ADJUSTABLE AND REMOVABLE TRIGGER
An Adjustable and Removable Trigger for firearms that allows trigger pull adjustments and is removable as a deterrent to unauthorized use.
1. Field of Invention
This invention relates to firearms and more particularly to an Adjustable and Removable Trigger assembly for improved firearm safety and storage.
2. Description of Related Art
In the past firearm manufacturers used various adjustable trigger designs and external locks for gun safety. Firearms have used various adjustable trigger designs for sometime, but the mechanisms have always relied on an additional external trigger lock to achieve both adjustable and secure functionality.
Browning, Beretta, and other firearms manufacturers have used various adjustable trigger designs utilizing set screws to lock the trigger shoe in position.
These trigger locks are generally bulky, two-piece clam shell designs that come into the trigger area from both sides of the trigger guard and engage the lock thereby blocking the trigger from access and use. In displaying the gun the trigger lock is very utilitarian and detracts from the aesthetics of the gun, but does serve its role of preventing unauthorized use of the firearm.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The main parts of the Adjustable and Removable Trigger are illustrated in
The functionality of this invention is more fully illustrated in
The Removable assembly 2 inserts into the Trigger housing pocket for the Removable assembly 1A and snaps into position by momentarily raising the Ball lock ball 3C and once the Removable assembly is seated in the pocket the form of the Removable trigger base 2A allows the Ball lock ball 3C under pressure from the Ball lock spring 3B to reposition so that the Ball lock ball 3C locks the Removable trigger base 2A into position along with the whole Removable assembly 2.
Detachment of the Removable assembly 2 is accomplished by inserting the same L-shaped Allen wrench used to tighten the Adjustment set screws 2D into the Ball lock access hole 2B and passing through the Trigger housing hole for access to release the ball lock 1B and pushing up the Ball lock ball 3C while rotating the Removable assembly 2 down and out.
The ball lock parts are located in the Trigger housing 1. The Ball lock ball 3C is located in the Trigger housing hole for the ball lock spring & ball 1C. It is held there under light tension by the Ball lock spring 3B which is held in the hole by the Ball lock set screw 3A which threads into the Trigger housing threaded hole for said screw 1D.
Adjustment, removal and placement of the Removable assembly is effortless, an effective deterrent to unauthorized use of the firearm and does not detract from the gun's aesthetics.
Claims
