Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a combination jamb, more particularly, it relates to a length/width adjustable combination jamb.

2. The Prior Arts

A window frame or doorframe is usually composed of four jambs, and after those jambs are combined and fixed, a space for accommodating a window or door panel is enclosed.

Unless the jambs of decent specifications have been prepared in advance, the job for combining a door or window cannot be done easily by a DIY fan. Besides, a DIY construction stuff provider is likely to be bothered in management of the inventory of various specifications.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object according to an aspect of the present invention is to provide a length/width adjustable combination jamb, which is supposedly combined with insertion parts of various lengths and widths for building window frames or doorframes in different measurements.

Another object according to an aspect of the invention is to provide a length/width adjustable combination jamb, which is supposedly combined with reinforced connectivity by means of forming grooves in a first jamb section, a second jamb section, and an insertion part thereof.

Yet another object according to an aspect of the present invention is to provide a length/width adjustable combination jamb, which is supposedly combined with reinforced connectivity by means of forming screw holes in a first jamb section, a second jamb section, and an insertion part.

In order to realize the mentioned objects, a jamb of the present invention comprises a first jamb section, a second jamb section, and an insertion part, in which the first jamb section includes at its two ends a first jamb corner and a first junction surface, respectively; the second jamb section includes at its two ends a second jamb corner and a second junction surface, respectively; and those junction surfaces are corresponding to each other structurally, and the ends of the insertion part are corresponding in structure with the first and the second junction surfaces.

For more detailed information regarding advantages or features of the present invention, at least one example of preferred embodiment will be described below with reference to the annexed drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The related drawings in connection with the detailed description of the present invention to be made later are described briefly as follows, in which:

FIGS. 1A-1C are schematic views of a length/width adjustable jamb of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a schematic view showing a window frame or doorframe of the length/width adjustable combination jamb of the present invention;

FIGS. 3A and 3B are schematic views showing a jamb of the present invention having grooves;

FIG. 4 is a schematic view showing a jamb of the present invention having screw holes; and

FIG. 5 is another schematic view showing a jamb of the present invention having grooves of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

FIGS. 1A-1C are schematic views of a length/width adjustable combination jamb of the present invention. A first jamb section 10, a second jamb section 14, and an insertion part 12 in FIG. 1A can be connected to become a length/width adjustable jamb 16a of the present invention indicated in FIG. 1B, or, without the insertion part 12, the first jamb section 10 and the second jamb section 14 could be combined to become a jamb 18a shown in FIG. 1C. All the first and the second jamb sections 10, 14 and the insertion part 12 could be made of PCV low degree foaming resin, metal, wood, or pseudo wood.

FIG. 2 is a schematic view showing a window frame or doorframe of the length/width adjustable combination jamb of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 2, after the jambs 16a, 16b, 18a, and 18b are combined together, the jamb corners may be adhered together to form an integrant window frame or doorframe. In this manner, just by choosing a proper insertion part to fit with the jamb sections, a DIY material provider can save his breath in preparation of jambs in various lengths.

In the jamb 16a of FIG. 2, the first jamb section 10 is provided at one end with a first frame corner (the corner to be combined with a frame corner of the jamb 18a) and a first junction surface (to be contacted with the insertion part 12) at the other; and the second jamb section 14 is provided at one end with a second frame corner (the corner to be combined with a frame corner of the jamb 18b) and a second junction surface (to be contacted with the insertion part 12) at the other. Moreover, as good appearance and easy assembling is taken into account, the first junction surface of the first jamb section 10 should be configured corresponding with the second junction surface as well as both ends of the insertion part 12. Similarly, the second junction surface of the second jamb section 14 should be configured corresponding with the first junction surface as well as both ends of the insertion part 12. In this manner, the jamb 16a shown in FIG. 1B and the jamb 18a shown in FIG. 1C can be combined with a selected insertion part 12 of desired length and width to thereby form the jambs 16a, 16b, 18a, and 18b beautifully and easily according to practical requirements.

FIGS. 3A and 3B are schematic views showing the jambs of the present invention having grooves. For enhancing the connectivity among the first jamb section 10, the second jamb section 14, and the insertion part 12, an extra auxiliary mechanism is required. As indicated in FIG. 3A, the first junction surface of the first jamb section 10 is formed with a mortise 10a, the second junction surface of the second jamb section 14 is formed with a mortise 14a, and the insertion part 12 is formed with a tenon 12a, 12b on each of two ends corresponding to the respective mortises 10a, 14a. Furthermore, as indicated in FIG. 3B, after the tenon 12a, 12b is duly inserted in the mortise 10a, 14a, the connectivity of the jamb 16a shown in FIG. 3B is stronger than that shown in FIG. 1C. Also, it is possible to change the mortises 10a and 14a of respective jamb sections 10 and 14 into a pair of tenon and mortise for connection.

FIG. 4 is a schematic view showing the jambs of the present invention having screw holes. As shown in FIG. 4, a plurality of screw holes 40a, 40b is formed at proper positions of the tenon 12a, 12b and the mortise 10a, 14a, namely, at positions adjacent to each end of the first jamb section 10, the second jamb section 14, and the insertion part 12 for locking screws such that the combination structure as shown in FIG. 3B can be reinforced

FIG. 5 is another schematic view showing the jambs of the present invention having grooves. An insertion part 54 may be combined with a first jamb section 50 and a second jamb section 52 as shown in FIG. 5. Similarly, all those part and sections are corresponding in junction structure to thereby obtain a secure combination.

In the above described, at least one preferred embodiment has been described in detail with reference to the drawings annexed, and it is apparent that numerous changes or modifications may be made without departing from the true spirit and scope thereof, as set forth in the claims below.
