Base of golf club bag
A base of a golf club bag has a main member, which is made of a flexible material, having a bottom portion, a sidewall projected upwardly from a periphery of the bottom portion and at least a flexible portion, such that the bottom portion is divided by the flexible portion into a fixed portion and a movable portion and the sidewall is also divided by the flexible portion into a front portion and a rear portion. A front supporting device, which is made of a flexible material that harder than the main member, is provided in the front portion of the sidewall, and a rear supporting device, which is made of a flexible material that harder than the main member, is provided in the rear portion of the sidewall.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to a golf club bag, and more particularly to a base of the golf club bag, which the base has a sidewall and the sidewall is superior in strength.
2. Description of the Related Art
The U.S. Pat. No. 6,386,362 disclosed a conventional golf club bag, which a base of the golf club bag has a bottom portion and a sidewall projected from a periphery of the bottom portion. The base further has two supporting device, which is made of a harder material, mounted in the bottom portion to decide where of the base is flexible and to support the shape of the bottom portion.
The inventor of aforesaid patent suggested that the base is better provided with the supporting device in the sidewall rather than in the bottom portion. Because the supporting device in the sidewall has greater strength to keep the shape of the base and even while there is a loading on the base.
The patent only provides a flexible portion on the base which the user needs to exert a greater force to bend it. That is what I think to be improved.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe primary objective of the present invention is to provide a base of a golf club bag, which a sidewall of the base is capable of keeping the shape of the base and is superior in strength.
The secondary objective of the present invention is to provide a base of a golf club bag, which the base is bent easily by the user.
According to the objectives of the present invention, a base of a golf club bag comprises a main member, which is made of a flexible material, having a bottom portion, a sidewall projected upwardly from a periphery of the bottom portion and a flexible portion, such that the bottom portion is divided by the flexible portion into a fixed portion and a movable portion and the sidewall is also divided by the flexible portion into a front portion and a rear portion, and at least a supporting device, which is made of a flexible material that harder than the main member, fixed to the main member.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
As shown in FIGS. form
The main member 20 has an elliptical bottom portion 22 and a sidewall 24 projected from a periphery of the bottom portion 22. The sidewall 24 has a flexible portion 24 and at opposite sides of the flexible portion 24 are a front portion 240 and a rear portion 242. The bottom portion 22 defines a fixed portion 220 and a movable portion 222, wherein the fixed portion 220 is at where the front portion 240 surrounds and the movable portion 222 is at where the rear portion 242 surrounds.
The front supporting device 30 is an arch piece having a hardness greater than the main member 20. The front supporting device 30 is fixed in the front portion 240 of the sidewall 24.
The rear supporting device 40 is an arch piece having a hardness greater than the main member 20. The rear supporting device 40 is fixed in the rear portion 242 of the sidewall 24. The front supporting device 30 and the rear supporting device 40 keep a suitable distance from each other.
In the present preferred embodiment, the flexible portion 260 has a slot 260 on a bottom of the bottom portion 22 and transverse cross the bottom portion 22 and a pair of recesses 262 on an interior side of the sidewall 24 between the front portion 240 and the rear portion 242. The base 10, therefore, is bendable along the flexible portion 26. In use, the base 10 can stand on the ground with the fixed portion 220 attached on the ground and the movable portion 222 and the rear portion 242 bent upwards to leave the ground.
The golf club bag is provided with a bag (not shown) on the base 10 and a stand assembly (not shown) and a post (not shown) are provided on the bag. The base 10 is further provided with a first connection device 50 and a second connection device 60.
The first connection device 50 has a plate 52 fixed on a top of the fixed portion 220 of the bottom portion 22 adjacent to the sidewall 24 and a hook 54. The plate 52 is fixed by rivets and the hook 54 projected upwards from a front of the plate 52. The second connection device 60 is provided on a rear of the movable portion 222 of the bottom portion 22 and on an interior side of the rear portion 242 of the sidewall 24. The second connection device 60 has a hole in the present preferred embodiment.
While the movable portion 222 and the rear portion 242 are bent, the first and the second buffer portions 71 and 73 will be bent in sequence earlier than the flexible portion 26. Such that the movable portion 222 is bent upwards easier to make the golf club bag with the base 10 of the present invention standing on the ground easily.
