Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a wall rack and more particularly to an adjustable wall rack that can be conveniently adjusted to fit the size of the device to be supported thereon.

2. Description of the Related Art

A wall rack may be used and fastened to a vertical wall to support a monitor, wall ornament, cabinet, LCD TV, Plasma TV, or the like. Conventional wall racks for this purpose commonly have a certain thickness that requires much installation space. Further, conventional wall racks commonly have a fixed size. For supporting different objects of different sizes, different wall racks must be used.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a wall rack, which is adjustable to fit the size of the device to be supported thereon.

To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, the wall rack comprises a bottom board, which comprises two L-shaped coupling rails transversely provided in parallel at a front side thereof and a plurality of elongated mounting slots cut through front and back sides therefore for fastening to a vertical wall with screws, a locating board, which is slidably supported on the bottom board, comprising two L-shaped coupling rails transversely provided at a back side thereof and respectively coupled to the L-shaped coupling rails of the bottom board and a plurality of locating grooves transversely arranged in parallel at a front side thereof, two locating bars, which are mounted on the locating board for supporting a device on said locating board, each having a plurality of elongated mounting slots, and fastening elements respectively mounted in the elongated mounting slots of the locating bars and engaged into the locating grooves of the locating board to secure the locating bars to the locating bard.

The adjustable wall rack further comprises two eye-end screws respectively fastened to the bottom board and the locating board at one side, and a lock fastened to the eye-end screws to lock the locating board to the bottom board.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is an elevational view of an adjustable wall rack according to the present invention.

FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the adjustable wall rack according to the present invention.

FIG. 3 illustrates the locating bars fastened to the locating board in a vertical position and a padlock fastened to the locating board and the bottom board according to the present invention.

FIG. 4 shows the locating bars fastened to the locating board in an oblique position according to the present invention.

FIG. 5 shows a triangle block fixedly provided at the back side of the bottom board according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, an adjustable wall rack in accordance with the present invention is shown comprising a bottom board 10, a locating board 2, and two locating bars 3.

The bottom board 1 comprises two L-shaped coupling rails 11 transversely provided in parallel at the front side, a plurality of screw holes 12 respectively disposed at the two opposite lateral sides, and a plurality of elongated mounting slots 13 cut through the front and back sides.

The locating board 2 comprises two L-shaped coupling rails 21 transversely provided in parallel at the back side and respectively coupled to the coupling rails 11 of the bottom board 1, a plurality of locating grooves 22 transversely arranged in parallel at the front side, and a plurality of screw holes 23 respectively disposed at the two opposite lateral sides.

The locating bars 3 are channel bars, each having a plurality of elongated mounting slots 31 aligned in line.

Screws 4 are mounted in the elongated mounting slots 13 and fastened to the wall to affix the bottom board 1 to the wall. Thereafter, the coupling rails 21 of the locating board 2 are respectively coupled to the coupling rails 11 of the bottom board 1 to have the locating board 2 be supported on the bottom board 1, and then screws 5 are respectively mounted in the elongated mounting slots 31 and engaged into the locating grooves 22 to secure the locating bars 3 to the locating board 2 for holding a monitor, wall ornament, cabinet, LCD or plasma TV, etc.

Referring to FIG. 3, two eye-end screws 6 are respectively fastened to one screw hole 12 at the bottom board 1 and one screw hole 23 at the locating board 2, and a padlock 7 is fastened to the eye-end screws 6 to lock the locating board 2 to the bottom board 1.

The two locating bars 3 can be fastened to the locating board 2 in a vertical position as shown in FIG. 3, or in an oblique position as shown in FIG. 4.

Referring to FIG. 5, the bottom board 1 has at least one triangle block 8 fixedly provided at the back side for supporting the bottom board 1 on a vertical wall in a tilted position.

Although a particular embodiment of the invention had been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
