Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an improved silent device for submerge pump motor of aquarium, more particularly to a silent device that can eliminate the noise produced by the incoming air of the submerge pump.

2. Description of the Related Art

Since pet fishes are bred in aquaria, and the daily fish droppings, food remains, and impurities in water cannot be absorbed by plants or decomposed by bacteria as the natural environment does in order to purify and balance the water, therefore water is changed or aquarium tank is cleaned to purify and balance the water. However, changing water or rinsing the aquarium tank is very troublesome and laborious, and thus a filter is generally used to eliminate organic matters and decayed residues and reduce the number of times of changing water or rinsing the tank. However, traditional filters are submerged directly in water, and a submerge pump is used to directly pump water into the filter tank and then the water flows out through the filter. Therefore, the water does not have sufficient contact with the outside air, which will cause insufficient oxygen to be dissolved in water. A soft duct for supplying air is connected to increase the quantity of dissolved oxygen in water. Since such arrangement makes the air molecules to collide with each other in the soft duct, therefore a relatively loud noise will be produced. Additionally, the higher the speed, the shaper is the noise; such noise is definitely a nuisance to our living environment.

In view of the foregoing shortcomings, the applicant designed a silent device, comprising a main body, a lid, an axial member, and a soft tube tied around the axial member. By elongating the air conveyance path to reduce the collided molecules in the air and obtain the silent effect, the issued patent (R.O.C. Patent Application No. 91219485 has fully overcome the shortcoming of the noise produced by the submerge pump of a filter. Since it is time-consuming to tie the soft tube and the manufacturing process for tying the soft tube is generally unsmooth, the tube may be pressed and squeezed with each other to block the tube. As the volume of the main body 1 is increased, the whole silent device occupies too much space. Therefore, the applicant of this invention further thought of such issue and conducted researches to improve the structure of the silent device.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a silent device for a submerge pump of an aquarium that makes the installation of the silent device more convenient and eliminates noises more effectively without occupying too much space. The foregoing silent device comprises a main body, interlaced partition boards in transversal and longitudinal directions disposed inside the main body, an open passage individually disposed at the upper and lower sections of the longitudinal and transversal partitions, an air inlet and an air outlet disposed at the bottom and the top of the main body respectively, a piece of filter cotton and a netted cover disposed at the top the main body, such that the air outlet is connected to the air incoming duct of a submerge pump. After air enters the main body through the air inlet, the air forms upper and lower turnabout passages by the interlaced partition boards and lengthens the conveyance path and diminishes the molecular collision in order to achieve the silent effect.

The foregoing silent device has a transversal “H” shaped fixing base with protruded brackets at its bottom, and a piece of filter cotton and a netted cover disposed at the bottom of the fixing base for filtering the impurities in the air.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Please refer to FIGS. 1 to 3 for the improved silent device of submerge pump for aquarium in accordance with this invention, comprising a transparent main body 1, a transversal “H” shaped fixing base 2, a piece of filter cotton 3, and a netted cover 4; wherein the interior of the main body 1 has interlaced partition boards 11, 12 in the longitudinal and transversal directions such that an open passage (which will be described in a later section) is disposed individually at the upper and lower sections of the transversal partition board 11 and the longitudinal partition board 12 of the partition; an air inlet 13 and an air outlet 14 are respectively disposed at one side of the bottom and the top of the main body 1, and a fixing hole 15 at each of the four corners at the rear surface for fixing the same number of vacuum cups 16.

The fixing base 2 at its side has a through hole 21 corresponding to the air inlet 13 of the main body 1, and a plurality of protruded brackets 22 with partition arrangement at its bottom, and a footer 41 is disposed at the bottom of the netted cover 4.

A silent device 10 is constituted by assembling the foregoing components, such that the air outlet 14 is connected to an incoming air duct (not shown in the figure) of the submerge pump, and after air enters from the netted cover 4, the air passes through the filter cotton 3 to filter the impurities and then passes into the air inlet 13 of the main body 1 through the through hole 21 of the fixing base 2, and then into the upper and lower turnabout passages defined by the transversal boards 11 and the longitudinal boards 21 in order to elongate the conveyance path and diminish the collision of molecules in the air and achieve the silent effect; and the vacuum cups are used to fix the aquarium tank.

Please refer to FIGS. 4 and 5 together with FIG. 3 for the present invention. In the figures, transversal partition boards 11 and longitudinal partition boards 12 are disposed in the main body 1; an open passage 110 is disposed at the top of the transversal partition boards 11, 11a, 11b which is lower than the top of the main body 1; an open passage 111 is disposed at the bottom of the main body 1 which is higher than the bottom of the transversal partition boards 11c, 11d, 11e; an open passage 120 is disposed at the top of the longitudinal partition boards 12, 12a which is lower than the top of the main body 1 to define upper and lower turnabout successive passages. Such arrangement elongates the conveyance path after air enters into the main body 1 to diminish the collision of molecules in the air.

Please refer to FIGS. 6, 7, and 8 for the present invention when it is in use. After air enters into the main body 1, the air flows along the upper and lower turnabout passages defined by the open passages 110, 111 of the transversal partition boards 11 and the longitudinal partition boards 12, such that the whole conveyance path is elongated to effectively diminish the collision of molecules in the air and achieve the silent effect.

Additionally, the present invention makes use of the main body with interlaced transversal and longitudinal partition boards and the upper and lower open passages on the partition boards to define the turnabout passages, so that after the air enters the main body, the path is elongated to achieve the silent effect. This invention is a practical design which enhances the performance over the conventional structure and further complies with the patent application requirements and is submitted to the Patent and Trademark Office for review and granting of the commensurate patent rights.
