Undergarment with storage pocket
An undergarment which provides for a compact attached storage pouch for the undergarment or other items when the undergarment is worn is disclosed. The undergarment has a pair of leg openings. A waistband with a waist opening. A front panel is provided between the leg members and the waist band. A front piece is provided forming a pouch with an interior surface on the front panel. The undergarment may be compacted and stored in the pouch by inverting the front piece and exposing the interior surface forming a package.
This invention relates to a clothing item which has a pouch for compact storage of the garment.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTIONUndergarments are well known clothing items. Standard undergarments do not provide for uniform storage as there is no set pattern for folding such garments. Further, such garments are for the most part utilitarian and do not have any accessories which allow a user to carry items.
Thus, there exists a need for an undergarment which may be stored in a uniform manner. There is also a need for an undergarment with a storage pocket.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThese needs and others may be met by the present invention, one example of which is an undergarment which has a pair leg openings and a waistband with a waist opening. The undergarment has a front panel between the leg members and the waist band. A front piece forms a pouch with an interior surface on the front panel. The undergarment may be compacted and stored in the pouch by inverting the front piece and exposing the interior surface forming a package.
It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description are not limiting but are intended to provide further explanation of the invention claimed. The accompanying drawings, which are incorporated in and constitute part of this specification, are included to illustrate and provide a further understanding of the method and system of the invention. Together with the description, the drawings serve to explain the principles of the invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
While the present invention is capable of embodiment in various forms, there is shown in the drawings and will hereinafter be described a presently preferred embodiment with the understanding that the present disclosure is to be considered as an exemplification of the invention, and is not intended to limit the invention to the specific embodiment illustrated.
Referring now more particularly to
The undergarment 10 has a waistband 30 which defines the waist opening 16 and accommodates the wearer's waist. The waistband 30 has an elastic member 32 which constricts the waistband 30 to create friction between the waistband 30 and the user's waist to grip the undergarment 10 on the user. The front panel 18, the rear panel 24 and the right and left leg panels 20 and 22 are preferably constructed of the same kind of fabric. In this example, the panels 18 and 24 and panels 20 and 22 are constructed of cotton, however, any suitable fabric such as polyester, silk or blended fabrics may be used.
The front panel 18 has an interior surface 34 and an exterior surface 36. The front panel 18 also has a top edge 38 which is stitched to the waistband 30. The waistband 30 has an exterior surface 40 which allows the display of brand logos or other types of insignia. The waistband 30 also has an interior surface 42 which is in contact with the user's waist.
The front panel 18 has a storage pouch 50 which is formed on the interior surface 34. The storage pouch 50 has a front piece 52 which is fixed to the front panel 18 via a hem line 54 which defines the shape of the pouch 50. The pouch 50 is preferably fixed to the middle of the top edge of the front panel 18. In this position, the pocket 50 can be used to enhance the physique of the wearer.
The front piece 52 is made of an elastic and expandable material. The front piece 52 has a top edge 56 which forms an opening with the front panel 18. The top edge 56 which creates the opening on one side of the pouch 50 is directly under the waistband 30. The pouch 50 may be used for storage of a wearer's items when the undergarment 10 is worn. The pouch is thus formed between the front piece 52 and a surface area 58 formed on the front panel 18 which is defined by the hem line 54 which attaches the front piece 52 to the front panel 18. As may be shown in
The pouch 50 allows compact storage of the undergarment 10 as shown in
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made in the method and system of the present invention without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. Thus, the present invention is not limited by the foregoing descriptions but is intended to cover all modifications and variations that come within the scope of the spirit of the invention and the claims that follow.
