Swiftly adjustable film packing device

A swiftly adjustable film packing device includes a base, and an extensible rod. The base has an elongate tube extending sidewise, and the elongate tube is provided with plural through holes spaced apart equidistantly. The extensible rod slidably fits in the elongate tube and has a position hole in an inner end section, and a spring deposited in the extensible rod under the position hole to expand outward with its elasticity to fit in the poison hole and further in one of the plural through holes of the elongate tube so as to adjust the length of the packing device for suiting to the length of a film roll to be installed thereon. Then the time for installing a film roll can be reduced by only adjusting the position of the extensible rod relative to the elongate tube.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates to a film packing device, particularly to one provided with an elongate tube bored with a plurality of through holes and an extensible rod slidably fitting in the elongate tube for swiftly adjusting the length of the packing device, and at the same time a grip provided at an end of the extensible rod to make minute adjustment as well.

2. Description of the Prior Art

A conventional film packing device shown in FIG. 1 includes a base 1, an elongate tube 2 fixed sidewise to the base 1 and a threaded rod 3. The elongate tube 2 is provided with female threads in an open end to engage the male threads of the threaded rod 3. Then the length of the packing device, in other words, the length of the elongate tube 2 plus the adjusted threaded rod 3, can be adjusted by screwing the threaded rod 3, with a film roll installed around the elongate tube 2.

However, the conventional film packing device has its length adjusted by screwing the threaded rod 3 relative to the elongate tube 2, quite slow in changing its length as one round of rotation of the threaded rod 3 can only move a length of a pitch of the threads, taking much time in adjusting the length of the packing device to suit to that of a film roll.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The feature of the invention is a base having an elongate tube extending sidewise and an extensible rod fitting slidably in the elongate tube. The elongate tube is provided with plural through holes spaced apart equidistantly, and the extensible rod is also tubular and having a position hole in an inner end section, and a bent spring with a small projection deposited in the extensible rod to elastically expand outward in or shrink down from the position hole and further one of the plural through holes of the elongate tube so the length of the elongate tube together with the extensible rod may be adjusted to suit to any length of a film roll to be installed on the elongate tube. Therefore, the whole length of the packing device, in other words, the whole length of the elongate tube together with the adjusted extensible rod for a film roll, can be adjusted by moving the extensible rod inward or outward relative to the elongate tube and kept secured at the adjusted position by the projection of the spring fitting in the position hole and one of the through holes of the elongate tube at the same time, saving time in handling.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:

FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a conventional film packing device;

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a swiftly adjustable film packing device in the present invention;

FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of the swiftly adjustable film packing device in the present invention;

FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of the swiftly adjustable film packing device minutely adjusted in the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

A preferred embodiment of a swiftly adjustable film packing device in the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, includes a base 10, and an extensible rod 20.

The base 10 has an elongate tube 11 extending sidewise from the center of the base 10, and the elongate tube 11 is provided with a preset number of through holes 111 spaced apart equidistantly. Further, a position limit block 12 is fixed with an inner end of the elongate tube 11 and also attached with the base 10, formed as a round stepped disc provided with plural slip-preventing lines 121 formed radially on its surface, and a grip 13 provided to extend out of the base 10.

The extensible rod 20 is also tubular, having a position hole 201 in a front-end section, and a spring 21 made of a bent elastic strip and fitted in the front-end section just under the position hole 201. The spring 21 has a small projection 211 on top to fit in or retreat from the position hole 201, and the extensible rod 20 has male threads 202 on an outer end section to engage with female threads of another grip 22, and a position limit block 23 threadably combined with the extensible rod 20.

In using the film packing device, as shown in FIGS. 3, 4 and 5, if a film roll 30 is to be installed on the packing device, the extensible rod 20 is first taken off the elongate tube 11, and the film roll 30 is pushed around the elongate tube 11. Then the projection 211 of the spring 21 fitting through one of the plural through holes 111 and also exposed out of the position hole 201 is pressed down to enable the extensible rod 20 slide gradually in the elongate tube 11, with the spring 21 pressed by the inner surface of the elongate tube 11 and having an outward elasticity. Then after the position of the extensible rod 20 is moved to proper position to match with the length of a film roll 30, the spring 21 may elastically push up the projection 211 in the position hole 201 and then exposed out of the of the through holes 201 when the projection 211 moves to that hole 111 needed. Then the grip 22 of the extensible rod 20 can be rotated to proceed minute adjustment of its position on the extendible rod 20 so that the position block 12 of the base 10 and the position limit block 23 of the grip 22 may clamp tightly the film roll 30 for a film to be pulled out for use.

The invention has the following advantages, as can be understood from the foresaid description.

    • 1. The elongate tube and the extensible rod can be swiftly adjusted to enable a film roll installed on, enhancing work effect.
    • 2. The grip of the extension rod can be used for minutely adjusting the extensible rod relative to the elongate tube for keeping a film roll tightly on the elongate tube.
    • 3. The position limit block on the base and on the extension rod can keep a film roll of any size in a tight condition, and the slip-preventing lines radially formed on the surface of the position limit block can give friction to the inner side of the film roll, and force the film roll to rotate together with the position limit block.

While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
