Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an adjustable divider apparatus for a golf bag, and more particularly to an adjustable divider apparatus that is mounted on the open top of a golf bag and has cross dividers and an elastic cord, wherein the cross dividers and elastic cord cooperate to define multiple partitions. So that allows users to allocate the golf clubs to their preferred numbers of dividers.

2. Description of Related Art

Golf is becoming increasingly popular, not only in countries where it has been played for decades but also in countries where it has relatively recently been developed. The standard equipment comprises a set of clubs, balls, and a stout bag to hold everything. A standard set of golf clubs has woods, Irons wedges and putters. With reference to FIG. 6, a conventional golf bag (70) has an open top and a frame (60). The frame (60) is mounted on the open top and has an inner surface and multiple dividers. The dividers are mounted on the inner surface of the frame (60) to define multiple partitioned spaces inside the frame (60) allowing golf clubs of different types to respectively extend through the partitioned spaces into the golf bag (70).

However, the frame (60) for the golf bag (70) has the disadvantages as follows:

1. The frame (60) is formed integrally with stationary number of the dividers. Thus, the number and dimensions of the partitioned spaces are unchangeable and may not be large enough in either size or quantity to correspond to the required quantity of the golf clubs.

2. The golf clubs inside the same partitioned space in the frame (60) shake and collide with each other when a person moves the golf bag with the frame (60). The frequent collisions of the golf clubs due to the movement of the golf bag damage the golf clubs and shorten the durability of the golf clubs, as well as spoiling their appearance.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides an adjustable divider apparatus for a golf bag to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the invention is to provide an adjustable divider apparatus for a golf bag that can redefine the partitioned spaces inside the adjustable divider apparatus and change the number of the partitioned spaces to correspond to the golf clubs of different types and prevent collision among the golf clubs.

An adjustable divider apparatus for a golf bag in accordance with the present invention comprises a partitioning frame, a divider assembly and multiple fasteners.

The partitioning frame has an annular inner and outer surface.

The divider assembly has two dividers mounted on the annular inner surface and each divider has multiple mounting holes.

The fasteners are mounted detachably into the mounting holes.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, an adjustable divider apparatus in accordance with the present invention is used with a golf bag (40). The golf bag (40) has an open top.

The adjustable divider apparatus for a golf bag in accordance with the present invention is mounted on the open top of the golf bag (40) and comprises a partitioning frame (10), a divider assembly (20) and multiple fasteners (30).

The partitioning frame (10) is annular and has an inside annular surface, an outer annular surface, an open top, an open bottom, multiple mounting sleeves (11) and an elastic cord (12).

The mounting sleeves (11) are mounted securely on the outer surface of the partitioning frame (10), and arranged annularly. Each mounting sleeve (11) has a mounting hole defined through the mounting sleeve (11). The elastic cord (12) is mounted sequentially through all of the mounting holes in the mounting sleeves (11) to define multiple cord sections respectively between each adjacent two of the mounting sleeves (11). The elastic cord (12) has two ends. The ends of the elastic cord (12) are connected to each other to make the elastic cord (12) a loop.

The divider assembly (20) is mounted securely on the inner surface of the frame (10) and has two cross dividers (21, 22) and at least one median divider (23). The cross dividers (21, 22) are bar-like, are mounted securely on the inner surface of the frame (10), and spaced apart. Each divider (21, 22) has a top surface, two ends and multiple mounting holes (211, 221). The ends of the cross divider (21, 22) are mounted securely on the inner annular surface of the frame (10). The mounting holes are defined in the top surface of the cross divider (21, 22) and are arranged at intervals. The at least one median divider (23) is mounted between the cross dividers (21, 22). The cross dividers (21, 22) and the at least one median divider (23) cooperate with the partitioning frame (10) to define a right side partitioned space, a left side partitioned space, a front side partitioned space and a rear side partitioned space inside the frame (10).

The fasteners (30) are mounted detachably in the mounting holes (211, 221) of the cross dividers (21, 22) and each fastener (30) has a tapered head (31) and a mounting post (32).

The tapered head (31) abuts the top surface above the one of the mounting holes (21, 22) in the cross divider (21, 22) and has a large top surface and a small bottom surface. The mounting post (32) is formed on the small bottom surface of the fastener (30) and mounted detachably into the mounting holes (211, 221) in the cross divider (21, 22).

With reference to FIG. 3, the golf bag (40) assembled with the adjustable divider apparatus in accordance with the present invention carries golf clubs (50) of different types such as woods, putters and Irons wedges. One cord section of the looped elastic cord (12) close to the left side partitioned space is pulled expansively across the tapered head (31) of one of the fasteners (30) on the cross divider (22) and is hooked by the fastener (30). The hooked cord section cooperates with the cross divider (22) and the frame (10) to divide the left side partitioned space into three right side sub spaces. Another cord section of the elastic cord (12) cooperates with the cross divider (21) and the frame (10) by hooking on the fastener (30) to divide the right side partitioned space into three right side sub spaces. Then the golf clubs (30) respectively extend through the sub spaces, the front and back partitioned spaces and are inserted into the golf bag (40).

With reference to FIG. 4, the fastener (30) close to the right side partitioned space is detached from one of the mounting holes (211), is mounted into another mounting hole (211) and hooks the cord section of the elastic cord (12) again so that dimensions of the right side sub spaces change as per a user's need. In addition, hooking different cord sections of the elastic cord (12) between adjacent two mounting sleeves (11) with the fastener (30) in the position can also achieve the objective of changing the dimensions of the sub spaces.

With reference to FIG. 5, two of cord sections are pulled respectively across and hook the golf clubs (50). The cord sections restrict the movement of the golf clubs (50) with elastic forces and prevent the golf clubs (50) from shaking when the golf bag (40) is moved.

The elastic cord (12) cooperates with the partitioning frame (10) and the divider assembly (20) to define several sub spaces inside the frame (10). The golf clubs (50) can respectively extend through the sub spaces according the types of the golf clubs so as a golfer can choose a specific golf club (50) conveniently. When the golf bag (40) is being moved, the cord sections restrict the movement of the golf clubs (10) with the elastic forces to prevent the golf clubs (10) shaking and colliding with each other. Therefore, the durability of the golf clubs is improved.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
