Tool suspension device
A tool suspension device has a suspension board and a holding assembly. The suspension board has a front, a first edge, a second edge, a top, a bottom and a hanging hole defined through the front near the top of the suspension board. The holding assembly is mounted on the front of the suspension board to hold the tool on the front of the suspension board and has a bracket and sliding holder. The bracket is pivotally attached to the first edge of the suspension board and has a receiving hole to hold a neck or a shank of the tool. The sliding holder is U-shaped, is slidably attached to the second edge of the suspension board and selectively clamps the second side of the bracket to the second edge of the suspension board.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a tool suspension device, and more particularly to a tool suspension device suitable that can be used repeatedly.
2. Description of Related Art
To display and to hold a tool, such as a pair of pliers, a suspension device is always used. A conventional tool suspension device substantially comprises a see-through plastic case and a cardboard card. The plastic case is attached to the cardboard card and has a cavity for receiving a specific tool inside. A person can view the tool through the see-through plastic case to decide to buy it or not.
However, when the see-through plastic case is detached from the cardboard card, neither the plastic case nor the cardboard card has a capability of holding the tool. Therefore, the conventional suspension device cannot be used repeatedly and is not friendly to environment. In addition, the user must prepare another container or holder to hold the tool, and this is inconvenient and money-wasting to the user.
To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a tool suspension device for pliers to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe main objective of the invention is to provide a tool suspension device that can be used repeatedly. The tool suspension device has a suspension board and a holding assembly. The suspension board has a front, a first edge, a second edge, a top, a bottom and a hanging hole defined through the front near the top of the suspension board. The holding assembly is mounted on the front of the suspension board to hold the tool on the front of the suspension board and has a bracket and sliding holder. The bracket is pivotally attached to the first edge of the suspension board and has a top, a bottom, two opposite sides including a first side and a second side and a receiving hole longitudinally defined through the top to the bottom between two sides of the bracket to hold a neck or a shank of the tool. The sliding holder is U-shaped, is slidably attached to the second edge of the suspension board and selectively clamps the second side of the bracket to the second edge of the suspension board.
Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3 and 5, a tool suspension device in accordance with the present invention comprises a suspension board (10) and a holding assembly (20).
The suspension board (10) has a front, a first edge, a second edge opposite to the first edge, a top and a bottom. A hanging hole (11) is defined through the front near the top of the suspension board (10) and is adapted to hang on a display stand. A bore (12) is optionally defined through the suspension board (10) to allow a part of a tool (50) to be held inside the bore (12).
The holding assembly (20) is mounted in the front of the suspension board (10) to hold a tool (50) on the front of the suspension board (10). The holding assembly (20) comprises a bracket (21) and a sliding holder (22). The bracket (21) is pivotally attached to the first edge of the suspension board (10). The bracket (21) has a top, a bottom, two opposite sides including a first side and a second side and a receiving hole (212) longitudinally defined through the top to the bottom between two sides of the bracket (21) to hold a neck or a shank of the tool (50). To pivotally attach the bracket (21) to the front of the suspension board (10), a pivotal shaft (213) is formed on the first side of the bracket (21) and a hook (13) is formed on the first edge of the suspension board (10) to pivotally hold the pivotal shaft (213). With the engagement between the hook (13) and the pivotal shaft (213), the bracket (21) is pivotally attached to the suspension board (10).
The sliding holder (22) is slidably attached to the second edge of the suspension board (10) and selectively clamps the second side of the bracket (21) to the second edge of the suspension board (10). The sliding holder (22) is U-shaped and has two opposite inner faces and two rails (222,223) formed respectively on the inner faces. A front track (14) and a rear track (15) are formed respectively on the front and rear near the second edge of the suspension board (10) to slidably hold the rails (222,223) on the holder (22) in respective. The front track (14) in the front of the suspension board (10) is substantially half of the rear track (15) in the rear of the board (10). A front track (214) is defined near the second side of the bracket (20) and aligns and communicates with the front track (14) in the suspension board (10), such that one rail (222) of the holder (20) can slide along the front tracks (14,214) in the suspension board (10) and the bracket (21). Thus, the holder (22) can slide along the tracks (14,15,214) in the suspension board (10) and the bracket (20) to a position where engages and clamps the second side of the bracket (21) to the second edge of the suspension board (10). Accordingly, a tool (50) can be securely held between the suspension board (10) and the bracket (21), and the user can hang the tool (50) with the tool suspension device on a wall or other object.
A track base (142) is formed on the suspension board (10), and the front track (14) is defined in the track base (142). A front limit (144) is formed on the track base (142) at an end far away from the bracket (21) and corresponds to and selectively abuts with the sliding holder (22). When the sliding holder (22) abuts with the front limit (144), the movement of the sliding holder (22) is stopped. In addition, a rear limit (16) is formed on the rear at the bottom of the suspension board (10) and corresponds to and selectively abuts with the sliding holder (22). With the abutment between the rear limit (16) and the sliding holder (22), the sliding holder (22) will not escape from the tracks (15,214) and will not disengage from the suspension board (10).
Furthermore, a stub (216) is formed on the bracket (21), and a hole (17) is defined in the front of the suspension board (10) and corresponds to the stub (216) on the bracket (21). When the bracket (21) is pivoted to be close to the suspension board (10), the stub (216) will be held inside the hole (17). With the engagement between the stub (216) and the hole (17), a positioning effect is provided to the bracket (21) to keep the bracket (21) from freely pivoting relative to the suspension board (10).

After the user buys the tool (50), the stop (224) can be cut off from the sliding holder (22). Thus, the sliding holder (22) can be moved relative to the suspension board (10) to allow the user take the tool (50) out of the bracket (21) for use.

Claims
1. A tool suspension device for a tool comprising:
- a suspension board with a front, a first edge, a second edge, a top, a bottom and a hanging hole defined through the front near the top of the suspension board; and
- a holding assembly mounted on the front of the suspension board to hold the tool on the front of the suspension board and comprising
- a bracket pivotally attached to the first edge of the suspension board and having a top, a bottom, two opposite sides including a first side and a second side and a receiving hole longitudinally defined through the top to the bottom between two sides of the bracket to hold a neck or a shank of the tool; and
- a U-shaped sliding holder slidably attached to the second edge of the suspension board and selectively clamping the second side of the bracket to the second edge of the suspension board.
2. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 1, wherein
- the sliding holder has two opposite inner faces and two rails formed respectively on the inner faces;
- the suspension board has a front track and a rear track formed respectively on the front and rear near the second edge of the suspension board to slidably hold the rails on the holder in respective; and
- the bracket of the holding assembly further has a front track defined near the second side of the bracket and aligning and communicating with the front track in the suspension board, whereby one rail of the sliding holder can slide along the front tracks in the suspension board and the bracket.
3. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 2, wherein the front track in the front of the suspension board is substantially half of the rear track in the rear of the suspension board.
4. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 3, wherein the suspension board has a track base formed on the front of the suspension board; and
- the front track is defined in the track base.
5. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 4, wherein the track base has a front limit formed at an end far away from the bracket and corresponding to and selectively abutting with the sliding holder.
6. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 5, wherein the suspension board has a rear limit formed on the rear at the bottom of the suspension board and corresponding to and selectively abutting with the sliding holder.
7. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 6, wherein
- the bracket further has a stub; and
- the suspension bard has a hole defined in the front of the suspension board and corresponding to and holding the stub on the bracket.
8. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 7, wherein the sliding holder further has a stop formed on the sliding holder and abutting against the bottom of the suspension board.
9. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 8, wherein
- the bracket has a pivotal shaft formed on the first side of the bracket; and
- the suspension board has a hook formed on the first edge of the suspension board to pivotally hold the pivotal shaft.
10. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 9, wherein the suspension board has a bore defined through the suspension board to hold a part of the tool inside.
11. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 2, wherein the suspension board has a track base formed on the front of the suspension board; and
- the front track is defined in the track base.
12. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the track base has a front limit formed at an end far away from the bracket and corresponding to and selectively abutting with the sliding holder.
13. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 12, wherein the suspension board has a rear limit formed on the rear at the bottom of the suspension board and corresponding to and selectively abutting with the sliding holder.
14. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 1, wherein
- the bracket further has a stub; and
- the suspension bard has a hole defined in the front of the suspension board and corresponding to and holding the stub on the bracket.
15. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the sliding holder further has a stop formed on the sliding holder and abutting against the bottom of the suspension board.
16. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 1, wherein
- the bracket has a pivotal shaft formed on the first side of the bracket; and
- the suspension board has a hook formed on the first edge of the suspension board to pivotally hold the pivotal shaft.
17. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the suspension board has a bore defined through the suspension board to hold a part of the tool inside.
18. The tool suspension device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the suspension board has a rear limit formed on the rear at the bottom of the suspension board and corresponding to and selectively abutting with the sliding holder.
