In a process for producing shoes in which the upper (1) and the lining (2) are joined to the area (5) which forms the insole into a common, pocket-like component, whereupon the upper (1) is formed over a last and is joined to the sole (6) of the shoe, before the lasting process an ankle support (7) and/or an intermediate layer (9) which is provided with a foot bed is introduced into the pocket which is formed between the upper (1) and the lining (2).

Description

The invention relates to a process for producing shoes in which the upper and the lining are joined to the area which forms the insole into a common, pocket-like component, whereupon the upper is formed over a last and is joined to the sole of the shoe, and to a shoe which has been produced using this process.

In addition to conventional processes for producing shoes in which there is a multilayer structure and a corresponding outer is placed over a lining, optionally with the installation of an ankle support, and connection to the insole and outsole is undertaken, producing especially comfortable shoes generally made as slippers is known; this is done by stitching the upper to the lining on the upper edge of the shoe, the lining itself directly yielding also the foot bed area in the manner of a bag without a separate insole. This workmanship is also called “Sacchetto”. These highly flexible shoe materials which are thus very comfortable to wear and in which the shoe does not have a separate insole are characterized by high flexibility and high contour matching, altogether a structure resulting which can be very easily twisted. The finishing of these shoes in which the initially mentioned pocket-like component is joined only to the sole of the shoe generally takes place such that this pocket-like component which consists of an upper and lining is formed over a last and is cemented to the sole of the shoe. Generally in these shoes a sole construction without a heel is chosen, constructions also being conceivable with a heel integrated into the sole which in any case have only little torsional stiffness. The lining part area which is located above the outsole in this version, due to the selected material is likewise as soft as the remaining lining and therefore easily adapts to any contour.

In addition to a high level of comfort in wearing these simple shoes which can be produced with high quality materials, especially as a result of the low torsional stiffness there is however also the impression that such a shoe imparts inadequate support. Therefore in the past this manner of making shoes was limited to simple moccasins or slippers, if necessary desirable adaptations to physiological requirements in the area of the sole having been achieved by separate removable shoe soles to increase comfort in wearing. Removable shoe soles with a separate ankle support can be taken for example from German utility model G 8131084.6, these removable soles having had a built-in ankle support or one which can be separated from the removable sole. Improvements in the configuration of the foot bed can also be taken from DE 352758381, in which shaping according to biometric aspects encompasses the arrangement of cushion bodies of highly damping materials on a base body, the heel area of the foot bed also having been formed solely by cushion bodies. Insoles for shoes have generally been made with the corresponding ankle supports, and this proposal can be taken for example from DE 20001158 U1. This insole can be inserted as a removable sole into the shoe, or can be joined and especially cemented to the sole and contains stiffening layers which can be rigidly joined to the insole with the formation of an ankle support. In all these subsequent modifications of the foot bed or of the insole however the major advantage of the initially mentioned process is lost, according to which the inside lining is already placed in the corresponding position during the production process for production of the shoe, since only the upper is formed over a last and a finished, highly flexible shoe directly results. The object of the invention is to develop the initially mentioned process such that without major modification an enhancement of comfort in wearing and also the corresponding stiffening or the execution of an ankle support or of a foot bed are enabled, the advantages of the integrated lining being preserved and with this stiffening possibly also the wearing out or the permanent deformation of the soles of shoes with heels is reduced without adversely affecting the torsion properties to a noticeable degree. To achieve this object the process as claimed in the invention consists essentially in that before the lasting process an ankle support and/or an intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed is introduced into the pocket which is made between the upper and the lining. Because an ankle support and/or an intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed is inserted directly into the pocket which is characteristic of the process as claimed in the invention before the lasting process, it is possible without significantly changing the production process to directly achieve the desired stiffening or the desired support of the foot, the advantage being preserved unchanged that in a single process the lining can also be correctly positioned and fixed. Rather the particular feature of the initially mentioned production process is used according to which as the initial product there is a pocket-like component which consists of the upper and lining. In this process it is easily possible to ensure optimum matching to the physiological conditions of a foot by choosing a suitable last. Advantageously the process as claimed in the invention is carried out such that the ankle support and/or the intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed during the lasting process is cemented to the shaft and the sole. It is thus enough to push the ankle support and/or the intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed into the corresponding pocket, to form the upper over the last and in a single cementing process to complete the shoe, at the same time the ankle support and/or the intermediate layer which is provided with the foot bed being cemented in the chosen position.

The shoe as claimed in the invention with an upper, an inside lining and a sole, in which the inside lining forms or replace the insole and is joined on its top edge to the upper, and the upper is formed over a last and is joined to a sole, is characterized essentially in that an ankle support and/or intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed is located between the upper and the lining. Due to the pocket-like structure of the component consisting of the upper and inside lining, there are of course stitched sites here which are intended to correspond to the contour of the foot or the sole. In order to be able to accommodate these stitches without unwanted pressure points within the foot within the framework of an ankle support which is to be added, and to be able to use the advantages of the integrated soft lining without limitation, execution is advantageously done such that the ankle support is made essentially L-shaped in cross section and in the lengthwise direction of the sole has a groove which follows the contour of the seam of the inside lining for connection to the area of the inside lining which forms the insole, for accommodating this seam.

If in addition with this ankle support or intermediate layer also the comfort of wearing a shoe made with a heel is to be improved and wearing out in the area adjacent to the heel is to be reduced, the execution can be advantageously done such that the ankle support and/or the intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed has stiffeners or reinforcements which run in the lengthwise direction of the sole. The heel can however also be attained by the intermediate layer being made wedge-shaped with a thickness which increases toward the heel area so that wearing out in the area adjacent to the heel is prevented and at the same time stiffening which runs in the lengthwise direction of the sole can be abandoned.

According to another preferred version the ankle support is made in one piece with the intermediate layer so that the production process is simplified and simply one insert which is provided with a foot bed and which at the same time integrates the function of the ankle support need be inserted.

The invention is detailed below using one embodiment which is shown schematically in the drawings. In the drawings FIG. 1 shows a cross section through a shoe as claimed in the invention, FIG. 2 showing an overhead view of an ankle support as is used in FIG. 1. Furthermore FIG. 3 shows a modified version of the shoe in cross section, FIG. 4 a perspective view of the intermediate layer with the ankle support and FIG. 5 a side view of the version as shown in FIG. 3 in cross section.

FIG. 1 shows an upper 1 which in the area of the opening intended for entry of the foot is connected via a seam to a lining 2. The seam in the area of the entry opening is labelled 3 here. The component which consists of the lining 2 and the upper 1 is connected by additional seams 4 to a central lining area 5 which corresponds to the contour of the sole and assumes the function of an insole, consisting of the material of the lining. This pocket-like construction consisting of the upper 1, the lining 2 and the central lining area 5 can be especially easily assembled into a shoe, only the upper 1 having to be formed over a corresponding last and being able to be joined subsequently to the sole 6. Due to this highly flexible manner of construction, in this way a shoe is formed with low torsional stiffness and has the wearing comfort of a slipper. In order to impart additional stiffness and better support to such a shoe, an ankle support 7 is pushed into the pocket which is formed between the upper 1 and the lining 2 and only after positioning of this ankle support 7 are the corresponding lasting process and the connection to the sole 6 undertaken to complete the shoe. In order at this time to be able to accommodate the seam 4 without pressure points, the ankle support 7 has a corresponding groove 8 which follows the contour of the seam and which is visible even more clearly in FIG. 2. In FIG. 2 which simply showed the ankle support 7 in a top view [sic].

FIG. 3 shows another version of the shoe as claimed in the invention, in contrast to the version as shown in FIG. 1 there being an intermediate layer 9 which is inserted between the upper 1 and the inside lining 2. To increase comfort in wearing, the intermediate layer is provided with a foot bed. The intermediate layer 9 at the same time has an ankle support 7 so that both the foot bed and also the ankle support are implemented in a single layer which must be inserted in the production process between the upper and the inside lining. FIG. 4 shows that the insert 9 is made wedge-shaped so that an elevated heel area is achieved and altogether a stylish shoe is created. FIG. 5 shows the corresponding side view in a cross section, in turn the wedge shape of the insert 9 being recognizable. The height of the heel which is achieved by the wedge-shaped insert can of course be adapted accordingly to the respective wishes. Overall it is apparent that a single component need be inserted simply into the pocket which is formed between the upper 1 and the lining 2 in order to be able to complete the shoe without additional process measures and in the conventional manner and without influencing the torsion properties in the desired manner, and at the same time comfort in wearing can be enhanced.

Claims

1. Process for producing shoes in which the upper and the lining are joined to the area which forms the insole into a common, pocket-like component, whereupon the upper is formed over a last and is joined to the sole of the shoe, characterized in that before the lasting process an ankle support and/or an intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed is introduced into the pocket which is formed between the upper and the lining.

2. Process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the ankle support and/or the intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed during the lasting process is cemented to the shaft and the sole.

3. Shoe with an upper, an inside lining and a sole, in which the inside lining forms the insole and is joined on its top edge to the upper, and the upper is formed over a last and is joined to a sole, wherein the ankle support and/or the intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed is located between the upper and the lining.

4. Shoe as claimed in claim 3, wherein the ankle support is made essentially L-shaped in cross section and in the lengthwise direction of the sole has a groove which follows the contour of the seam of the inside lining for connection to the area of the inside lining which forms the insole, for accommodating this seam.

5. Shoe as claimed in claim 3, wherein the ankle support and/or the intermediate layer which is provided with a foot bed has stiffeners or reinforcements which run in the lengthwise direction of the sole.

6. Shoe as claimed in claim 3, wherein the intermediate layer is made wedge-shaped with a thickness which increases toward the heel area.

7. Shoe as claimed in claim 3, wherein the ankle support is made in one piece with the intermediate layer.
