A packing box for accommodating goods is provided that includes a bottom part, and a lateral wall part extending from the bottom part, and along the circumference thereof. The packing box further includes a supporting part extending upward from the lateral wall part and able to be bent inward. The supporting part has a supporting hole for retaining the goods. Thus, the packing box is capable of receiving and supporting goods without use of shock absorber material for supporting goods.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit under 35 U.S.C. § 119(a) of Korean Patent Application No. 2005-0018393, filed on Mar. 5, 2005, the entire disclosure of which is hereby incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a packing box. More particularly, the present invention relates to a packing box for accommodating and supporting goods without employing shock absorber material.

2. Description of the Related Art

Conventionally, various electric appliances are packed using material for protecting goods against damage due to an external impact during transport. A conventional packing box, as disclosed for example in Korean Utility First Publication No. 1986-11808, has a first and second inner covers. A description is printed on both inner covers for user recognition.

In the case of a conventional packing box, a shock absorbing material, such as Styrofoam, is needed to support the goods within the packing box to prevent them from moving around inside the packing box. The shock absorber also serves to protect the goods against damage due to an external impact. Consequently, if a structure can be provided within a packing box to prevent goods from moving and to protect goods against damage due to an external impact without using a shock absorber, the shock absorber can be omitted. Thus, manufacturing costs can be decreased, and the inconvenience of putting the shock absorber in the packing box eliminated.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a packing box for receiving and supporting goods without using a shock absorber.

The foregoing and other aspects of the invention are realized by providing a packing box for accommodating goods, including a bottom part, a lateral wall part extending from the bottom part and provided along the circumference thereof, and a supporting part extending upward from the lateral wall part and configured to be bent inward, the supporting part can be configured to comprise a supporting hole to receive goods.

The supporting part may be formed in a pair and configured so that one faces the other. Each supporting part may comprise a first supporting part mounted oppositely to the lateral wall part, and a second supporting part extended upward from the first supporting part and adapted to be bent at a transverse direction, thereby forming the supporting hole.

One of the pair of supporting parts may be provided with a first supporting projection and the other supporting part provided with a first supporting slot adapted to receive the first supporting projection and a second supporting projection.

A portion of the lateral wall part may be provided with a second supporting slot adapted to receive the second supporting projection.

The packing box may further comprise a cover part extending upward from the lateral wall part and adapted to be bent and spaced apart from the supporting part.

The cover part may comprise a lower cover part having an upper side and configured to cover an upper opening formed by the lateral wall part, and an upper cover part coupled to the upper side of the lower cover part.

The lower cover part may be provided with a lower fitting projection and the upper cover part provided with an upper fitting projection and projection groove for receiving the lower fitting projection. The upper cover part may also be adapted to couple with a portion of the supporting part having a projection groove and upper fitting projection.

Other objects, advantages, and salient features of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description, which, taken in conjunction with the attached drawings, discloses exemplary embodiments of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS

The matters exemplified in this description, such as a detailed construction and elements thereof, are provided to assist in a comprehensive understanding of the embodiments of the invention disclosed. Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention.

Referencing FIGS. 1 and 2, a packing box in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention has four lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, and 14; that is, a first lateral wall part 11, a second lateral wall part 12, a third lateral wall part 13, and a fourth lateral wall part 14. The packing box has a bottom part 1 covering a lower end opening formed by the four lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14, which are adaptable to form an accommodating space for confining goods. Hereinafter, as a matter of convenience, the four lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14 will be expressed in terms of ordinal numbers—first through fourth lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14.

In the following illustrative description, an exemplary implementation of a packing box for accommodating and supporting goods according to an embodiment of the present invention is configured to accommodate a speaker 103. A packing box according to such an exemplary implementation has a lower supporting part 20 extending upward from an upper end part of the first lateral wall part 11 and for supporting a speaker 103 (see FIG. 6); an upper supporting part 23 extending upward from an upper end part of the second lateral wall part 12 and for supporting the speaker 103; a lower cover part 30 extending upward from an upper end part of the third lateral wall part 13 and for covering an upper end part opening formed by the first through fourth lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14; and an upper cover part 31 extending upward from an upper end part of the fourth lateral wall part 14 for mounting in an upper side of the lower cover part 30.

The lower supporting part 20 has a first lower supporting part 21 extending from the upper end part of the first lateral wall part 11 and for supporting a stand part 102 of speaker 103, and a second lower supporting part 22 extended from the first lower supporting part 21 and for supporting a speaker main body 101 of the speaker 103.

The first lower supporting part 21 is formed with a lower fitting cut 26a for fitting the stand part 102 of speaker 103, and lower supporting slots 28 for inserting upper supporting projections 27b. The second lower supporting part 22 is formed with a pair of lower supporting holes 29a for inserting main body 101 of speaker 103. End part of second lower supporting part 22 is formed with a pair of lower supporting projections 27a.

Between the first lower supporting part 21 and the first lateral wall part 11 there is formed a first lower bending line 40 to facilitate beding of first lower supporting part 21 to face first lateral wall part 11. Between first lower supporting part 21 and second lower supporting part 22 there is formed a second lower bending line 41 to facilitate bending of the second lower supporting part 22 at an almost perpendicular direction to first lower supporting part 21.

The upper supporting part 23 has a first upper supporting part 24 extending from the upper end part of second lateral wall part 12 and for supporting stand part 102 of speaker 103, and a second upper supporting part 25 extending from the first upper supporting part 24, for supporting main body 101 of speaker 103.

The first upper supporting part 24 is configured to form an upper fitting cut 26b for receiving stand part 102 of speaker 103. The second upper supporting part 25 is configured to form a pair of upper supporting holes 29b for receiving the main body 101 of speaker 103. Herein, an end part of the second upper supporting part 25 is formed with a pair of upper supporting projections 27b inserted into the lower supporting slots 28 of the first lower supporting part 21.

Between first upper supporting part 24 and second lateral wall part 12 there is formed a first upper bending line 42 to facilitate bending of first upper supporting part 24 to face second lateral wall part 12. Between first upper supporting part 24 and second upper supporting part 25 there is formed a second upper bending line 43 to facilitate bending of second upper supporting part 25 at the almost perpendicular direction to first upper supporting part 24.

The lower cover part 30 is bent at an almost perpendicular direction with respect to third lateral wall part 13 by using a third bending line 44. Lower cover part 30 is configured to cover the upper opening formed by first through fourth lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14. An upper-end area of the lower cover part 30 is formed with a fitting projection 32.

The upper cover part 31 is bent at an almost perpendicular direction with respect to fourth lateral wall part 14 by using a fourth bending line 45, and is mounted almost parallel with respect to the upper side of lower cover part 30. The upper cover part 31 is formed with a handle fitting hole 33 which fits a handle member (not shown) passing through a plane of the upper cover part 31. Both end areas of upper cover part 31 are formed with a pair of lateral fitting projections 34.

Meanwhile, side areas of each lateral wall part are formed with a pair of first through fourth lateral wall part aids 11a, 12a, 13a, 14a extending from both end parts thereof. The first through fourth lateral wall part aids 11a, 12a, 13a, 14a are folded inward by first through fourth aid-bending lines 46, 47, 48, 49.

Second lateral wall part aid 12a is formed with first supporting slots 50 for receiving lower supporting projections 27a of lower supporting part 20. Third lateral wall part aid 13a and fourth lateral wall part aid 14a, adjacent to second lateral wall part aid 12a, are formed with second supporting slots 51 matching with first supporting slots 50. Therefore, second supporting slots 51 and first supporting slots 50 are configure to receive lower supporting projections 27a.

The bending areas of first lateral wall part 11 and the pair of first lateral wall part aids 11a are formed with first coupling projections 52 for coupling. The bending area of first lateral wall part 11 and first lower supporting part 21 is formed with a first projection groove 53 for receiving lateral fitting projection 34 of the upper cover part 31.

The bending areas of second lateral wall part 12 and the pair of the second lateral wall part aids 12a are formed with second coupling projections 54 for coupling. The bending area of second lateral wall part 12 and first upper supporting part 24 is formed with a second projection groove 55 for receiving lateral fitting projection 34 of the upper cover part 31.

The bending areas of third lateral wall part 13 and the pair of third lateral wall part aids 13a are formed with third projection grooves 56 for receiving first coupling projections 52 and second coupling projections 54. The bending area of third lateral wall part 13 and lower cover part 30 is formed with an incised groove 35.

The bending areas of fourth lateral wall part 14 and the pair of fourth lateral wall part aids 14a are formed with fourth projection grooves 57 receiving both first coupling projections 52 and second coupling projections 54. The bending area of fourth lateral wall part 14 and upper cover part 31 is formed with a fifth projection groove 58 for receiving fitting projection 32 of lower cover part 30 fourth lateral wall parts 12, 13, 14 fold to stand up with respect to bottom part 1 along the bending areas. The first lateral wall part 11 then folds to stand-up with respect to bottom part 1. When the first lower supporting part 21 folds inward by using the first lower bending line 40, thereby facing first lateral wall part 11. The second lower supporting part 22 folds by using the second lower bending line 41 to orient in a substantially perpendicular direction with respect to first lower supporting part 21. As shown in the FIG. 4, lower supporting projection 27a of second lower supporting part 22 is inserted to couple between second supporting slot 51 and first supporting slot 50.

Next, the upper supporting part 23 folds inward by using first upper bending line 42, and the second upper supporting part 25 folds by using the second upper bending line 43 to orient in a substantially perpendicular direction with respect to first upper supporting part 24. As shown in FIG. 5, the upper supporting projections 27b of second upper supporting part 25 couple to lower supporting slots 28 of first lower supporting part 21. Therefore, if stand part 102 of speaker 103 inserts into the upper fitting cut 26b, and speaker main body 101 inserts between lower supporting hole 29a and the upper supporting hole 29b, speaker 103 can be securely supported in the packing box.

As shown in FIG. 6, lower cover part 30 and upper cover part 31 fold in the direction indicated to cover the upper opening formed by first through fourth lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14. The fitting projection 32 of lower cover part 30 couples with the fifth projection groove 58, and upper cover part 31 folds in the direction indicated by the arrow to stack on the upper side of lower cover 30. When the pair of lateral fitting projections 34 insert into the first projection groove 53 and second projection groove 55, the packing box is closed.

Meanwhile, according to exemplary implementation, the upper supporting part 23 and the lower supporting part 20 are configured to support speaker 103. As described in FIGS. 7 and 8, a lower supporting part 20a can be configured to support components (not shown) of a woofer (not shown) and upper supporting part 23a can support the tweeter (not shown). The upper supporting part 23a forms upper supporting holes 80, which are adapted to receive supporting bridges (not shown) provided in a lower side of the woofer (not shown).

First through fourth lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14 fold to stand up with respect to bottom part 1. When first through fourth lateral wall part aids 11a, 12a, 13a, 14a fold inward by using first through fourth bending lines 46, 47, 48, 49. Lower supporting part 20a then folds to mount in the transverse direction with respect to first through fourth lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14. The upper supporting part 23a folds to mount in the transverse direction with respect to the plane of first through fourth lateral wall parts 11, 12, 13, 14, and mounts in an upper side of lower supporting part 20a (refer to FIG. 8). Finally, if lower cover part 30 and an upper cover part 31 are folded in order, the packing box is closed.

As described above, when speaker 103 or woofer (not shown) are accommodated inside, the packing box in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention can support easily speaker 103 or the woofer by upper and lower supporting parts 23, 23a, 20, 20a, without the need to use shock absorber material. Thus, goods can be protected against damage due to an external impact during transfer and are capable of being packed simply, which decreases costs.

While the invention has been shown and described with reference to certain exemplary embodiments thereof, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

Claims

1. A packing box, comprising:

a bottom part;
a lateral wall part extending from the bottom part and disposed along the circumference thereof; and
a supporting part extending upward from the lateral wall part configured to bend, the support part comprisingan opening for receiving goods.

2. The packing box according to claim 1, wherein the supporting part comprises a pair of opposing supporting parts, each of the pair of the supporting parts comprising a first supporting part coupled to the lateral wall part, and a second supporting part extending upward from the first supporting part and adapted to bend in a transverse direction, the second supporting part comprising th opening.

3. The packing box according to claim 2, wherein at least one of the pair of supporting parts comprises a first supporting projection and at least the other of the pair of the supporting parts comprises a first supporting slot adapted to receive the first supporting projection.

4. The packing box according to claim 3, wherein the lateral wall part comprises a supporting slot, the other of the pair of the supporting parts comprises a second supporting projection, and the second supporting slot is adapted to receive the second supporting projection.

5. The packing box according to claim 4, further comprising a cover part extending upward from the lateral wall part and configured to bend.

6. The packing box according to claim 5, wherein the cover part comprises:

a lower cover part, the lower cover part comprising an upper side and adapted to cover an upper opening formed by the lateral wall part; and
an upper cover part coupled to the upper side of the lower cover part.

7. The packing box according to claim 6, wherein the lower cover part comprises a lower fitting projection, the upper cover part comprises a first projection groove and an upper fitting projection, the first projection groove being adapted to receive the lower fitting projection, and wherein the supporting part comprises a second projection groove adapted to receive the upper fitting projection.

8. The packing box according to claim 1, further comprising a cover part extending upward from the lateral wall part and configured to bend.

9. The packing box according to claim 8, wherein the cover part comprises;

a lower cover part, the lower cover part comprising an upper side and adapted to cover an upper opening formed by the lateral wall part; and
an upper cover part coupled to the upper side of the lower cover part.

10. The packing box according to claim 9, wherein the lower cover part comprises a lower fitting projection, the upper cover part comprises a first projection groove and an upper fitting projection, the first projection groove being adapted to receive the lower fitting projection, and wherein

the supporting part comprises a second projection groove adapted to receive the upper fitting projection.
