Miracle Sand, a process that removes paint runs, orange peel and other flaws from latex paint, lacquer and other coatings with the use of Miracle Sand and a sanding sponge

Miracle Sand is a clear, biodegradable, zero volatile organic composition, environmentally safe spray product designed for an easier, safer and non-hazardous way of preparing, sanding and removing various flaws on freshly coated and/or previously coated wood, metal, masonry, drywall and plastic surface substrates without the mess and exposure to unsafe dust, sand particulate that can cause atmospheric health risks. Sanding sponges or sand paper are used with Miracle Sand in the flaw removal process; said process is as follows: Spray Miracle Sand liberally on the paint flawed surface. Wait less than a minute, then sand the paint flawed area with the sanding sponge or sand paper. When the flaw is removed, wipe off the remaining solution and sanding debris. Repeat entire process if surface is not smooth. Let surface dry, then coat with any finishing product.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

This invention relates to the commercial paint industry that sells both latex and oil-based paint products. Because of their popularity, the paint stores sell approximately 90% more latex products than oil-based products. Miracle Sand enables the painter to remove paint runs, orange peel and other paint flaws from latex paint, lacquers and other related coatings with the use of Miracle Sand and a sanding sponge.

2. Background of the Invention

Because of its superior results over oil-based paints, the painting industry now sells latex paint approximately 90% of the time for application to the following surfaces: uncoated, freshly or previously coated wood, metal, masonry drywall, and plastic. Some of the biggest problems the users of latex paint have encountered are paint runs, orange peel texture, or other flaws that occur after the paint has been applied. Because of its elastic nature, latex paint would have to “cure,” which is its hardening process, before the painter can attempt to smooth out the paint flaw. But even after several weeks of drying, the paint would create rubbery balls upon sanding. This result would render the finish of the painted surface unappealing and the paint job unprofessional. Miracle Sand eliminates these problems quickly and easily.

OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES

  • 1. Miracle Sand is biodegradable and environmentally safe.
  • 2. Miracle Sand comes in a simple to use spray container.
  • 3. Miracle Sand is very effective in removing paint flaws.
  • 4. Miracle Sand protects users from inhalation of toxic lead-based paint dust debris.

SUMMARY

Miracle Sand is a product that allows painters to sand latex paint products and other paint products as well. 90% of the paint products that are sold today are latex based. One of the biggest problems that come with using latex paint is trying to remove common paint flaws, such as paint runs, orange peel finish and other unsightly results. Latex paint has a rubbery texture when it dries. If a flaw exists, the painter tries to sand it to smooth it out, but because of the rubbery texture, the sanding procedure turns the sanded debris into rubbery balls, resulting in a messy finish. Miracle Sand quickly removes these flaws and leaves a smooth, sanded finish, and with a quick touch-up with a dab of paint leaves a lovely and professional finish.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Miracle Sand is a clear, biodegradable, zero volatile organic composition, safe spray product designed for an easier, safer and non-hazardous way of preparing, sanding and removing various paint flaws on freshly coated or previously coated wood, metal, masonry, drywall and plastic surface substrates without the mess and exposure to unsafe dust and sand particulate that can cause atmospheric health risks. Miracle Sand is a fluid that is sold in 16 oz. plastic bottles with an adjustable spray nozzle. Larger containers can be purchased to refill the 16 oz. bottles. Sanding sponges are an integral component to the Miracle Sand process and are sold at all paint stores. Sand paper can also be used in the sanding process.

  • Ingredients:
    • (1) Water (H2O) 98.7799% by weight.
    • (2) Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate 0.61% by weight.
    • (3). Sodium Laureth Sulfate 0.61% by weight.
    • (4) Apple Blossom Fragrance 0.0001% by weight.

Operation

Position the Miracle Sand adjustable spray nozzle three to six inches away from the previously coated surface. Spray Miracle Sand liberally and evenly over the entire surface to be sanded. Wait thirty to sixty seconds surface setting time to allow Miracle Sand to emulsify. Surface setting time may vary depending upon the surface hardness and sheen. Start preparing the surface by vigorously sanding with the sanding side of the sanding sponge until surface flaw is removed. Wipe the remaining solution, sand particulate or other contaminates with the sponge side of the sanding sponge. Rinse the sanding sponge in clear water. Inspect the sanded surface and repeat this process if necessary to achieve the desired result. Wipe the surface again with the sponge side of the sanding sponge and another application of Miracle Sand to remove any left over residue, wiping it down again and allow the surface to dry thoroughly. The surface has been prepared and is now ready for coating with any finishing product, i.e. paint, lacquer, etc.

CONCLUSION, RAMIFICATIONS AND SCOPE

Miracle Sand is very easy, fast and effective to use. Because it is harmless to the user and the environment, it is extremely safe as well. But it has a more important safety feature for people who must sand lead-based paint, an older product that is toxic and no longer made, but is still present in many older buildings, ships and machinery. When Miracle Sand is sprayed on a surface, it keeps the dust created in the sanding process from emitting into the air because it is moistened, thus helping to protect the user from inhaling lead dust. It is beneficial for residential, commercial and industrial properties, as well as machinery, shipyards, airlines, military use, etc.
