Golf bag with corrugated internal wall

-

A golf bag including a cylindrical bag body having the structure of a corrugated board, a rigid base plate to close a bottom of the cylindrical bag body, and a rigid frame at an opening of the cylindrical bag body. The corrugations are upright, which strengthens the cylindrical bag body's capacity against distortion. This golf bag has significantly stronger loading capacity than it done by the technology in existence for the same thickness of internal walls; that is to say, under the same circumstances of loading capacity, the thickness of internal wall for this golf bag will be extremely reduced. The corrugations can be either continuous or non-continuous in the circumference direction. The cross sectional shape of the upright corrugations can be arc, rectangles or triangles, each of which having effect to enhance the rigidity of the internal wall.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention involves in the technical field of golf-related products, and especially involves in the improvement of the body structure of golf bags. This invention applies to various golf bags.

2. Description of the Related Art

Golfing sport is gradually becoming prevalent all around the world as the standard of living is improved and people seek for noble sport. Since golfers need to take the golf bag for a long time or frequently travel from one site to another before and after the sport, carrying the bag and club to enjoy the sport, the lightness and fastness of the golf bag are very important for them.

A golf bag generally consists of a cylindrical bag body, a rigid base plate to close a bottom of the cylindrical bag body, and a rigid frame at an opening of the cylindrical bag body. Most cylindrical bag bodies of the contemporary golf bag adopt rigid plastic plate as the internal wall material, which has to be of adequate thickness so as to assure the strength and rigidity of the bag body. Thus it is very difficult to reduce the weight of a golf bag. On the other hand, if portability is gained by reducing the thickness of rigid plastic plate of the internal wall, its loading capacity and lifetime will be affected.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This invention offers a solution to the technical problems by providing a portable golf bag having rigid bag body which substantially obviates one or more problems of conventional golf bags.

To solve the aforesaid technical problems, the present invention provides a golf bag including a cylindrical bag body having an internal wall with a corrugated board structure, a rigid base plate to close a bottom of the cylindrical bag body, and a rigid frame at an opening of the cylindrical bag body. The corrugations are upright (parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bag), which strengthens the cylindrical bag body's capacity against distortion. With this structure, when compared to other bags with internal wall material of the same thickness, this golf bag has significantly stronger loading capacity; that is to say, under the same circumstances of loading capacity, the thickness of the internal wall material for this golf bag will be significantly reduced.

The corrugated shape of corrugated board of the internal wall of said cylindrical bag body is upright and can be continuous, non-continuous, or intermittent continuous in the circumference direction. The cross sectional shape of the upright corrugation of said corrugated board of the internal wall can be arcs, rectangles or triangles, each of which having the effect to enhance the rigidity of the internal wall.

This invention has the following benefits in comparison with existing technologies:

1. It decreases the weight of the golf bag.

2. It increases the loading capacity of the golf bag.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a partial cut-away view that illustrates a golf bag with a corrugated internal wall according to an embodiment of the invention.

FIG. 2 illustrates the cross section of the corrugated wall of the golf bag body having continuous arc corrugations in the circumference direction according to one embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 3 illustrates the cross section of the corrugated wall of the golf bag body having intermittent continuous rectangular corrugations in the circumference direction according to another embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 4 illustrates the cross section of the corrugated wall of the golf bag body having non-continuous rectangular corrugations in the circumference direction according to another embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 5 illustrates the cross section of the corrugated wall of the golf bag body having continuous triangular corrugations in the circumference direction according to another embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The following are detailed description of the embodiment of the invention with reference to the Figures.

Referring to FIG. 1, an embodiment of this invention is a golf bag with corrugated internal wall, wherein the internal wall 11 of the cylindrical bag body 1 has the structure of a board with corrugations in the vertical direction (i.e. parallel to the longitudinal axis of bag body). The bottom of the cylindrical bag body 1 connects to the rigid base plate 2 used to close the bottom of the cylindrical bag body 1; the top of the cylindrical bag body connects to the rigid frame 3 to maintain the shape of the opening of the cylindrical bag body. The internal wall 11 is rendered in corrugations shape in a vertical direction, which keeps the cylindrical bag body 1 from being distorted.

The corrugations of the board of the internal wall 11 of the cylindrical bag body 1 can be continuous in the circumference direction. As shown in FIG. 2, the internal wall 11 has a cylindrical corrugated board structure and its cross section is a circle that includes continuous arc corrugations.

The corrugations of the board of the internal wall 11 of the cylindrical bag body 1 can be non-continuous in the circumference direction. As shown in FIG. 3, the internal wall 11 has a cylindrical corrugated board structure and its cross section is a circle that includes intermittent continuous rectangular corrugations.

The corrugations of the board of the internal wall 11 of the cylindrical bag body 1 can be non-continuous in the circumference direction. As shown in FIG. 4, the internal wall 11 has a cylindrical corrugated board structure and its cross section is a circle that includes non-continuous rectangular corrugations.

Referring to FIG. 5, the cylindrical corrugated board of the internal wall 11 of the cylindrical bag body 1 can be a circle and its cross section includes continuous triangular corrugations. Each of the structures mentioned above can strengthen the rigidity of the internal wall 11.

In these embodiments, the area of the internal wall 11 where the cylindrical bag body 1 connects to the rigid base plate 2 does not have corrugations; the area of the internal wall 11 where the cylindrical bag body 1 connects to the rigid frame 3 does not have corrugations; and the area of the internal wall 11 where the handle 4 connects to the cylindrical bag body 1 does not have corrugations either.

This invention of golf bag with a corrugated internal wall 11 has significantly stronger loading capacity than the conventional golf bags for the same thickness of internal walls; that is to say, under the same loading capacity, the thickness of the internal wall 11 for this golf bag will be significantly reduced, thus reducing the weight of the golf bag.

It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modification and variations can be made in the golf bag of the present invention without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present invention cover modifications and variations that come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
