two positioning cavities 304. Wherein, the accommodating cavity 303 is disposed at the two end portions 101 and 102, respectively, and an interior thereof is provided with the elastic member 301 and the positioning member 302 in sequence in an outward direction. The positioning cavities 304 are corresponding to the positioning member 302, and are therefore corresponding to diameters of the positioning members 302 and disposed at the supporting arms 21 and 22. Although the elastic member 301, the positioning member 302 and the accommodating cavity 303 of each limiting assembly 30 are provided at the securing portion 10, and the positioning cavities 304 are correspondingly disposed at the supporting arms 21 and 20, it is to be noted that relative positions of these members of the limiting assembly 30 may be exchanged.

[0015] In addition, for the rack portion 20 to provide actual hanging of objects, the support arms 21 and 22 thereof are further provided with a plurality of pairs of hook portions 24 and 25 for hanging objects 50 (to be described later). The hook portions 24 and 25 are disposed in a parallel and corresponding manner.

[0016] Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4 showing first and second schematic views according to the invention in use, the rack portion 20 is for hanging an object 50 that is a compact disk kept in a protective cover of a compact disk. To coordinate with the hung object 50, a distance between the two support arms 21 and 22 of the rack portion 20 is slightly larger than that of a common protective cover of a compact disk, and also matches a distance between assembly apertures of protective covers of compact discs. When the user hangs objects 50 one after another onto the rack portion 20, storage spaces of the objects 50 are economized. In this embodiment according to the invention, the objects 50 secured by the securing portion 10 are in a same axial direction as the rack portion 20. When the user wishes to find a specific item from the objects 50, for that items being stacked are more difficult to find, the user may then turn and pull the rack portion 20 downward, such that the rack portions 20 axially rotates regarding the securing portion 10 as an axis thereof through coordination of the axis openings 211 and 221, and pivotal axes 103 and 104 pivotally connected at the two end portions 101 and 102. The limiting assemblies 30 are further utilized for enabling the positioning members 302 to compress toward interiors of the accommodating cavities 303 during rotation. When the rack portion 20 is turned to a predetermined position, and the positioning members 302 are corresponded in the positioning cavities 304, the positioning members 302 enter the positioning cavities 304 due to thrust imposed by the elastic members 301. As a result, the positioning members 302 are dovetailed in the positioning cavities 304 for accomplish positioning purposes. At this point, a 90-degree included angle is formed between the rack portion 20 and the wall, and the objects 50 secured at the rack portion 20 are hung at the rack portion 20 in a suspended manner. The user then may easily find a specific object 50.

[0017] It is of course to be understood that the embodiment described herein is merely illustrative of the principles of the invention and that a wide variety of modifications thereto may be effected by persons skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

1. A compact disk storage rack at least comprising a securing portion and a rack portion, both disposed at a same axis for relative rotations, and a limiting assembly provided between the securing portion and the rack portion for restraining relative rotations of the securing portion and the rack portion; wherein the securing portion has a securing plane for fastening to a wall, thereby having the securing portion as non-rotatable when positioned, whereas the rack portion is capable of rotating regarding the securing portion as an rotation axis thereof.

The compact disk storage rack in accordance with claim 1, wherein the rack portion at least has two support arms pivotally connected to two end portions of the securing portion, and each joint of the two support arms and the two end portions of the securing portion is formed with an axis opening and a pivotal axis that may be pivotally connected to each other.

The compact disk storage rack in accordance with claim 2, wherein each of the limiting assemblies between the two support arms and two end portions of the securing portion has an interior disposed with an elastic member, an accommodating cavity for a positioning member, and a plurality of positioning cavities corresponding to the positioning member in sequence in an outward direction, and the positioning cavities are provided at the securing portion; and the positioning member, the elastic member and the accommodating cavity may also be disposed relatively at the securing portion, or relative positions thereof may be exchanged.

4. The compact disk storage rack in accordance with claim 2, wherein the two end portions of the securing portion and the two support arms further comprise fastening members such as screws and bolts for fastening the two support arms at the two end portions of the securing portion.

5. The compact disk storage rack in accordance with claim 3, wherein a number of the positioning cavities is two or more.

6. The compact disk storage rack in accordance with claim 2, wherein the rack portion further comprises a connection column for connecting the two support arms and restraining relative positions of the two support arms, thereby increasing strength of the rack portion.

7. The compact disk storage rack in accordance with claim 2, wherein the two support arms of the rack portion are further provided with a plurality of sets of hook members for clasping objects.

8. The compact disk storage rack in accordance with claim 7, wherein the plurality of sets of hook members is disposed correspondingly in a parallel arrangement.

9. The compact disk storage rack in accordance with claim 7, wherein a distance between the two support arms is equal to a distance between two assembly apertures of protective covers of compact disks.
