A slide bumper for the drawer comprises a set of control bumper at the slide end and a set of bumper seat at the slide front. The control bumper is an integral-formed extrusion having a hollow, a retaining collar enclosed around the periphery of the hollow, and a lug extended from the rim of the retaining collar at the front end and a side lever, a release lever and bumper lever at the rear end. The front end of the release lever has an indentation to receive the lug to ensure that the rear section of the control bumper is closely in contact along the slide wall without impairing the smooth movement of the slide. The bumper lever has a large cross section bumper face for accepting the counterpart of the bumper block on the bumper seat in the manner to prevent the slide from being derailed from the rail.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention concerns the innovation of the drawer components, in particular the bumper element for the cushion mechanism used on the multiple metal drawer cabinet.

2. Description of the Related Art

In most cases, the slide of the drawer is easy and incidentally to slide off the rail end when pulling the drawer out. There shall provide a bumper element to stop the slide being pulled off of the rail of the drawer.

The above mentioned bumper element consist of at least a control bumper installed at the rear end of the slide and a bumper seat mounted at the front end of the slide. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the control bumper 1′ is commonly used in the prior art of the slide mechanism of the drawer. The control bumper 1′ uses the retaining hollow 11′ and the rivet 3′ to fix it on the slide 2′. The control bumper 1′ is an integral-formed plastic piece. The side lever 12′, the release lever 13′ and the bumper lever 14′ are extended from the rear of the retaining hollow 11′. The cross section face 141′ of the bumper lever 14′ serves as a cushion to stop for the bumper seat and to prevent the slide 2′ sliding off the rail only when the release lever 13′ is pressed and the bumper lever 14′ is not in line with the cross section face 141′, the control bumper 1′ losses the function, and the slide 2′ is permitted to slide off the rail.

The control bumper 1′ is designed as an integral form plastic piece. Under the long time operation, the impact the cross section face 141′ has ever received will be transmitted to every corner of the control bumper 1′ and the counter force will eventually concentrate on the rim of the retaining hollow 11′ and finally the hollow 11′ will cracks down and break apart. The failure of the control bumper 1′ causes a short service span of the drawer slide

Using the rivet 3′ as a fastener to fix one end of the control bumper 1′ will render rising of the side lever 12′, release lever 13 and bumper lever 14′ at the other end which blockades the movement of the slide 2′.

The invention has advocated great efforts for years to improving the weaknesses of the prior art of the drawer slide and finally come up with this newly designed control bumper for drawer slide.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The unique technology this invention has applied is to employ the hollow design of the control bumper in an effort to disperse the counter force received to every corner of the control bumper, not converged to the weakest point of periphery of the hollow. This design will elongate the service span of the control bumper of the slide drawer; this is one the main objects of this invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 5, the control bumper of the slide drawer mainly consists of the control bumper 3 installed at the end of slide 2 and a bumper seat 4 mounted at the front-end rail 1.

Please refer to FIGS. 6 through 9, the control bumper 3 is an integral-form plate with a retaining hollow 31 designed at the front-end. The retaining hollow 31 extends on its rim the retaining collar 32 and an unconscious lug 33. At the rear end of the control bumper 3, there extends the side lever 34, the release lever 35 and the bumper lever 36 with an indentation 37 at the front-end of the release lever 35 which will receive the lug 33. The bumper lever 36 has a cross section face 361.

The control bumper 3 is fastened to the slide 2 by means of retaining collar 32 and rivet 5. When the lug 33 enters the indentation 37, the rear section of the control bumper 3 is always maintained in close contact along the slide 2 walls without raising the side lever 34, the release lever 35 and the bumper lever 36 allowing the slide 2 to move along the rail 1.

The bumper seat 4 is mounted at the front-end of the rail 1 aligned with the cross section face 361 of the bumper lever. While the slide 2 moves on the rail 1 and stops at the bumper block 41 of the bumper seat 4 when it closes to the cross section face 361 of bumper lever 36 to prevent the slide 2 being pulled off the rail 1 (see FIGS. 7 and 8).

It is well learned that in practice, the cross section face 361 of the bumper lever 36 will frequently receive the impacts, however, these counter force will be transmitted and dispersed to every corner of the control bumper 3, not converged on the retaining hollow 31 so as to alleviate the counter force on the retaining collar 32, so there will never occur the crack and break on the rim of the retaining collar 32 and the service span of control bumper is therefore longer.

As shown in FIG. 9, the release lever 35 of the control bumper 3 is pressed, the cross section face 361 of the bumper lever 36 is not inline with the bumper block 41 of the bumper seat 4, and the slide 2 is permitted to depart from the rail 1.

The control bumper for drawer slide as provided in this invention give longer service span and less trouble. It is a novel design justified for a grant of patent.

Claims

1. A bumper element for the slide drawer mainly comprises a set of the control bumper installed at the rear end of the slide and a bumper seat mounted at the front end of the slide with major characterizes presented below:

The control bumper is an integral-formed plate with a retaining hollow and a retaining collar extended from the periphery of the retaining hollow; said the retaining collar has interrupted rim and extended lug; said the rear end of the slide has a side lever, a release lever and a bumper lever; said the front end of the release lever has an indentation for receiving the lug; said the rear section of the control bumper is in close contact with slide wall without rising so the slide will move smoothly along the rail; said the bumper lever has a cross section face corresponding to the bumper block of the bumper seat which serves to stop the advance of the control bumper and prevent the slide off the rail; said the impact or the counter force the cross section face receives is dispersed to every corner of the control bumper, not concentrated on the collar, so the service span of the control bumper is elongated extremely.
