Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Technical Field of the Invention

The present invention relates a rectangular storage box and more particularly, to a cover for rectangular storage box that is folding collapsible.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

In order to save storage space, many storage box suppliers provide different designs of folding collapsible storage boxes. A folding collapsible storage box is known comprising a flexible rectangular cloth box body and a plurality of rod members supporting the cloth box body in shape. These rod members include four horizontal top rods, four horizontal bottom rods, and four vertical corner rod members. When assembled, the rod members are kept spaced from one another at a distance so that the storage box can be twisted and then folded into a flat status having a reduced size. However, the cover of this design of storage box is foldable to reduce the size.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary purpose of the present invention is to accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a rectangular box cover for rectangular storage box, which is folding collapsible to reduce the size when not in use. According to one aspect of the present invention, the rectangular cover box has a rectangular base panel, two end flaps and two side flaps disposed at the four sides of the rectangular base panel and turnable relative to the base panel between a horizontal position and a vertical position, and first and second fastening members respectively provided at the ends of the end flaps and the ends of the side flaps for locking the end flaps and the side flaps in the vertical position. According to another aspect of the present invention, the base panel has a transverse folding line on the middle, and the two side flaps each have a transverse cut corresponding to the transverse folding line of the base panel. Along the transverse folding line of the base panel and the transverse cuts of the side flaps, the rectangular box cover can be folded up to reduce the size. According to still another aspect of the present invention, the end flaps and the side flaps each have the respective two distal ends beveled, and bellows-like connecting members of flexible material are respectively connected between the ends of the end flaps and the ends of the side flaps, allowing turning of the end flaps and the side flaps relative to the base panel between the horizontal position and the vertical position.

The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts. Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a rectangular box cover 1 in accordance with the first embodiment of the present invention is shown comprising a rectangular base panel 10, two end flaps 12 at two short sides of the base panel 10, two side flaps 13 at two long sides of the base panel 10, folding lines 14 respectively extending between the four sides of the base panel 10 and the end flaps 12 and side flaps 13, a plurality of first fastening members, for example, male fastening members 15 respectively provided at the ends of the end flaps 12 at an inner side, and a plurality of second fastening members, for example, female fastening members 16 respectively provided at the ends of the side flaps 13 at an outer side corresponding to the male fastening members 15. According to this embodiment, the male fastening members 15 are strips of hook material, and the female fastening members 16 of strips of loop material connectable to the strips of hook material. By means of turning the end flaps 12 and the side flaps 14 from a horizontal position to a vertical position relative to the base panel 10 and then securing the respective male fastening members 15 to the respective female fastening members 16, the rectangular box cover 1 is set in shape. Further, the base panel 10 has a transverse folding line 11 transversely extending across the width on the middle, and the side flaps 13 each have a transverse cut 17 in line with the transverse folding line 11. When not in use, the male fastening members 15 are respectively disengaged from the respective female fastening members 16, and then the end flaps 12 and the side flaps 13 are respectively turned outwards relative to the base panel 10 from the vertical position to the horizontal position, and then the base panel 10 is folded up (see FIG. 2).

FIGS. 3 and 4 show a rectangular box cover 1 according to the second embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment is substantially similar to the aforesaid first embodiment with the exception that the base panel 10 has two transverse folding lines 1 that divide the base panel 10 into three equal parts, and the side flaps 13 each have two transverse cuts 17 corresponding to the two transverse folding lines 11 of the base panel 10.

FIGS. 5 and 6 show a rectangular box cover 1 according to the third embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, the end flaps 12 and the side flaps 13 each have the respective two distal ends beveled, and bellows-like connecting members 18 of flexible material are respectively connected between the ends of the end flaps 12 and the ends of the side flaps 13, allowing turning of the end flaps 12 and the side flaps 13 relative to the base panel 10 between the horizontal position and the vertical position. It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
