Description

Belt when worn in proper fashion, has been researched for a total of one year and ten months by inventor. Also inventor has similar design and feels that the invention is original. A length of strap material (Nylon, Cloth, Leather, Vinyl, or any non-stretching material) in widths of either {fraction (1/2)} inch, {fraction (3/4)} inch 1 inch, 1¼ inch, or 1½ inch cut in various measurements according to waist sizes as which will follow. The Velcro lengths exactly 12 inches each side (loop and hook) and sewn to strap lengths with loop sewn on outside lead end of belt and hook sewn on inside following end of belt. Velcro is also {fraction (1/4)} inch narrower than strap width sewn with {fraction (1/8)} inch gap on both top and bottom. Strap lengths are cut in according to waist sizes such as follows:

  • Waist sizes 20 to 28 inches uses 39 inches of strap material.
  • Waist sizes 26 to 34 inches uses 44 inches of strap material.
  • Waist sizes 32 to 40 inches uses 49 inches of strap material.
  • Waist sizes 38 to 46 inches uses 54 inches of strap material.
  • Waist sizes 44 to 52 inches uses 59 inches of strap material.
  • Waist sizes 50 to 58 inches uses 64 inches of strap material.
  • Waist sizes 56 to 62 inches uses 69 inches of strap material.

Belt is made with twelve inches of hook and loop or Velcro attachment to expand from shortest waist according to strap material lengths, to expand another eight inches with four inches of attachment material to secure on trousers.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

As a Truck Driver, wearing trousers at work were often uncomfortable with waist size too tight. So looser trousers were needed to optimize comfort. Yet wearing belts were uncomfortable for the buckles would irritate stomach and waist areas. Also the notches of belts were either too tight or loose. Therefore after much trial and error, I designed a belt in February 2002, which would maximize comfort in two ways First, with Velcro fastening brought the ultimate comfort in stomach and waist area. Second, cinching to fit according to waist comfort, makes fitting never too tight or loose. So before pursuing a patent, the invention researched and tested for over one year which I am still wearing.

BRIEF DESCRITPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The drawing can no describe the actual comfort of wearing the belt. They can, however, show how the device is simply made and applied. The drawings will be described in more detail following:

FIG. 1 shows how the Velcro is sewn onto both ends of belt.

FIG. 2 shows how belt is to be worn in trousers and the true application of invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION AND APPLICATION

According to the embodiment represented in FIG. 1 lead end 12 of belt 8 is cut in a pointed shape to provide easier threading of belt through trousers. Loop side of Velcro 10 is sewn to lead end 12 of belt 8 which is cut in length(s) according to waist size which is also in accompanying specifications listed above and in initial submission. The following end 14 of belt 8 is cut with a round shape for added comfort and to resist friction. The hook side of Velcro 16 is sewn on inside of belt 8 so to match up loop with hook side of Velcro 10 when belt 8 is completely together in trousers shown in FIG. 2.

When belt 30 shown in FIG. 2 is threaded through loops of trousers 26 and completely together with loop side of Velcro 20 contacting hook side of Velcro 22, belt is counter-rotated so following end of belt 24 slides under nearest loop of trousers 26 to prevent belt from becoming accidentally snagged or pulled open which secures belt in place. This is also described in specifications of lengths for cutting of belt 30 according to waist size.
