Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to card games.

Card games are known in the art and produced and played in many varieties. It is believed that the card games can be further improved by making them more exciting and attractive to players.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a card game which includes such cards that allow playing the cards in a special way not known before.

In keeping with these objects and with others which will become apparent hereinafter, one feature of the present invention resides, briefly stated, in a card game, comprising a first plurality of playing animal cards each having an image of an animal, a numerical value, and a description of a skill of the animal; and a second plurality of special cards which are not playing cards but instead can add special skills to said playing cards and include a description of special properties so that one of said playing cards of one player can win over another of said playing cards of another player when said one card has a greater numerical value than the other card, while each of said special cards in combination with a respective one of said playing cards provides an additional advantage in the card game.

In accordance with further embodiments of the present inventions, the special card can include reborner cards which can revive a playing card of at least one of the players when the playing card has been already beaten: leader cards which increase value of at least some or all of said playing cards, power up cards which add some numerical values to said playing cards or make a respective one of said playing cards invisible: of a competitor or in a deck; spy thief cards allowing to break rules of the card game; infector cards making playing cards of a competitor inactive reducing a value of competitor's playing cards; taker cards allowing to take playing cards of a competitor or to exchange said playing cards; air field cards which allow to beat all playing cards or cards with images of flying animals, etc.

The novel features which are considered as characteristic for the present invention are set forth in particular in the appended claims. The invention itself, however, both as to its construction and its method of operation, together with additional objects and advantages thereof, will be best understood from the following description of specific embodiments when read in connection with the accompanying drawings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

In accordance with the present invention, a card game includes a first plurality of playing cards. For example, the card game can include 35 playing cards. Two of said playing cards are shown in FIG. 1, in particular a “Fire Bull 1” and a “Summa Fox”. Each playing card has an image of an animal which is identified with reference numeral 2, 2′, a numerical value which is identified with reference numeral 3, 3′, and a description of properties or skills of the animal as identified with reference numeral 4, 4′.

The card game further includes special cards which will be described in detail later on. For example, one card game can include 15 special cards. A card game is played with animal cards 1, 1′, etc in the following manner. The place where players put there cards down is called “Battlefield” or just a “Field”. Each player has its own “Pet Cemetery” where his defeated animals lay. Dealer thoroughly shuffles the cards. Several playing cards, for example five cards, are distributed to each player face down, and the rest of the deck is put to a side far enough for each player to reach, also face down.

One or two playing animal cards, 1, 1′, etc. are put down on the field from a player's hand. In accordance with the rules two cards can be played only with a special card. One special card is put down on the field face down in an ambush position or face up to activate it. One special card per one turn can be activated. If a playing card of a player has a greater numerical value than a playing card of his competitor, he wins. The competitor's animal on the competitor's playing card is pronounced dead, and placed in his “Pet Cemetery”. The playing card of the player remains on the field. Not only the numerical value but also the corresponding ability expressed in the description of the playing cards can be used.

The special cards are cards which add properties or skills to the animal playing cards. They have an image and a description of properties or skills of each special card. FIG. 2 shows one of the special cards which is a reborner cards that allows to revive other cards of a player or his competitor from the player's cemetery or the competitor's cemetery.

Another special card is a leader card, such as for example a “Judge Eagle” card 6 shown in FIG. 3. The leader card can increase value of all cards of the field. For example, it can make all the animals on the playing cards on the battlefield to have the same strength as the current animal on the field with the highest strength. The leader card can be however formed so that it increases value only of selected types of playing cards, for example cards with the images of reptiles.

A further special card shown in FIG. 4 is a power up card 7 which can add a few numerical values to any animal playing card, so that the corresponding animal playing card increases its numerical value. At the same time a power up card can be such that it makes the playing card invisible to an attack, for example for one turn.

FIG. 5 shows another special card which is a spy card 8, formed for example as a “Rabbit Spy”. This card allows to see a competitor's card or deck cards.

FIG. 6 shows a further special card which is an anti spy card 9. This card is formed as an anti spy card. The anti spy card allows to neutralize the spy cards and also tiff cards which will be described herein below.

FIG. 7 shows a tiff special card which is a thief card 10 formed for example as a rule breaker. It allows to break the rules of the game, for example attack more than once, use more than one animals special ability, etc.

FIG. 8 shows another special card, in particular an infector card formed for example as the “Sleeping Tiger” 11. The infector cards reduce values of competitor's playing card or make the competitor's playing card “sleep” so that they skip some turns.

FIG. 9 shows another special card which is a taker card formed for example as “Shark Magician”. The taker cards can take competitor's cards playing animal or exchange with the animal cards of the competitor.

FIG. 10 is a view showing a special card formed as an air field card. It allows either to beat all cards, or to beat cards only as special type of animals, for example a cards having the images of birds.

It is to be understood that the special cards can include several cards of each of the above described category. Each special card has its name, an image, and a text with description of the special skill.

During the game the special cards provide additional advantages to the playing animal card, in correspondence with the specific nature of each special card.

The card game, in addition to 35 playing animal cards, can include 15 special cards.

It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together, may also find a useful application in other types of constructions differing from the types described above.

While the invention has been illustrated and described as embodied in a card game, it is not intended to be limited to the details shown, since various modifications and structural changes may be made without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.

Without further analysis, the foregoing will so fully reveal the gist of the present invention that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily adapt it for various applications without omitting features that, from the standpoint of prior art, fairly constitute essential characteristics of the generic or specific aspects of this invention.
