Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a table assembly, and more particularly to a table assembly having a larger structural strength.

2. Description of the Related Art

The closest prior art of which the applicant is aware is disclosed in his U.S. Pat. No. 6,520,094-B1, entitled by “TABLE ASSEMBLY”.

The conventional table assembly in accordance with the applicant's U.S. Pat. No. 6,520,094-B1 is shown in FIGS. 1-3 and comprises a table plate 1, a pair of leg devices 2, and a plurality of fastening clamps 3.

Each of the leg devices 2 has a U-shaped rod, two posts 21 each mounted on a bottom of the U-shaped rod, two first link bars 22 each mounted on a respective one of the posts 21, two second link bars 23 each connected to a respective one of the first link bars 22, and two support plates 24, one of the two support plates 24 being mounted on the second link bars 23 and the other one of the two support plates 24 being mounted on the two posts 21.

The table plate 1 has a bottom formed with two pairs of spaced recesses 11 to receive the two support plates 24 of each of the leg devices 2, and formed with a plurality of grooves 12 communicating with the spaced recesses 11. Each of the grooves 12 of the table plate 1 has a taper end 122 and en enlarged end 121. Each of the two support plates 24 of each of the leg devices 2 is inserted into the corresponding recess 11 of the table plate 1 and is formed with two oblong holes 25 aligning with the corresponding grooves 12 of the table plate 1.

Each of the fastening clamps 3 has an oblong plate 32 and two arm plates 31 each mounted on a bottom of the oblong plate 32. The arm plates 31 of each of the fastening clamps 3 are extended through the respective oblong holes 25 of the support plates 24 and are inserted into the respective grooves 12 of the table plate 1. Each of the arm plates 31 of each of the fastening clamps 3 has a taper portion rested on the taper end 122 of the respective groove 12 of the table plate 1 and an enlarged portion rested on the enlarged end 121 of the respective groove 12 of the table plate 1.

The table assembly further comprises two reinforced rods 4 each inserted into a respective one of the channels 13.

Thus, the arm plates 31 of each of the fastening clamps 3 are initially pressed into the enlarged end 121 of the corresponding groove 12 of the table plate 1, and are then urged and inserted into the taper end 122 of the corresponding groove 12 of the table plate 1, so that the arm plates 31 of each of the fastening clamps 3 can actually urge and secure each of the two support plates 24 of each of the leg devices 2 on the bottom of the table plate 1.

However, the two reinforced rods 4 and the support plates 24 are mounted independently and are separated from each other, so that the strength of the table assembly is not large enough to withstand the larger load.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a table assembly having a larger structural strength.

Another objective of the present invention is to provide a table assembly, wherein the positioning bars of the leg modules are combined with the two reinforced rods integrally, thereby greatly enhancing the structural strength of the table assembly, so that the table assembly can withstand the larger load.

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a table assembly, comprising a table plate, two opposite reinforced rods, and two opposite leg modules, wherein:

each of the two reinforced rods is mounted on a bottom of the table plate;

each of the two opposite leg modules is provided with two positioning bars each mounted on the bottom of the table plate; and

the positioning bars of the leg modules are combined with the two reinforced rods integrally.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 4-6, a table assembly in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a table plate 5, two opposite reinforced rods 6, two opposite leg modules 7, and a plurality of fastening clamps 8.

The table plate 5 has a bottom formed with two pairs of spaced receiving recesses 50. The bottom of the table plate 5 has two sides each formed with a receiving channel 51 (see FIG. 5B) communicating with each of the receiving recesses 50.

Each of the two reinforced rods 6 is mounted on the bottom of the table plate 5 and is inserted into the respective receiving channel 51 of the table plate 5.

Each of the two opposite leg modules 7 is provided with two positioning bars 71 each received in a respective one of the receiving recesses 50 of the table plate 5.

Each of the fastening clamps 8 is extended through a respective one of the positioning bars 71 of the leg modules 7 and is secured on a wall of a respective one of the receiving recesses 50 of the table plate 5, so that each of the positioning bars 71 of the leg modules 7 and is secured on the bottom of the table plate 5.

Each of the positioning bars 71 of the leg modules 7 has two ends each formed with an L-shaped fixed plate 72 (see FIG. 5A) fixed on the respective reinforced rod 6, so that the positioning bars 71 of the leg modules 7 are combined with the two reinforced rods 6 integrally.

Each of the two reinforced rods 6 is formed with a plurality of screw bores 61, the L-shaped fixed plate 72 of each of the positioning bars 71 of the leg modules 7 is formed with a through hole 721 aligning with the respective screw bore 61 of the respective reinforced rod 6, and the table assembly further comprises a plurality of screw members 9 each extended through the through hole 721 of the L-shaped fixed plate 72 of the respective positioning bar 71 of the leg modules 7 and each screwed into the respective screw bore 61 of the respective reinforced rod 6, so that the positioning bars 71 of the leg modules 7 are combined with the two reinforced rods 6 integrally.

Accordingly, the positioning bars 71 of the two leg modules 7 are combined with the two reinforced rods 6 integrally, thereby greatly enhancing the structural strength of the table assembly, so that the table assembly can withstand the larger load.

Referring to FIG. 7, the table assembly in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention is folded.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
