Stainless steel cabinet liner

A stainless steel cabinet liner fabricated to provide protection for the bottom of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. The cabinet liner has three turned up edges with the front edge turned down for a secure fit in the bottom of the cabinetry. The cabinet liner comes in standardized sizes, allowing for pricing that fits the budget of the average homeowner.

BACKGROUND

1. Description of Invention

This invention relates to the field of construction and home maintenance, specifically to the area of protection for the bottom of a kitchen or bathroom cabinet.

2. Description of Prior Art

All homes contain kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Over years of use, leaks and storage of household cleaners the bottom of these cabinets becomes damaged.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The present invention is a rectangular piece of stainless steel with turned up edges fashioned in various lengths that are the standard sizes of kitchen and bathroom cabinets. The liner slips into the cabinet lining the bottom to protect it from wear and tear, leaking from sinks and spills from items typically stored in kitchen or bathroom cabinets.

OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES

Several objects and advantages of the stainless steel cabinet liner described in the present invention are:

(a) To provide a durable surface for an area that is subject to moisture and spills.

(b) To provide a surface that is easy to keep clean.

(c) To provide removable liner for a typically dirty area.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION—FIGS. 1A, 1B

The preferred embodiment of the present invention is illustrated in the above drawing figs, most completely in FIG. 1A. Keeping in mind the described components can be of varying size, dimension, and shape. So as not to limit the possible scope of this invention but only to create a more clear understanding to the reader, I will describe the materials needed to construct a stainless steel cabinet liner for a 27″ cabinet.

FIG. 1A-1B: Fabrication

A stainless steel cabinet liner as pictured in FIG. 1A-1B is constructed of one sheet 26 to 20 gage stainless steel with a brushed finish 10, sheared to 28″×24.75″. Lay out bends 20 per drawing. Notch corners ⅝″. Bend up left 30, right 40 and rear 50 edges 90 degrees, bend front edge down 90 degrees 60. Deburr all sides.

Installation

The completed stainless steel cabinet liner (FIG. 1A) is slid into the bottom of the cabinet.

CONCLUSION, RAMIFICATIONS, & SCOPE

Accordingly, the reader will see that this invention is easily manufactured and installed providing access to a more durable material with an easily cleanable surface.

Claims

1. Stainless Steel Cabinet Liner comprising:

a flat piece of 26 to 20 gage brushed finish stainless steel fashioned in the shape of a rectangle;
three edges of rectangle bent up 90 degrees with the front edge bent down 90 degrees.

2. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 12″ long.

3. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 15″ long.

4. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 18″ long.

5. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 21″ long.

6. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 24″ long.

7. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 27″ long.

8. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 30″ long.

9. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 33″ long.

10. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 36″ long.

11. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 39″ long.

12. The stainless steel cabinet liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the rectangle is 42″ long.
