Description

Picture/poster pal is a means through which to temporarily display 2 dimensional presentations of varied sizes through a process as simple as measuring the presentation piece and then slitting the decorated adhesive backed vinyl mitered faux molding strips in the middle to the needed size. Then place each of the four visibly complimentary varied shaped caps over the unsightly slits to provide a finished look.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This device is a solution to temporarily display and preserve various 2 dimensional pieces in a simple yet attractive manner. Since the mitered ends of the faux molding strips are pre-cut the consumer does not have to struggle with measuring the mitered angles correctly. The measurement task is reduced to measuring the presentation piece, subtracting 1″ and cutting that measurement from the 90° angle end of the self-adhesive vinyl molding strips. The four design complimenting caps, at least the same thickness as the accompanying molding, are then placed over the slits on all four sides in order to hide the unsightly cuts and to further provide a finished look.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An easy and attractive means to temporarily hang 2 dimensional pieces for display or protection.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 1A: Frame as packaged for consumer

FIG. 2A: Precision die-cut components. 4 moldings and 4 caps

FIG. 3A: Molding strips being cut to fit presentation piece

FIG. 4A: Finished product, caps in place

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The picture/poster pal set will provide four decorated die-cut molding strips to create a simulated 3 dimensional frame. Each strip will be the same width. Two of the strips will be the same length and the other two strips will be shorter (varied according to the design size). All four molding strips made of any repositionable adhesive backed vinyl or even pliable magnetic material will have a precision 45° miter at one end of each strip. The set will also contain four additional pieces called caps created in a design complementary to that of the molding strips. Each cap will be at least as wide as the molding. The mitered end of molding pieces can easily be placed at the corners of the presentation piece then cut at the center of the presentation piece for a nice even fit. The cut edges will be concealed by the caps to present a finished look.

Claims

1. An adjustable device for temporarily displaying pictures, posters, or other 2 dimensional presentation pieces.

2. The device can be easily trimmed to fit the presentation piece while maintaining the integrity of the 45° die-cut mitered corners.

3. The addition of the four design complimentary caps over the slits insures a finished look.
