A Shower Shield System to be engaged with the Shower drain in order to protect the drain area way as well as protect the loss and/or damage of inanimate objects and/or material. The inventive device includes plastic canvas mesh materials, and a solid plastic ring adhesively bonded together. A Shower Shield System to be engaged with the Shower drain in a shower drain areaway to protect and prevent the loss of inanimate objects down the drain areaway. The inventive device includes plastic canvas mesh materials, plastic strips, and a solid plastic ring securely fastened together with bonding adhesive. This inventive device includes, but is not limited to canvas mesh plastic, plastic strips, and a solid plastic ring materials and bonding adhesive.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONI

1. Field of Invention

This invention relates to the Shower Shield, specifically to such shields, which are used for safeguard against debris going down the shower drain, in the shower drain of a bathroom.

The present invention relates generally to the field of apparatus for a shower (where a typical Shower drain is in use; for example a bathroom shower), and more specifically, it

Pertains to a Shower Shield System is designed to be engaged with a Shower drain of a typical Shower, that while engaged will not move when water is running and/or when said drain is engaged to release water.

2. Prior Art

It can be appreciated that Shower drains have been in use for years. Typically, most Showers (bathroom) are comprised of a stall, fixtures (that operate the flow and pressure of hot and cold water as well as a standard Shower drain.

The Shower drain is placed inside the shower drain openings. The Shower drain has one main function: to allow the flow of water down the shower drain. When the function of the Shower drain is simply to permit the flow of water down the drain.

Since the main purpose of the Shower drain is to permit or prevent the passage of water to the drain it does not address a major concern in most shower (bathroom) Shower systems. The main concern of the conventional Shower drain is the to prevent debris, hair and lent clogs from occurring which prevents water from flowing.

Shower Shield in the prior art typically comprise a strainer or grid, which is received into the drain opening or is secured over the drain opening that extends into the drain opening and or obstruct the walking surface of the Shower.

Those strainers frequently require cleaning. Some strainers circumvent the necessity for cleaning by providing for a disposable assembly. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 3,982,289, issued Sep. 28, 1976 to Robbins, discloses a disposable “shower strainer” that is made of disposable plastic U.S. Pat. No. 3,742,524, issued Jul. 3, 1973 to Ballentine, discloses a drain strainer comprising an aluminum mesh which is folded about a peripheral ring and placed into or over the drain. U.S. Pat. No. 4,471,497, issued Sep. 18, 1984 to Riutort et al. discloses a lavatory filter comprising an annular ring with springs which engage the inner surface of the drain opening.

Additionally another U.S. Pat. No. 4,443,897 issued Apr. 24, 1984 to Austin; Anderson discloses an Anti-clog shower device for straining liquids being disposed of in a shower and for separating and preventing the solids contained in the liquid and having a size above a certain diameter to pass through it. Another is U.S. Pat. No. 4,045,351 issued Aug. 30, 1977 to Peterson discloses Shower strainer for kitchen or bathroom relates more to the plumbing equipment more particularly the invention relates to drain pipe cleaners and the like. Only some of the above strainers employ wire mesh, but of those references which do, there is in general provided that the wire mesh is bonded to some retaining or reinforcing ring. Disadvantage is the device is recessed below the lower inner surface of the shower and does allow liquid to flow through it does not allow water to be retained and use the drain in the shower

All of the above described strainers disclose disposable strainer elements that must be pre-formed before they can be installed. This added manufacturing step contributes to a

Greater overall cost for the disposable element, thus making the strainers less economically attractive when compared to conventional non-Disposable strainers.

Furthermore, in the Ballentine and Riutort devices, the ring member who holds the disposable element does not allow the water having a level less than the height of the ring member to pass there-through, and therefore the water cannot drain completely around the ring member.

As such, when using those prior strainer devices, one is often left with an amount of debris carrying water in the bottom of the shower or vessel. To remove that water, it becomes necessary to remove the strainer, thus creating the opportunity for excessive amounts of strained debris remaining in the water to pass into the drain and become lodged therein.

Thus, the need exist for a disposable Shower Shield which is economical to produce, in which the device is easy to change, and which allows the water to fully drain and its unique

Design allows it to be placed on top of the drain and inserted into the drain, which allows it to remain in place when the drain is engaged water in the shower flowing down the drain. While it performs this function accurately, it safeguards inanimate objects from entering the drain. Once disengaged, to allow water to flow to the drain, the Shower drain prevents small inanimate objects and/or material from entering the drainage passage.

In some circumstances, extensive and costly measures must be implemented to attempt to retrieve valuable items from the drain. Quite frequently, many of these objects simply flow down the drain, through the plumbing system, and are never recovered and/or costly plumbing to remove hair and lent from the drain way.

While other devices may be suitable for the particular purpose to which they address, they are not suitable for proper placement around and/or into the conventional Shower drain. These devices do not address or allow full functionality of the Shower drain as well as provide a discrete shield against small

Inanimate objects and/or material from going down the drain.

In these respects, the Shower Shield System according to the present invention substantially departs from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art. The Shower Shield System is an apparatus primarily developed for the purpose of engaging with the Shower drain to modestly as well as securely and actively shield a shower drain.

OBJECTS AND ADVATAGES

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent to the known types of shower strainers now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a new Shower Shield System construction wherein the same can be utilized for showers with Shower drains engaged in the drain way.

The general purpose of the present invention (which will be described subsequently in greater detail) is to provide a new Shower Shield System that has many of the advantages of the Shower shield mentioned hereto fore and many novel features that result in a new Shower Shield System which is not anticipated, rendered obvious, suggested or even implied by any of the prior art shower drain, either alone or in any combination thereof.

To attain this, the invention generally comprises a 3″ by 8 cm plastic canvas mesh circle cut and attached to additional canvas mesh, with a 2″ by 50 mm plastic circular ring

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the invention that will be described hereinafter.

In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following

Description of illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of the description and should not be regarded as limiting.

A primary objective of the present invention is to provide a Shower Shield System that will overcome the shortcomings of the prior art devices.

An objective of the present invention is to provide a Shower Shield System for a location to be engaged with the Shower drain.

An objective of the present invention is to provide a Shower Shield System for a location to be engaged with the Shower drain with water retained in the shower.

Another objective is to provide a Shower Shield System that protects inanimate objects and or material from the shower drain areaway.

Another objective is to provide a Shower Shield System that does not require costly installation or removal of an apparatus in the shower.

Another objective is to provide a Shower Shield System that does not interfere with the normal operation of the Shower drain and/or shower drain areaway.

Another objective is to provide a Shower Shield System that is attachable, fits in place around the universal, style and type of Shower drain area way.

Another objective is to provide a Shower Shield System that may be removed from the shower at anytime.

Another objective is to provide a Shower Shield System that is not accidentally repositioned or dislodged from the Shower drain during normal operation of the shower.

Another objective is to provide the Shower Shield System that is lightweight and does not affect the overall balance and use of the shower.

Another objective is to provide a Shower Shield System that may be utilized while water freely passes from the faucet to the shower bowl and down the shower drain area way.

Another objective is to provide a Shower Shield System whose appearance is seamless in the shower and non-evasive.

Other objectives and advantages of the present invention will become obvious to the reader and it is intended that these objectives and advantages be within the scope of the present invention.

To the accomplishment of the above and related objectives, this invention may be embodied in the form illustrated in the accompanying drawings, attention being called to the fact, however, that the drawings are illustrative only, and that changes may be made in the specific construction illustrated.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION—FIGS

Various other objects, features and attendant advantages of the present invention will become fully appreciated as the same becomes better understood when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which like reference characters designate the same or similar parts throughout the several views, and wherein:

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The Shower Shield device of the present invention in general comprises the following components: a support flat base plastic mesh circular ring, a circular plastic mesh upright cylinder shaped on the underside of the flat base plastic mesh a circular plastic material is connected to plastic pins dimension to securely fit within the drain.

Referring now to FIG. 1 there is a shown a perspective view of the Shower Shield device of the present invention. A flat plastic mesh is provided for retaining the debris and for passing the liquids from a composite flow. The plastic flat mesh is connected to a cylinder circumference of the drain areaway of the drain, which also prevents debris from entering the drain areaway, but allows liquids from a composite flow. There are four plastic pins within the cylinder plastic mesh, the circumference of the cylinder plastic mesh for added support. A plastic pin/screw material is attached through the flat plastic mesh the circumference ring to provide the ability to retain the ring in place while composite flows down the drain area-way.

Referring now to FIG. 2, there is shown a top view of the Shower Shield device of FIG. 1. The support flat plastic mesh is provided with four holes through which a cylinder plastic pins/screws are attached. At the top of the cylinder plastic mesh is a circular plastic pin/screw for support. The underside of the flat plastic mesh is a plastic screw/hook material to support and prevents displacement.

Referring now to FIG. 3, there is shown a side view of the Shower Shield device of FIG. 2. The support flat plastic mesh is provided with four holes through which a cylinder plastic pin/screws are attached. At the top of the cylinder plastic mesh is a circular plastic pin/screw that goes through the plastic mesh cylinder and has a hook/screw shape to provide support while in place in the shower stall to prevent moving.

Referring now to FIG. 4, there is a rear view of the Shower Shield device of FIG. 3. The bottom of the flat plastic mesh is a plastic circular material with the four pin/screws that are projecting through the underside to provide support from displacement while in the shower around the drain.

SUMMARY

Turning now descriptively to the drawings, in which similar reference characters denote similar elements throughout the several views, the attached figures illustrate a Shower Shield System. It is comprised of plastic canvas mesh attached together to comprise a structure that surrounds the Shower drain areaway.

The attachment is comprised of a flat circular compact disc shaped canvas mesh plastic. It is cut so the center opening fits the perimeter of a standard Shower drain area.

The attachment is comprised of a circular solid plastic flaps. This is securely fastened to the underside of the compact disc shaped canvas mesh plastic, which prevents the Shower Shield from moving when water is engaged in the shower or the drain is engaged to retain water in the shower, therefore preventing it from floating away.

The attachment is comprised of a straight plastic mesh, which is fastened together to form a mesh ring that also matches the perimeter of a standard pop-up drain.

The attachment is comprised of the plastic mesh compact disc shaped attachment (with flaps on its underside) placed on top of and secured to the bottom of the mesh ring). The attachment is comprised of a solid plastic disc shaped ring that is securely bonded to the top of the plastic mesh ring.

The attachments comprised herein mentioned above all utilize an adhesive to secure the components structure directly together, thus or thereby creating the embodiment of the present invention.

The user first determines the desired location of the present invention for which Shower drains areaway. The user then places the Shower shield into the shower around the drain, securing it in place with the plastic strip (which descends down the drain). It is important to ensure that the structure is snugly

Secure and engages around the Shower drain. As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent form the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variation in size materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specifications are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Accordingly, the present invention provides solutions to the aforementioned problems encountered when draining/straining debris laden water or liquid into open drains. This invention provides a shield having a plastic mesh filtering means that may be placed around the drain to an open drain for straining the debris from debris falling into the shower. These and other details, objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent as the detailed description of the present invention proceeds.

Claims

1. In a Shower Shield of the type comprising a flat body of material and having prongs attached on the underside of such material thereof and a gripping aperture adjacent to and communicating with said prongs, the improvement wherein said Shower Shield has a flat surface for placement.

2. The Shower Shield of claim 1 wherein said body of material is composed of polyethylene-terephthalate.

3. The closure of claim 1 wherein said body is a circular in circumference which is on said entire of said body and circular prongs of said under body.

4. The Shower Shield of claim 1 wherein said body is circular and has prongs on the underside circumference which is on the underside of said body opposite to said side, which consist of four solid prong attachments.

5. The Shower Shield of claim 1 wherein said body is circular and has four prongs which is on the underside of said body and extend around the inner circumference of said underside.

6. The closure of claim 5 wherein the prongs on said underside of said body is formed into a circular circumference of said body.

7. The Shower Shield of claim 1 wherein said body has a prong attachment one of said underside.

8. The shower Shield of claim 1 wherein said body of material is opaque in color.

9. The closure of claim 1 wherein said body is circular circumference body.

10. A Shower Shield of the type comprising a flat body of material having prongs on one underside, attached to said body of material.

11. The closure of claim 10 wherein said body is circular and has a mesh appearance circumference on said body and four prongs attached to said underside, from said underside aperture to the opposite bottom.

12. The Shower Shield claims 10 wherein said body is circular and has four circular prongs are on said underside of said body.

13. The Shower Shield claim 10 wherein said body is comprised of a mesh appearance circular circumference.

14. The Shower Shield claim 13 wherein four prongs are on underside of said body and are positioned within the center of said underside.

15. The Shower Shield of claim 10 wherein said body is circular and has a circular circumference of said body.

16. A method of using a Shower Shield comprising:

(a) Providing a Shower Shield of the type comprising a flat body of material having prongs on one underside thereof.
(b) Providing a Shower Shield and inserting into said shower drain areaway.
(c) Placing said Shower Shield so that it forms on top said drain areaway said prongs prevent movement.

17. The method of claim 16 wherein said flat body of material and prongs are composed of polyethylene-terephthalate.

18. The method of claim 16 wherein said body of material is opaque in color.
