Abstract

Disclosed is a combination cabinet, which includes a collapsible carriage, collapsible storage boxes horizontally and vertically aligned on the collapsible carriage, and a shaped decoration item, for example, a tractor (or pyramidal tower) attached to one side of the carriage to form with the carriage a truck (or to form with the carriage and the collapsible storage boxes a castle).

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Technical Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to cabinets and more particularly, to a combination cabinet.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

Many commercial storage boxes are made collapsible so that they can be folded into a flat condition to save storage space when not in use. These storage boxes are simply provided for keeping things, not for decoration. In order to attract consumers to buy, these commercial storage boxes are designed and painted similar to the outside wall or printed with a drawing. This planar design cannot catch people's eyes for long.

Further, people usually provide an independent living space for their children and decorate the independent living space with articles and furniture having the outer appearances of cartoon characters, making the independent living space lifelike and vivid. However, conventional cabinets or storage boxes do not provide this decorative function.

Further, when showing a commercial item, such as a storage box or the like in a sales center, the commercial item may be directly placed on a display rack for display. This display method cannot attract consumers' eyes.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a combination cabinet, which provides a visual effect to attract people's eyes.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a combination cabinet, which can be used as a cabinet for keeping things as well as a display item for decoration. According to one aspect of the present invention, the combination cabinet is comprised of a carriage; a plurality of storage boxes carried on the carriage and horizontally and vertically aligned and at least one shaped decoration item attached to the carriage. The shaped decoration item can be made to form with the carriage a truck that carries the storage boxes. Alternatively, the shaped decoration item can be made to form with the carriage and the storage boxes a castle. Further, the carriage and the storage boxes are made collapsible. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the carriage comprises four upright sidewalls arranged around four sides, a flexible horizontal bottom panel, a plurality of vertical folding lines respectively formed in between each two adjacent upright sidewalls and the middle of two opposite sidewalls of the four upright sidewalls for enabling the carriage to be folded into a flat condition, two horizontal insertion holes respectively formed in two upright sidewalls of the four upright sidewalls, and a detachable hard bottom board inserted in the horizontal insertion holes and supported on the flexible bottom panel.

To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

Referring to FIG. 1, a combination cabinet in accordance with the present invention is shown comprised of a carriage 1 and a plurality of storage boxes 3. The carriage 1 is preferably made collapsible so that it can be folded up and received in a flat manner for storage or delivery when not in use.

According to this embodiment, the carriage 1 is made of a tough and strong sheet material in the shape of a rectangular box having the four sidewalls respectively stuffed with a hardboard. Vertical folding lines 12 are formed in the four comers between each two adjacent sidewalls and the middle of each of two opposite sidewalls at the two opposite short sides of the carriage 1. The bottom panel 14 of the carriage 1 is formed of a flexible sheet member. Two horizontal insertion slots 11 are respectively formed in the two opposite sidewalls at the two opposite short sides of the carriage 1. After the carriage 1 has been extended out, a hard bottom board 2 is inserted into the horizontal insertion slots 11 and supported on the bottom panel 14 of the carriage 1 to support the carriage 1 in shape (the hard bottom board 2 may be formed of two hard plate members). After removal of the hard bottom board 2 from the carriage 1, the carriage 1 can be folded into a flat manner through the folding lines 12, as shown in FIG. 4).

Further, the carriage 1 is equipped with wheels 13, which support the carriage 1 on a flat surface to carry the storage boxes 3 that are arranged in rows at different elevations.

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3A and 3B, a shaped decoration item, for example, a tractor-like decoration item 4 is attached to one short side of the carriage 1 to form with the carriage 1 a truck that carries the storage boxes 3 on the carriage 1.

FIG. 5 shows an alternate form of the present invention. According to this embodiment, the combination cabinet comprises a carriage 1, two pyramidal tower-like wardrobes 2 arranged at two sides of the carriage 1, and a plurality of storage boxes 3 arranged in multiple stacks on the carriage between the pyramidal tower-like wardrobes 2. The carriage 1 is substantially similar to the aforesaid first embodiment of the present invention with the exception that this alternate form eliminates the aforesaid wheels 13. According to this embodiment, the combination cabinet is shaped like a castle.

Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.

It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.

Claims

1. A combination cabinet comprising:

a carriage, said carriage comprising four upright sidewalls arranged around four sides, a flexible horizontal bottom panel, a plurality of vertical folding lines respectively formed in between each two adjacent upright sidewalls and the middle of two opposite sidewalls of said four upright sidewalls for enabling said carriage to be folded into a flat condition, two horizontal insertion holes respectively formed in two upright sidewalls of said four upright sidewalls, and a detachable hard bottom board inserted in said horizontal insertion holes and supported on said flexible bottom panel; and

a plurality of storage boxes horizontally vertically arranged together on said carriage for storing things.

2. The combination cabinet as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a shaped decoration item attached to one side of said carriage.

3. The combination cabinet as claimed in claim 2, wherein said shaped decoration item has the shape of a tractor.

4. The combination cabinet as claimed in claim 1, further comprising at least one wardrobe each provided at one side of said carriage.

5. The combination cabinet as claimed in claim 4, wherein said at least one wardrobe each has the shape of a pyramidal tower.
