Abstract

A foldable luggage provided with a carriage essentially comprised of a rectangular trunk having its front side reserved with an opening sewn with a front panel and a zip to define an internal bag; a carriage including a retractable pull rod and a handle on the top of the trunk on the other side; multiple casters being provided at the bottom; both of the top and the bottom of the trunk being each inserted with a short honeycomb board; each of both shorter sides of the trunk being hollowed, then patched up with a nylon fabric and sewn with a zip to its peripheral; the upper and the lower ends of each side panel being reinforced with a rib and inserted with a long honeycomb board to hold the trunk firm and solid in use, and the trunk being folded and collapse to its minimum size for storage.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Technical Field of the Invention

The present invention is related to a foldable luggage with carrier, and more particularly, to one that saves packaging and transportation fees, and storage space.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

Whereas all the trades enjoy prosperous development thanks to the rapid economic growth, the world is getting smaller and frequent shutting between two countries by overseas tourists, individual travelers and businessmen. Either for longer stay for approximately two weeks or short stay for about one week, any traveler has to carry compact daily consumption items including extra clothing, appliances and medicines, and a luggage or a traveling bag is needed for putting all those items together to carry along.

Luggage or traveling bag generally available in the market comes in diversified types and models. However, the trunk is always made of hard material into two corresponding pieces to be closed up with a zip in the peripheral at where two pieces meet. Luggage or traveling bag involves larger size that prevents from being folded to reduce its size. When in storage, a luggage or a traveling bag consumes too much space; and in use, takes up too large transportation space. Accordingly, multiple pieces of luggage or traveling bag usually are required for taking an overseas trip, particularly when the trip is for shopping purpose. Extra luggage brings many problems and unpleasant experience to a traveler. Therefore, the structure of a luggage or a traveling bag of the prior art is pending further improvement.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a foldable luggage with a carrier that effectively saves the storage space. A foldable rectangular trunk in the form of a frame is provided. Both shorter sides of the trunk are hollowed with the opening to be patched up by sewing a side panel in the same size as that of the area hollowed and sewn up with a zipper to the peripheral instead of having a recessed peripheral at where two halves of trunk meet and zipped up as found with the conventional type. The conventional type prevents the hard trunk from being foldable, thus excessive space is required for the storage and transportation. Two side panels provided to both shorter sides of the luggage carrier of the present invention while functioning as a conventional one allows completely folding for storage and placement to effectively save the storage space.

To achieve the purpose, the structure of a foldable luggage carrier of the present invention is essentially comprised of a foldable, rectangular trunk in the form of a frame. An opening is left in the front side of the trunk sewn up with a front panel to define an interior bag and a zipper sewn to its peripheral for containing objects. Retractable pull rod set is provided at the top of the other side and a handle; and multiple casters are provided to the bottom of the trunk for easier carrying the luggage. Both shorter sides of the luggage carrier are each hollowed and sewn up thereon a side panel with a zipper sewn to the peripheral of the side panel. Each side panel holds a long honeycomb board in place and ribs respectively locked to the upper and the lower end of the side panel to hold against the short honeycomb board provided on the top and at the bottom of the trunk. Both side panels allow to be folded backwards for the entire rectangular trunk to be collapsed and flushed for storage. The present invention by increasing the useful space and reducing the storage space of a luggage carrier provides higher utility.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

Referring to FIGS. 1A, 1B, 2 and 3, the present invention relates to a foldable luggage with a carrier essentially comprised of a rectangular trunk 10 that is foldable and collapsed. The trunk 10 indicating a long frame is provided at its front side an opening 11. The inner edge of the opening 11 is patched up with a nylon fabric with its peripheral reinforced with a steel wire. A front panel is sewn to the opening 11 to define an inner bag 12 and a zipper sewn to the peripheral of the inner bag 12. At the top on the other side of the trunk 10 a retractable pull rod set 13 and a handle 14 are provided. A long honeycomb board 30 is inserted into the inner edge of the top of the trunk 10 and multiple casters 15 are provided at the bottom of the trunk 10 to facilitate carrying the trunk 10. Meanwhile, another long honeycomb board 30 is inserted to the inner side of the bottom of the trunk 10. Both shorter sides of the trunk are each provided with a hollowed space 16 to allow the top and the bottom of the trunk 10 respectively inserted with a honeycomb board 30 to be folded and collapsed to its minimum size for storage. Each shorter side is sewn with a side penal 20 made of nylon fabric in the same size as that of the hollowed space 16 and a zip sewn to the peripheral of the side panel 20 and further reinforced with a steel wire and fixed with a long honeycomb board 30 to give the side panel 20 a hard support. A protruding rib 21 is each locked to the upper and the lower ends of the side panel 20 to hold the long honeycomb board 30 in position for both ribs 21 to merely hold against those honeycomb boards 30 respectively inserted in the top and the bottom of the trunk 10, whereby the trunk 10 is held firm and solid by means of the ribs 21 and the honeycomb boards 30.

Now referring to FIGS. 4, 5 and 6, the present invention is folded and collapsed for storage or transportation in reduced size. To fold and collapse the present invention, both side panels 20 of the trunk 10 are unzipped allowing each side panel 20 to be folded towards the rear of the trunk 10. Meanwhile, both of the ribs 21 respectively locked to the upper and the lower ends of the side panel 20 fall off the long honeycomb boards 30 that hold and inserted to the top and the bottom of the trunk 10 to allow the entire trunk to be collapsed before being placed into a bag 40 for a neat storage.

The structure of the foldable luggage provided with a carriage comprised of a retractable pull rod set and a handle allows the trunk having both sides hollowed and patched up with a nylon fabric of the same size to that of the hollowed space, and sewn with a zipper at the peripheral of each side panel; each side panel being inserted with a honeycomb board and having the upper and the lower ends of the side panel respectively locked with a rib to hold against the short honeycomb boards respectively inserted in the top and the bottom of the trunk to improve the strength of the trunk for use or to fold and collapse the trunk to its minimum size for storage, is innovative and practical by eliminating the problems of transportation and storage of the trunk of the prior art.

It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.

Claims

1. A foldable luggage provided with a carriage comprising a rectangular trunk that can be folded and collapsed, wherein: an opening being provided on the front of the trunk; the inner edge of the opening being sewn and reinforced with a steel wire; the opening being patched up with a nylon fabric sewn with a front panel to define an internal bag; the carriage including a retractable pull rod set and a handle being provided at the top of the other side of the trunk; a honeycomb board being each inserted to the top and the bottom of the trunk; multiple casters being provided to the bottom of the trunk; both shorter sides of the trunk being each hollowed with the space patched up with a nylon fabric of same size to that of the hollowed space; each side panel being sewn to its peripheral a zip, reinforced with a steel wire and inserted with a long honeycomb board to give stiffness to the side panel; both of the upper and the lower ends of the side panel being respectively locked with an protruding rib; and the trunk being held firm and solid by both ribs holding against to both short honeycomb boards respectively inserted to the top and the bottom of the trunk.
