CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of related Chinese Application No. 200420055077.0, filed on Dec. 22, 2004.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present utility model relates to winding devices that guide or ensure sequential coiling of steel cables or chains. In particular, it relates to a reel for hoses.

BACKGROUND

In the current art, a hose reel comprises a winding drum around which a hose is coiled. When the hose is coiled by turning the winding drum, the coil of hose around the winding drum becomes very messy. If one wants to arrange the hose neatly, one needs to manually put the hose in sequential order. During this procedure, one hand turns the winding drum, and the other hand holds the hose to put it in sequential order. Thus, the act of coiling requires much effort and is highly inconvenient.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The present utility model aims to solve technical problems by providing a hose reel that coils hose neatly, that is convenient and easy to use, and that has a simple structure.

The present utility model is achieved by means of the following:

A hose reel, comprising a winding drum and a support. The winding drum is mounted on the support. A hose is coiled around the winding drum. Its main structural elements are: It further comprises a positioning assembly. The positioning assembly comprises a guide rod, a positioning unit, and two springs. The positioning unit is slidably mounted on the guide rod. The two ends of the guide rod rest on the support. The two springs fit over the guide rod and are separately disposed on two sides of the positioning unit. The positioning unit has a hose hole, and the hose passes out through this hose hole.

Thus, when the hose coils around the drum, the hose passes out through the hose hole in the positioning unit. When the winding drum is rotated to coil the hose, the hose that wraps around the winding drum exerts a lateral force on the hose hole in the positioning unit, causing the hose that is being coiled around the winding drum to be coiled sequentially. In addition, the positioning unit guides the hose along the guide rod.

When the hose is coiled to the very end of the winding drum, the positioning unit, under the lateral force of the hose, compresses the spring on the guide rod. This causes a recovery action in the spring, moving the positioning unit in the other direction and thus guiding the hose to coil in the other direction. Therefore, one needs only to rotate the winding drum, and the hose, under its own lateral force and the guiding action of the guide rod, will coil neatly and in the proper order. It is convenient and easy to use.

The specific structure of the present utility model is as follows:

When the hose, passing through the hose hole in the positioning unit, is pulled out or is coiled, the hose rubs against the hose hole. This might damage the hose, and it might also cause abrasion. Therefore:

The positioning assembly further comprises a first guide wheel and a second guide wheel. The first guide wheel and the second guide wheel each comprises a wheel body and an axle. The first guide wheel and the second guide wheel are mounted in the positioning unit. The two axles are parallel, and the hose is positioned between the first guide wheel and the second guide wheel. The guide rod passes through the first guide wheel along the axis of the first guide wheel.

Thus, by means of rolling friction of this sort, the friction between the hose and the positioning unit is reduced, and damage to the hose is prevented. Furthermore, the hose can be drawn out or coiled with greater ease.

The structure of the first guide wheel and the second guide wheel can be described in further detail, thus:

The lateral wheel faces of the wheel bodies of the first guide wheel and the second guide wheel are semicircular. The wheel faces of the first guide wheel and the second guide wheel combine to form a round hole. The hose passes through this round hole.

The wheel body and axle of the first guide wheel are an integral structure.

Of course, the axle and wheel body of the first guide wheel can also be separate structures.

Because hoses vary in width, and because the action of drawing out or coiling the hose will squeeze it, the second guide wheel can be slidably mounted on the positioning unit. The specific structure is:

The positioning unit has a slot. The axle of the second guide wheel slides in this slot. A position-limiting spring is mounted in this slot and is positioned on a side opposite to the first guide wheel. One end of this position-limiting spring rests against a side wall of the top end of the slot. The other end rests against the axle of the second guide wheel, causing the second guide wheel to press down in the direction of the first guide wheel.

Thus, by means of this position-limiting spring, it is possible to adjust the gap between the first guide wheel and the second guide wheel.

The end of the second guide wheel axle that slides in the slot is flat. It has a protuberance on the side that comes into contact with the position-limiting spring. The position-limiting spring fits in this protuberance.

To summarize the above, the present utility model is superior to the current art in the following ways: A positioning device is mounted on a hose reel. By rotating the winding drum, one can cause the hose to coil sequentially on the winding reel. It is characterized by neat and orderly coiling of the hose, convenience and ease of use, and simplicity of structure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a structural schematic diagram of the present utility model.

FIG. 2 is a structural schematic structural diagram of the positioning assembly of the present utility model.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

With reference to FIG. 1, a hose reel includes a winding drum 1 and a support. The winding drum 1 is mounted on the support. A hose is coiled around the winding drum 1. The hose reel further comprises a positioning assembly 2 that includes a guide rod 21, a positioning unit 22, and two springs 23. The positioning unit 22 is slidably mounted on the guide rod 21. The two ends of the guide rod 21 rest on the support. The two springs 23 fit over the guide rod 21 and are separately disposed on two sides of the positioning unit 22. The positioning unit 22 has a hose hole. The hose passes out through this hose hole. When the winding drum 1 is rotated to coil the hose, the hose that wraps around the winding drum 1 exerts a lateral force on the hose hole in the positioning unit 22, causing the hose that is being coiled around the winding drum 1 to be coiled sequentially. In addition, the positioning unit 22 guides the hose along the guide rod 21. When the hose is coiled to the very end of the winding drum 1, the positioning unit 22, under the lateral force of the hose, compresses the spring 23 on the guide rod 21. This causes a recovery action in the spring 23, moving the positioning unit 22 in the other direction and thus guiding the hose to coil in the other direction.

With reference to FIG. 2, the positioning assembly 2 further comprises a first guide wheel 24 and a second guide wheel 25. The first guide wheel 24 and the second guide wheel 25 each comprises a wheel body and an axle. The first guide wheel 24 and the second guide wheel 25 are mounted in the positioning unit 22. The two axles are parallel, and the hose is positioned between the first guide wheel 24 and the second guide wheel 25. The guide rod 21 passes through the first guide wheel 24 along the axis of the first guide wheel 24. The lateral wheel faces of the wheel bodies of the first guide wheel 24 and the second guide wheel 25 are semicircular. The wheel faces of the first guide wheel 24 and the second guide wheel 25 combine to form a round hole. The hose passes through this round hole. The wheel body and axle of the first guide wheel 24 are an integral structure; the axle and wheel body rotate together. The second guide wheel 25 is slidably mounted on the positioning unit 22. The positioning unit 22 has a slot 221. The axle of the second guide wheel 25 slides in this slot 221. This slot 221 has a position-limiting spring 251 on a side opposite the first guide wheel 24. One end of this position-limiting spring 251 rests against a side wall of the top end of the slot 221. The other end rests against the axle of the second guide wheel 25, causing the second guide wheel 25 to press down in the direction of the first guide wheel 24. The end of the second guide wheel 25 axle that slides in the slot 221 is flat. It has a protuberance on the side that comes into contact with the position-limiting spring 251. The position-limiting spring 251 fits in this protuberance. As a result, the gap between the first guide wheel 24 and the second guide wheel 25 can be adjusted.

The part of this embodiment that was not described is the same as the current art.
