The present invention relates to a club head of a golf iron capable of changing its center of gravity, and more particularly to a club head of a golf iron that uses a specific gravity member to tune the center of gravity of the club head for a better stability of striking and controlling a golf ball as well as providing more changes to the appearance of the club head of the golf iron.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONAs technology and science advances, tremendous convenience is brought to the economic transactions. The increase of national income also makes people to place more emphases on leisure activities. The golf game provides the leisure fitness effect as well as serving as a social activity. With the promotion and publicity made by the mass media, the golf game has attracted many players.
In a whole set of golf clubs, there are various club heads in different shapes and made of different materials to meet the requirements of striking a golf ball. Among these clubs, irons are provided for long-distance, mid-distance, and short-distance strikes. A prior art club head structure definitely can achieve the purpose of striking a golf ball, but those club heads usually come with thicker lower side, so that their center of gravity is at the central position of the lower side of the club head, and thus affecting the strikes of a golf ball to different extents according to the use of irons for different distances. For example, a longer rod body is needed for a long-distance strike, and the distance between the ball and the golf player will be farther. When a golf player strikes a golf ball, the striking surface of the club head is in contact with the ball. Since the striking force easily causes the upper end of the external side of the club head to be elevated backward, therefore the striking ball may deviate from its intended course. For a mid-distance strike, the striking point of a golf iron is precisely at the hollow groove holes at the back side of the club head to reduce the striking force. After the ball is struck, the distance will be shortened. For a short-distance strike, the control of striking the ball is more difficult, and thus the prior art club head embeds a specific gravity member into the club head for tuning the specific gravity and solving the foregoing problem. The position of the center of gravity of the club head should vary according to the player's habits of striking a golf ball.
Refer to
1. Since the specific gravity member is embedded into the club head of the golf iron, the position of the center of gravity of the iron club head cannot be varied according to the user's height, weight, or different wind speeds, ball controls and golf courses. Therefore, the scope of applicability is restricted.
2. The specific gravity member is embedded into the interior of the iron club head, and thus the appearance of the club head structure of the golf iron cannot be changed, thus the club head is monotonous. If a player needs to have a different-size golf iron, it is not easy for the player to identify the difference between the irons by the club heads.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn view of the foregoing shortcomings of the prior art, the inventor of the present invention overcomes the shortcomings by providing a club head of a golf iron that evacuates a groove from the blade at the back side of the striking surface of the club head and embeds a lightweight specific gravity member into the groove, so that the groove and the specific gravity member are integrally connected together by thermal pressing. The specific gravity member is used to tune the center of gravity of the club head of the golf iron, and provide stability for striking and controlling a golf ball, and also give more changes to the appearance of the club head of the golf iron for changing the center of gravity of the golf club of the golf iron.
To achieve the foregoing objective, the present invention provides a club head of a golf iron capable of changing its center of gravity that comprises a club head and a specific gravity member coupled with each other by thermal pressing, and evacuates a groove from a blade disposed at the back of a striking surface of the club head of the golf iron. The lightweight specific gravity member is installed into the groove, so that the specific gravity member and the groove are integrally coupled by thermal pressing.
In summation of the description above, the following effects can be improved.
1. The present invention connects different specific gravity members to the blade at the back of a striking surface of a club head of a golf iron by thermal pressing for tuning the position of the center of gravity of the club head of a golf iron. The center of gravity of the club head can be changed according to a user's height and weight or different wind speeds, ball controls and golf courses to provide a better stability for striking and controlling a golf ball.
2. The specific gravity member of the present invention is made by injection molding, or the specific gravity member is stuck onto a blade at the back of a striking surface of a club head of a golf iron after the injection molding so as to integrally combine the specific gravity member and the club head.
3. The present invention combines different specific gravity members into the groove at the blade at the back of the striking surface of the club head of the golf iron. The invention will not damage the club head structure of the golf iron, but can maintain the original strength of the club head of the golf iron.
4. The appearance of the specific gravity member of the invention can be changed, so that a different specific gravity member can go with a different club head of a golf iron. Thus, it is easy to distinguish a golf iron from the club head, and the invention also provides a more artistic appearance.
In summation of the description above, a specific gravity member of the invention is installed into the groove of the blade at the back of the striking surface of the club head of the golf iron by thermal pressing, injection molding, or gluing after the injection molding for tuning the center of gravity of the club head of the golf iron, as well as modifying the appearance of the club head of the golf iron.
