The invention relates to a device for carrying electronic devices, and more particularly to shoulder type harness for carrying devices including cell phones, pagers, mpg music players and other electronic devices.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe background of the invention may be shown by several patents as described below.
U.S. Pat. No. 5,410,762, defines a belt strap for jogger's compact portable device. An elastic strap having at least two opposing belt receiving slots through which the free end of a belt is threaded. Preferably, the strap is made of neoprene. The belt receiving slots are reinforced by either grommeting or stitching. The distance between the belt openings is slightly less than the width of the compact portable device which is secured between the outside wall of the belt and the inside wall of the elastic strap. When the belt is tightened around the body of the active wearer, the relative movement of the secured compact portable device and the body is minimized even if the wearer is engaged in vigorous exercise. A second embodiment which features an overlapping elastic strap permits the active wearer to access the control of the compact portable device without interrupting his or her routine. Moreover, the padding of neoprene strap protects the compact portable devices from accidental bumps and knocking against hard objects
U.S. Pat. No. 5,443,193, describes a pager carrier with coin dispenser. A combination carrying case for a portable electronic pager and a coin dispenser includes an upright case body in which the front wall and one side wall have a reduced height, so that the pager is easily inserted into the receptacle defined by the case body. The coin dispenser includes a vertical coin chute integral with one side wall of the case body so that the chute has a relatively large coin capacity. Coins are extracted from the chute through a coin slot at the lower end of the chute. A spring clip is provided on the rear wall of the case for detachably mounting the case on the user's belt.
U.S. Pat. No. 4,060,876 is to a wallet supporting clip. A wallet supporting clip which includes a clip portion to attach to the belt of a wearer between the inside surface of trousers and the body of a wearer and which has attached to it a link with an opening through which a wallet may be passed.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe invention, a shoulder/body holster with at least one device holder there, which may be called, for example, a gadget belt, may be used to carry cell phones and other electronic devices includes straps that crisscross the back and wrap over the shoulders and under the arms. The straps are adjustable, so that one can achieve an appropriate fit. Adjustable devices may be used. These adjustable devices may be made of any stretchable material.
The portions of the straps that are located in the front of the body may be lined with hook and loop fasteners or other attachment devices. This hook and loop material allows the invention to support multiple pockets on the straps.
The cell phone pocket is attached to the straps by means of wrap around hook and loop material, or other fastener devices. The approximate dimensions of the pockets, may be, for example, be two and one-half inches in height, two and one-quarter inches in width and one and one-quarter inches in depth. This will accommodate such devices as cell phones, pagers, mpg music players and other electronic devices.
Keeping a cell phone in the pocket of Gadget Belt would ensure that a person would have easy access to the cell phone and would be able to hear an incoming call more easily. A cell phone and other devices are kept in a nonintrusive and comfortable way. The gadget belt can be worn by either men or women and by people of all ages.
The technical advance represented by the invention as well as the objects thereof will become apparent from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, and the novel features set forth in the appended claims.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
At least one device holder 30 may be mounted on the straps 11 and 15. A device holder 30 is shown on strap 15. Device holder 30 is attached to strap 15 by extending strap 15 through a loop on the back of device holder 30 (
A strap 21 may be attached to both straps 11 and 15 to hold these straps in a fixed position so that they will not extend outward from each other allowing the straps 11 and 15 to slip over the shoulder and down the arms of a person wearing the belt device.
Straps 43 and 44 cross each other and are secured together at 48. Straps 43 may be secured at 48 by flexible material 49 and 51, and strap 44 may be secured at 48 by flexible material 50 and 52. The use of the flexible material allow for stretching while harness is be put over the shoulders of a person, and then returning to the normal size to provide a secure fit to the human body. Strap 53 holds straps 41 and 41 in a fixed position, preventing the portions 43a and 44a from slipping downward over a persons shoulder.
A device holder 60, with closing strap 61 is mounted on either strap 41 or 42 by attaching holder 60 to the hook and loop material 46 or 47. Device holder 60 is shown in
