System for composing a wording or a personalization on garments and accessories, such as collars, belts, or the like

Each of a plurality of components (5) with alphabetical symbols (5A) or the like is provided with a rear stud (7), having a non-circular section on which there can engage a retention discoid (9); in the ribbon-like element (1) there is made a series of holes having a size corresponding to the cross section of said rear studs (7) so as to enable engagement of pre-chosen components in contiguous holes (3) of said ribbon-like element (1).

Description

The subject of the invention is a system for composing a wording, a symbol, or any other form of personalization or identification on garments, and accessories for garments, made of cloth, leather, or the like, such as a ribbon-like element, such as a collar, a belt or other supporting elements.

The object of the invention is to make it possible to carry out, without recourse to particular tools and even extemporaneously, the operations for applying the necessary components on a support. Thanks to this, there are avoided all the complications that other currently known systems having the same purposes entail.

The system in question substantially comprises:

a plurality of components with alphabetical symbols or the like; each provided with a rear stud;

retention discoids, each designed to be stably engaged to one such rear stud; and

in the supporting element, at least one hole or a series of holes having sizes corresponding to the cross section of said rear studs.

It is thus possible to engage one or more pre-chosen components, for example in contiguous holes of a supporting element in order to compose a specific wording or the like.

Said holes and the corresponding cross section of said rear studs have a markedly non-circular shape in order to ensue a predetermined angular positioning of said components with respect to the supporting element.

A number of holes in said supporting element may be elongated in the direction of the longitudinal development of the wording on said supporting element so as to enable use of these holes also for other functions, for example for buckles with prong or the like in supporting elements such as belts or collars.

Advantageously, for reasons of economy of production, various symbols—such as letters of the alphabet—can be applied also extemporaneously to said components.

In a possible embodiment, the retention discoids have a calibrated hole having a shaped edge, or alternatively a ring of elastic appendages, for co-operating with a corresponding shaping—mainly annular—in order to engage by forcing and by snap action the discoid in said rear stud.

In another possible embodiment, the discoids have a shaped appendage, and the studs have an axial seat for receiving and withholding said appendage.

The various types of components are suited for being made of molded synthetic resin or metal, or with parts made of synthetic resin and parts made of metal.

For a better understanding of the invention, useful reference may be made to the following description and the attached drawing, which shows a non-limiting practical exemplification of the invention itself. In the drawing:

FIG. 1 shows a ribbon-like element such as a belt or a collar;

FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 are, respectively, a front view, a cross-sectional view according to the line III-III of FIG. 2, and a rear view according to the line IV-IV of FIG. 3 of a segment of said element;

FIGS. 15 and 16 are, respectively, a side view and a view according to the line XVI-XVI of FIG. 15 of a retention discoid according to said variant embodiment;

FIGS. 17 to 22 show three embodiments of the component for application of the symbols, such as letters of the alphabet or the like;

FIG. 23 shows the shape of a plurality of symbols that can be applied to the components of FIGS. 17 to 22;

FIG. 24 illustrates said component coupled to a symbol; and

FIGS. 25 to 28 illustrate four embodiments of the system for coupling a component to be equipped with a symbol on a rear retention discoid.

According to what is shown in FIGS. 1 to 9, the reference number 1 designates the supporting element, which in the drawing is shown as a ribbon-like element, such as a belt or else a collar, or the like. Said flexible ribbon-like element (or other supporting element) has a series of holes 3 having a non-circular cross section, which can be elongated in the longitudinal direction of the ribbon-like element 1. Designated by 5 is a component with a symbol 5A, which may be, for example, a symbol forming part of a series of alphabetical symbols or other equivalent ones, including numeric symbols, or symbols of any other nature. Said component 5 provided with the symbol 5A has advantageously a discoidal shape but may also have any other shape that will require a precise positioning in the angular direction. The component 5 has a rear stud 7, the cross section of which corresponds substantially to that of the holes 3, with a possible limited reduction of the largest dimension in order to facilitate placing and possibly enable adjustment of the position of the component 5 within the limits of the difference in cross section. The stud 7 has at its end 7A an annular shaping 7B of limited depth, having the purposes defined in what follows.

Designated by 9 is a retention discoid, which can have a simply circular shape and has a central hole 9A with shaped edge designed to co-operate with the shaping 7B at the end 7A of the rear stud 7 of the component 5, 5A.

With this embodiment, a component 5, 5A can be engaged in one of the holes 3 of the ribbon-like element 1 by causing the stud 7 to penetrate in the hole 3 and by engaging the component 5, 5A by means of forcing via snap action of the retention discoid 9, which engages with the shaped hole 7A at the shaping 7B of the rear stud 7. The angular position of the component 5, 5A remains well defined on account of the non-circular shaping of the hole 3, which co-operates with the non-circular section of the rear stud 7 of the component 5, 5A.

The various components 5, 5A are provided with different symbols 5A, so that it is possible to choose from the series of components 5, 5A the ones suitable for composing the wording or any other personalization symbol that it is intended to create with the various components 5 on the ribbon-like element 1 by applying in succession the pre-chosen components 5 in the consecutive holes 3.

The various components 5 with the symbols 5A may be made of any suitable material, and advantageously the symbols 5A can be applied to a structure, which comprises the component 5 and the stud 7 and which is the same for all the components differentiated from one another on account of the symbol 5A that appears.

The components 5, 7 and the discoids 9 may both, or at least one of them, advantageously be made of metal.

FIGS. 10 and 11 illustrate another embodiment—which, for convenience of representation, are considerably enlarged—of a discoid 109 equivalent to the discoid 9, but made of two parts 109A and 109B, which can is each be made of metal and/or synthetic resin. Said two parts 105A and 109B are fitted together by force fit and/or by deformation and/or by gluing. The part 109B has a ring of elastic appendages 109C developed towards the inside and designed to engage by snap action in the aforesaid grooves 7B, when the stud 7 is made to penetrate into said ring of appendages 109C and into a hole 109E.

FIGS. 12 to 16 illustrate a solution equivalent to the ones described above, with components 15, 15A equivalent to the components 5, 5A and provided with a rear stud 17 equivalent to the rear stud 7 but modified to present an axial seat 17A instead of the shaping 7B. To operate with said components 15, 15A, 17 discoids 19 are envisaged substantially equivalent to the discoids 9 but which, instead of the shaping 9A, have an appendage 19A shaped so as to enable insertion by force fit in the seat 17A of the stud 17. Also in this case, there can be applied a series of components 15, 15A for composing a wording or any other type of personalization in the holes 3 of the ribbon-like element 1; fixing is obtained by forcing the appendage 19A into the beat 17A merely by pressure, even a manual pressure, or using a tool that is readily available such as a hammer or a pair of pliers, or some other equivalent implement.

FIGS. 17 to 24 illustrate a further embodiment and a mode of application of letters of the alphabet and other symbols 55A (of the type like the ones designated by 5A and 15A) on components 55 (of the type like the ones designated by 5 or 15). Each of the symbols 55A has rear studs 105 numbering two or three and in different positions according to the shape of the symbols 55A. Accordingly, the components 55 have holes 255 designed to receive the studs, which are anchored therein by force fit and/or gluing. According to FIGS. 18, 20 and 22 just three types of positions of said holes and hence of said studs are envisaged. The user or the seller can thus compose combinations of symbols as required, having available an easily manageable store.

FIGS. 25, 26, 27 and 28 show different shapes of rear studs 7X, 7Y, 9Z, 9W (equivalent to the ones designated by 7 or 19) and of the corresponding seats 9X, 9Y, 7Z and 7W for mutual coupling, by means of snap action, annular retention, and threads.

FIGS. 25 to 28 also show possible embodiments of the coupling of the front component 55, which must carry a symbol 55A, with a rear retention discoid 9. All these shapes envisage a plug 7X, 7Y, 9Z, 9W and a seat 9X, 9Y, 7Z, 7W, designed to receive and anchor the corresponding plug.

It is understood that the drawings only shows a simplified embodiment, provided purely by way of practical demonstration of the invention, given that the present invention may vary in its shapes and arrangements, without thereby, however, departing from the scope of the underlying idea of the invention itself. The possible presence of reference numbers in the attached claims has the purpose, of facilitating reading thereof with reference to the description and, to the plate of drawings, and in no way limits the sphere of protection represented by said claims.

Claims

1. A system for applying a component to a perforated supporting element, such as a garment, an accessory for garments, or the like, for example, for composing a wording or a personalization in a ribbon-like element, such as a collar, a belt, or the like, characterized in that it comprises: a component or a plurality of components with alphabetical symbols or other types of symbol and with a rear stud; retention discoids designed to be engaged to the rear stud; and a series of holes, made in the supporting element, having sizes corresponding to the cross section of said rear studs to enable engagement of said pre-chosen component or components in holes, which are contiguous or set apart from one another, of said supporting element.

2. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that said holes and the corresponding cross section of said rear studs have a markedly non-circular shape to ensure a predetermined angular positioning of said components with respect to said supporting element.

3. The system according to claim 2, characterized in that said hole or holes of said supporting element is/are elongated in the direction of the longitudinal development of the series of holes in said supporting element.

4. The system according to at least one of claim 1, characterized in that said symbols are applied or can be applied extemporaneously to said components.

5. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that said retention discoids have a calibrated circular hole with shaped edge, for cooperating with a corresponding annular shaping of the end of the stud for force-it engagement by snap action of the discoid.

6. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that said retention discoids have a circular hole and a ring of elastic appendages for cooperating with a corresponding annular shaping of the end of the stud, for force-fit engagement by snap action of the discoid.

7. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that said discoids have a shaped appendage, and the studs have an axial seat for receiving and withholding said appendage.

8. The system according to claim 1, characterized in that the symbols are provided—according to their morphology—with two or three anchorage studs designed to encounter stable engagement in corresponding seats of the component designed for coupling, or vice versa.

The system according to claim 8, characterized in that the studs in each symbol number p items, with p equal to 2 or 3, and are set in different positions, the components designed to couple to said symbols being different from one another according to n groups having holes positioned accordingly with respect to the studs.

10. A system for composing a wording or a personalization on garments, accessories for garments, or other articles, such as collars, belts, or the like; the foregoing as described herein and represented above by way of example in the annexed drawing.
