Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention is related to a fan frame and particularly to a fan frame with a fan wheel capable of migrating secondary flow phenomenon between the fan blades and guide flow members.

2. Brief Description of the Related Art

Generally, the fan is used for removing heat and in order to enhance effect of heat dissipation, increasing air intake of the fan is a way worth to considered. Taiwanese Patent Publication No. M253208 discloses a fan frame 10 with an opening. The frame 10 includes a plurality of lateral walls at the edge thereof and the opening accommodates a fan wheel 16. The fluid induced by the fan wheel 16 enters the fan frame 10 via the top of the opening 13 and discharged outward via the bottom of the opening 13. A lateral side of each of the side walls 12 bends inward and forms a recess 17 with another side wall 12 adjacent to it for the induced air being able to enter laterally. However, although the opening 12 at the lateral side of the frame 11, the secondary flow phenomenon generally occurs due to an equal distance being formed between the circumferential sides of the fan blades and frame 10.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In order to solve the preceding problem, an object of the present invention is to provide a fan frame, which is capable of migrating the secondary flow phenomenon between the fan blades and the guide flow members.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a fan frame in which the guide flow members provides an involute respectively for the guide flow members increasing pressure and increasing air intake so as to enhance greater discharged air.

A further object of the present invention is to provide a fan frame capable of promoting characteristics and performance of the fan.

Accordingly, a fan frame with a fan wheel includes a plurality of guide flow members and a fan wheel. The guide flow members are joined to a rib part with a plurality of ribs in a way of each of the guide flow members being connected to at least one of the ribs. Each guide flow member extends along a curve respectively, which is non-concentric to each other. Further, an opening is defined with the guide flow members. The fan wheel is disposed in the opening with a plurality of fan blades and each of the fan blades has a circumferential side spacing apart from the flow guide members an inconsistent distance for migrating a secondary flow phenomenon between the respective fan blade and the flow guide members.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIG. 1, the first preferred embodiment of a fan frame according to the present invention provides a plurality of flow guide members 11 and a rib part 12 with a plurality of ribs extending outward to be fixedly attached to each of the flow guide members 11 respectively and the central section of the rib part 12 forms a base 13 for being mounted with a motor (not shown). A fan wheel 20 with a plurality of fan blades 21 is attached to the motor.

Each of the flow guide members 11 extends along a curve and is disposed non-concentrically to each other so as to define an opening 14 for air current enters via the fan frame via the opening 14. All points of the circumferential side on each of the fan blades 21 have inconsistent distance to the guide flow members 11 so that the distances between outer corners 210, 210′ of the respective fan blade 21 and the respective guide flow member 11 are unequal, that is, distances d, d′ shown in FIG. 10 are different and it results from the curve of involute. Under this circumference, secondary flow phenomenon of air current between the outer corners of each of the fan blades 21 and the respective guide flow member 11 can be mitigated for the guide flow members 11 being capable of increasing pressure and increasing air intake for increasing discharged air moving outward via clearances between the ribs of the rib part.

Ends of the guide flow members 11 can be arranged to face to each other as shown in FIG. 2 or overlap to each other as shown in FIG. 3 or to space apart from each other as shown in FIG. 4. It is noted the guide flow members 11 space from each other actually although they face or overlap to each other visually. Hence, when the fan wheel 20 is in a state of running, air current is induced to enter the fan frame via the clearances surrounding the guide flow members 11 in addition to entering the fan frame via the opening 14. Due to arrangement of the preceding involute, the guide flow members 11 are capable of increasing pressure to increase air intake and discharged air greatly.

Each of the guide flow members 11 provides a cross section of a rectangular shape with widths L1, L2 being equal as shown in FIG. 5 or a polygon shape with widths L1 being less than L2 or a rectangular shape with a cut out corner as shown in FIG. 7 or a rectangular shape with two diagonal corners being cut out as shown in FIG. 8. Further, the cross section of the respective guide flow members 11 can be a trapezoid shape as shown in FIG. 9.

The rib part 12 can provide a fixing hole at the rib thereof respectively (not shown) such that the fan frame can be fixed to an object ready for being cooled (not shown) such as a heat dissipation module. Besides, the number of the guide flow member 11 can be increased or decreased according to actual need. The guide flow members 11 can be joined to each other with a joining part 30 respectively. The joining part 30 is disposed at any position of the guide flow members 11 as shown in FIGS. 10, 11 and 12. The base seat 13 can be at any place in the fan frame instead of at the central area of the rib part 12.

While the invention has been described with referencing to preferred embodiments thereof, it is to be understood that modifications or variations may be easily made without departing from the spirit of this invention, which is defined by the appended claims.
