Variety bottle

Abstract

My “Variety Bottle” takes a regular plastic bottle used for soft drinks, fruit juices, shampoo's, alcoholic beverages etc. and offers two different varieties within one bottle. The dispensing “Mix Dial” offers the user to select one of each or a combination of the two contents within the bottle to offer a variety of choices and options.

Description

My invention “The Variety Bottle” takes the standard 6 ounce to 64 ounce plastic bottle and divides the bottle into two sections using the same material to construct the bottle. This will offer two different selections of liquids, gels or condiments by the user. The plastic bottle will contain a clear or colored divider depending on the effect desired. Materials used will vary from (HDPE, PETE, PVC OR LDPE) plastics. The divider will separate the bottle in half and will be vertically connected to the bottom inside section of the bottle to the upper neck of the bottle. The neck of the bottle will encompass a plastic mix dial with a rounded triangular cut. (FIG. 1A)

The rounded triangular cut will allow the liquid to pass through the neck out of the bottle. The mix dial will be sized to allow the user to select one independent content from each side or adjust to allow various combinations of contents from both sides of the divided bottle. (FIG. 3A)

The cap of the “Variety Bottle” will contain an inner flexible raised section, rounded to fit on the top of the mix dial. This will allow an air tight seal when the cap in applied on the bottle. (FIG. 2A) The material used for the cap is (PETE, HDPE or LDPE) plastic.

The manufacturing process will be the same as standard PETE plastic bottle manufacturing. All parts of the Variety Bottle will be contructed with the same plastic ingredients currently used in today's manufacturing environment.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention pertains to the packaging of liquids, gels currently packaged in plastic bottles in single sectioned bottles. The “Variety Bottle” will be divided into two sections which will allow the user to select one of each side or many more combinations of choice all in one bottle.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

My invention named “The Variety Bottle” give the user a choice to select one or more of two contents that is divided in one bottle. The user will have a choice of two liquids or gels. Listed are some of the advantages my “Variety Bottle” will have over the current single bottle;

• • 1. Two different soft drinks with two different flavors which can be consume separately or mix to make unique flavors.
  • 2. Two different shaving gels and conditioners that can be contained in one bottle for convenience.
  • 3. Two different condiments that can be contained in one bottle for convenience.
    The choice to use two different liquids, gels etc. within one bottle is the point of the “Variety Bottle”. This will allow the user more flexibility to choose a variety of combinations or to simply use each side separately. The variety bottle also offers many of the items mentioned above not to be premixed until desired by the user enabling the user to dispense the contents mixed, separately or in any combination desired.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 1A—This illustration depicts the bottle at a front view. The line that runs vertically from the bottom of the inner bottle to the “Mix Dial” is the plastic separation dividing the bottle in half The bottle is divided completely sealing on side from the other until the “Mix Dial” is reached, at the point the “Mix Dial” can be adjusted to allow any combination of liquid through the neck.

FIG. 2A—This illustration depicts the “Cap” required to keep the liquid contents from mixing with one another when the cap is applied. The top of the cap is the exact same cap commonly used in the plastic bottle industry, however the extention with the circular pattern will seal the mix dial area when screwed on the bottle.

FIG. 3A—This illustration depicts the “Mix Dial” which will be mounted in the neck of the bottle. A small ridge in the neck of the bottle above and below the “Mix Dial” will keep the “Mix Dial” in proper position. The “Mix Dial” will be firmly flush against the top of the plastic divider in order to keep a watertight seal. The user will spin the “Mix Dial” to obtain the desired mix of contents from the “Variety Bottle”.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

My “Variety Bottle” takes the existing plastic bottle commonly used for soft drinks, juices, shampoo's, milk, etc. and divides the bottle in half allowing two different contents within the same bottle to remain separated until the user selects any combination or each content separate for use. The plastic bottle will be constructed of the same plastic material currently used. (PETE, HDPE and LDPE). The “Mixer Dial” will allow the user to select the desired contents of each side separately, or select a mix from each side at the users discretion

The divider will run vertically from the inside center of the bottle to the “Mix Dial” located at the neck of the bottle. (see FIG. 1A) The divider will be constructed of the same materials currently used to manufacture plastic bottles. (HDPE, PETE or LDPE)

The “Mix Dial” selector is a circular plastic ring which is solid except for the triangular notch removed to dispense the contents from the bottle.(see FIG. 3A) The “Mix Dial” will be secured within the neck of the bottle with an upper and lower ridge to keep the dial from falling into or out of the bottle and will be in direct contact with the top of the plastic divider. (see FIG. 1A) The “Mix Dial” will be moveable in circular directions to allow the triangular notch to dispense the desired contents within the “Variety Bottle. The contents can be selected separately or in countless combinations.

The “Bottle Cap” is very similar to the current cap in use for plastic bottles. The cap will be constructed of plastic, (PETE, HDPE, PVC). The inner part of the cap will contain a circular raised section which will widen out to completely cover the “Mix Dial” when screwed into the bottle. (see FIG. 4A). The cap will keep the inner contents from mixing when bottle is not in an upright position.

Claims

I. I claim that the “Variety Bottle” will separate a bottle into two sections allowing for two different contents in one bottle which can be dispensed independently or in any combination desired by the user.

II. I claim that the “Variety Bottle” with the specially designed cap will keep the contents from each side of the bottle separate when the cap is applied.

III. I claim that the “Variety Bottle” can be adapted to contain different cap selections such as flip top caps, aluminum foil sealed caps for the specific use of various applications.
