Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an automatic collapsible umbrella, which includes a totally invented structure to control the umbrella being opened or closed efficiently.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In prior art, it is known concerning about an automatic collapsible umbrella, as shown in FIG. 1 to 3, which includes an inner spring (2) received in a shaft (1) of the collapsible umbrella. The use of this umbrella is to press the shaft (1) firstly, as in FIG. 1, for compressing the spring (2) with an elastic force for extension. When user presses a button (11) first time, the inner engagement is released and the spring (2) is lengthened to extend the shaft (1). Meanwhile, a runner (3) around the shaft (1) is moved upward to extend the frame (4) by ropes (31) that completes the opening of the umbrella automatically, as shown in FIG. 2. At this moment, recovery springs (41) connected with the frame (4) are lengthened. When user presses the button (11) second time, an engaged head (32) in the shaft (1) is released from engagement, while the recovery force of the springs (41) lead the frame (4) being closed, as shown in FIG. 3. Hence, the umbrella will be closed automatically. The character of most prior embodiments is to press the shaft first for store the energy and to provide recovery springs under the frame. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 5,617,889 has such similar structure and will not be described in detail.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is to provide an automatic collapsible umbrella, which includes a new invented assembly of the shaft, springs, and the runner to control the umbrella being opened or closed easily and efficiently. Now, accompanying with the following drawings, the character of the present invention will be described here and after.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional plan view showing a conventional umbrella having the shaft being compressed for use.

FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional plan view of FIG. 1 showing the umbrella being opened.

FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional plan view of FIG. 2 showing the umbrella being closed.

FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional plan view showing the automatic collapsible umbrella having the shaft being lengthened for use according to the present invention.

FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional plan view of FIG. 4 showing the umbrella being opened.

FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional plan view of FIG. 5 showing the umbrella being closed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Please refer to FIG. 4 to 6, the present invention relates to an automatic collapsible umbrella, which includes a shaft (1) having several tubes, a runner assembly (5), and a frame (4). The runner assembly (5) includes an upper runner (51), a lower runner (52), and a spring (53) between the two runners. A slider (6) is provided at top portion of the shaft (1) and another spring (63) is provided between the slider (6) and upper joint (12) of the shaft. A rope (61) has its outer end pass by a roll (62) and then the slider (6) to connect with the upper joint (12).

In use, the character of the present invention is to lengthen the shaft (1) first, as shown in FIG. 4. At this moment, the spring (53) and the spring (63) are compressed with recovery force. When user presses the button (11) first time, the spring (53) is released to force the upper runner (51) and the lower runner (52) moving in opposite directions that leads the frame (4) to extend while the umbrella is opened, as shown in FIG. 5. When user presses the button (11) second time, it will release the engagement with the rope (61) as well as the spring (63), which can push the slider (6) moving downward and contracting the tubes of the shaft (1) while the frame (4) is closed and the umbrella is also closed automatically. It will be understood that another repeating process can control another application of the automatic collapsible umbrella according to the present invention.

Accordingly, the main character of this invention is to provide a new control mechanism for opening or closing the umbrella automatically, which is to pull the shaft of the umbrella first that is different from all other conventional structure in pressing procedure first. Obviously, the present invention will be allowable for patent.

Claims

1. An automatic collapsible umbrella including a shaft having several tubes, a runner assembly having an upper runner, a lower runner, and a middle spring, and a frame, wherein a slider is mounted on top portion of the shaft and a spring is between the slide and an upper joint of the shaft, and by use of the recovery force of the springs, the umbrella can be opened or closed automatically.

2. An automatic collapsible umbrella as claimed in claim 1, wherein a rope has its outer end pass by a roll and the slider to connect with the upper joint of the shaft.
