Portable pocket
A Portable Pocket that is both unique and versatile. Although there is nothing unique about a pocket itself, it is in its design and function that sets it apart from anything else on the market. The extension of the hook and loop fastener past both top ends of the pocket makes it extremely strong. Without that extension beyond the pocket, when the pocket was filled it would simply pull on the top corners and eventually fall off. The hook and loop fasteners also makes it portable and can be attached to any smooth surface without the use of tools.
The present application is a continuation-in-part application of U.S. provisional patent application, Ser. No. 60/655,060, filed Feb. 22, 2005, for MESH POCKET, by Todd Joseph Emmerich, included by reference herein and for which benefit of the priority date is hereby claimed.
FIELD OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a portable pocket and, more particularly to a pocket that can be moved to different locations and be used for many different applications.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONPockets have been used in many applications for many years from textiles to the automotive industry. Manufactured in many different materials, sizes and shapes. But most are designed for a specific application and not meant to be removed. The problem with this type of pocket is if you would like to take the items that you store in these pockets with you, you would have to remove them from the pocket.
In resent years plastic storage totes and bins have become very popular. They are used for storing holiday decorations, hunting gear, camping gear and anything else you can fit in them. The one set back of these storage totes is the smaller items always end up on the bottom of the tote. So there becomes a need for a pocket on either the inside or the outside of the tote for these small items. The pocket should be portable as to be able to move it from one tote to another. Or from the tote to a camper, boat or RV without having to remove the items from the pocket it self.
Its not the size of the pocket or the materials used that is important but the design of the pocket that makes it not only portable but extremely strong.
Past inventors have come up with solutions for specific storage problems, but lack the versatility and most importantly the strength in their designs. Previous inventions are described, for example, in United States Patent NO. DES. 335,008, issued to David L. Abel for Clothes and Shoe Holder for Cloths Dryer and U.S. Pat. No. 6,105,844 issued to Waltes, Klein, Freese, Micoley and Klos for Cooler FIG. 10 secondary storage compartment.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide storage for smaller items inside storage containers, boats, garages, homes, campers or RV's.
It is another object of the invention to provide a pocket that can be moved to different locations.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn accordance with the present invention, there is provided a Portable Pocket that is both unique and versatile.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGSA complete understanding of the present invention may be obtained by reference to the accompanying drawings, when considered in conjunction with the subsequent, detailed description, in which:
For purposes of clarity and brevity, like elements and components will bear the same designations and numbering throughout the Figures.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
In operation the Portable pocket 26 has the ability to hang from many different surfaces found in homes, automobiles, boats, campers and garages. When used with a hook and loop adhesive Attachment material 12, it becomes a Portable pocket 26, that can be moved from one location to another. The Portable pocket 26 could also be attached to a surface with hardware such as bolts, screws, clips or alike materials. It is not necessarily the pocket or its size that makes this invention unique. It is in its design and function that is like nothing else currently on the market. The key element of this invention is the Extension 10 of the Attachment material 12, extending past either side of the pocket along the top edge. This Extension 10 makes it extremely strong but yet can be removed and relocated, when hook and loop Attachment material 12 is used, with the contents of the pocket still inside. When the Portable pocket 26 is filled, the main pressure point is along the top edge where the Front panel 16 and Back panel 18 are attached to the Attachment material 12. Without Extension 10, extending past the Front panel 16 and Back panel 18 the pocket would simply fall off.
Thus, in summary, it can be seen that what is provided in this invention is a Portable pocket 26 that is unique in its design and function.
Since other modifications and changes varied to fit particular operating requirements and environments will be apparent to those skilled in the art, the invention is not considered limited to the example chosen for purposes of disclosure, and covers all changes and modifications which do not constitute departures from the true spirit and scope of this invention.
Having thus described the invention, what is desired to be protected by Letters Patent is presented in the subsequently appended claims.
