Toothbrush with inclined bristles

Abstract

A toothbrush includes an elongated handle having a brushing end, and a brushing head. The brushing head includes a brush member integrally extended at the brushing end of the handle, a plurality of brushing bristles vertically extended from a front portion of the brush member to form a top brushing surface of the brushing bristles, and a plurality of inclined bristles upwardly extended from the brush member, in such a manner that the inclined bristles form a predetermined inclined angle with the brushing surface of the brushing bristles, so that the inclined bristles are adapted to substantially brush teeth and gum of a user.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a toothbrush, and more particularly to a toothbrush comprising a plurality of specifically inclined brushing bristles for effectively cleaning the user's teeth.

2. Description of Related Arts

Toothbrushes are extremely important in that they are capable of removing dirt in the user's gum and teeth for preventing tooth decay and certain oral diseases. A conventional toothbrush comprises a handle, and a brush head provided on a brushing end of the handle, wherein a brush head comprises a plurality of brushing bristles movably extending at the brush head in such a manner that a user is able to hold on the handle and brush his teeth by the brushing bristles.

There are several disadvantages for this kind of conventional toothbrush. First, almost all of the brushing bristles are vertically extending at the brush head so that when the user uses the toothbrush, the angle between the brushing bristles and the user's teeth may not be such that the brushing bristles can effectively remove the dirt trapped in the user's gum. Consequently, even though the user brushes his teeth in a regular basis, there is a high chance that the user may nevertheless develop tooth decay simply because the toothbrush fails to clean the dirt in the user's gum.

In order to achieve effective brushing of teeth, researches have shown that the toothbrush should brush the teeth at approximately 45 degrees. Conceivably, it is impossible for everyone to follow this proper brushing practice. The result is that conventional toothbrushes are generally ineffective in preventing tooth decay.

As a matter of fact, there exist automatic toothbrushes which are electrically driven to brush the users' teeth. Although these toothbrushes are in general more effective in prevent tooth decay than conventional manual toothbrushes, they are far more expensive than conventional toothbrushes and many people simply cannot afford to buy one. Thus, those who are still using conventional manual toothbrushes are at risk from tooth decay and other associated oral diseases.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

A main object of the present invention is to provide a toothbrush comprising a plurality of specifically inclined brushing bristles for effectively cleaning the user's teeth so as to optimally prevent tooth decay and other associated oral diseases.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a toothbrush which is capable of brushing a user's teeth at an optimal angle without needing the user's special tuning of the handle's angle.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a toothbrush which does not involve complicated mechanical and electrical components so as to minimize the manufacturing cost and the ultimate selling price of the present invention.

Accordingly, in order to accomplish the above objects, the present invention provides a toothbrush, comprising:

an elongated handle having a brushing end; and

a brushing head which comprises a brush member integrally extended at the brushing end of the handle, a plurality of brushing bristles vertically extended from a front portion of the brush member to form a top brushing surface of the brushing bristles, and a plurality of inclined bristles upwardly extended from the brush member, in such a manner that the inclined bristles form a predetermined inclined angle with the brushing surface of the brushing bristles, so that the inclined bristles are adapted to substantially brush teeth and gum of a user.

These and other objectives, features, and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, the accompanying drawings, and the appended claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIG. 1 to FIG. 3 of the drawings, a toothbrush according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is illustrated, in which the toothbrush comprises an elongated handle 10 having a holder end 11 and a brushing end 12, and a brushing head 20.

The brushing head 20 comprises a brush member 21 integrally extended at the brushing end 12 of the handle 10, a plurality of brushing bristles 22 vertically extended from a front portion of the brush member 21 to form a top brushing surface 221 of the brushing bristles, and a plurality of inclined bristles 23 upwardly extended from the brush member 21, in such a manner that the inclined bristles 23 form a predetermined inclined angle with the brushing surface 221 of the brushing bristles 22, so that the inclined bristles 23 are adapted to substantially brush teeth and gum of a user.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the inclined bristles 23 are extended from the brush member 21 in a side-by-side manner with respective to the brushing bristles 22, wherein the inclined bristles 23 are inclined at 45 degrees with respective to the brushing surface 221 so as to optimally brush inner sides of the user's teeth and the user's gum.

It is important to point out that a height of each of the inclined bristles 23 is preferably greater than a height of each of the brushing bristles 22 so that a top portion of each of the inclined bristles 23 is inclined at (180 degrees minus 45 degrees) 135 degrees with respect to the top brushing surface 221 for substantially brushing the user's teeth and gum.

As a result, a top portion of each of the inclined bristles 23 forms an inclined surface 231 which has an angle of inclination at approximately 135 degrees with respect to the brushing surface 221. According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the brushing bristles 22 and the inclined bristles 23 are made of durable yet flexible materials extended from the brush member 21 for brushing the user's teeth.

Referring to FIG. 2 of the drawings, the inclined bristles 23 are divided into a first and a second bristles row 231, 232 sandwiching the brushing bristles 22 so that the user may easily brush the gap between his teeth and the gum. In other words, the inclined bristles 23 are extended from two side portions of the brush member 21 while the brushing bristles 22 are extended at a mid portion of the brush member 21 to be sandwiched by the inclined bristles 23. Moreover, a width of the brushing bristles 22 is larger than a height of a user's teeth so that the brushing bristles 22 are adapted to substantially brush the user's teeth.

The operation of the present invention is as follows: the user simply needs to hold the holder end 11 of the elongated handle 10 and brush his teeth and gum by the brushing head 21. Since the inclined bristles 23 is inclined at 45 degrees with respect to horizontal, the inclined bristles 23 are adapted to effectively brush a gap between the teeth surface and the corresponding user's gum so as to effectively remove dirt from the user's teeth.

From the foregoing descriptions, it can be shown that the above objects of the present invention are substantially accomplished. The present invention provides a toothbrush which comprises the plurality of specifically inclined brushing bristles 23 for effectively cleaning the user's teeth so as to optimally prevent tooth decay and other associated oral diseases. The user of the present invention does not need to turn his arm at a bizarre orientation in order to effectively brush his or her teeth.

One skilled in the art will understand that the embodiment of the present invention as shown in the drawings and described above is exemplary only and not intended to be limiting.

It will thus be seen that the objects of the present invention have been fully and effectively accomplished. It embodiments have been shown and described for the purposes of illustrating the functional and structural principles of the present invention and is subject to change without departure from such principles. Therefore, this invention includes all modifications encompassed within the spirit and scope of the following claims.

Claims

1. A toothbrush, comprising:

an elongated handle having a brushing end; and

a brushing head which comprises a brush member integrally extended at said brushing end of said handle, a plurality of brushing bristles vertically extended from a front portion of said brush member to form a top brushing surface of said brushing bristles, and a plurality of inclined bristles upwardly extended from said brush member, in such a manner that said inclined bristles form a predetermined inclined angle with said brushing surface of said brushing bristles, so that said inclined bristles are adapted for substantially brushing teeth and a gap between said teeth and gum of a user.

The toothbrush, as recited in claim 1, wherein inclined bristles are extended from said brush member side-by-side with respective to said brushing bristles, wherein each of said inclined bristles has a height gradually increasing with increasing distance from said brushing bristles so as to form an inclined surface having said predetermined inclined angle with respect to said brushing surface.

3. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 2, wherein said inclined bristles are spacedly divided into a first and a second bristles row sandwiching said brushing bristles on said brush member for allowing said user to effectively brush a gap between said teeth and said gum.

4. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 2, wherein a width of said brushing bristles formed on said brush member is larger than a height of said teeth so that said brushing bristles are adapted to substantially brush said teeth.

5. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 3, wherein a width of said brushing bristles formed on said brush member is larger than a height of said teeth so that said brushing bristles are adapted to substantially brush said teeth.

6. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 1, wherein said predetermined inclined angle is approximately one hundred and thirty five degrees with respect to said brushing surface for optimally brushing said teeth and said gap between said teeth and said gum of said user.

7. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 2, wherein said predetermined inclined angle is approximately one hundred and thirty five degrees with respect to said brushing surface for optimally brushing said teeth and said gap between said teeth and said gum of said user.

8. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 4, wherein said predetermined inclined angle is approximately one hundred and thirty five degrees with respect to said brushing surface for optimally brushing said teeth and said gap between said teeth and said gum of said user.

9. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 5, wherein said predetermined inclined angle is approximately one hundred and thirty five degrees with respect to said brushing surface for optimally brushing said teeth and said gap between said teeth and said gum of said user.

10. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 6, wherein said brushing bristles and said inclined bristles are made of durable and flexible materials adapted for substantially brushing said teeth of said user.

11. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 7, wherein said brushing bristles and said inclined bristles are made of durable and flexible materials adapted for substantially brushing said teeth of said user.

12. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 8, wherein said brushing bristles and said inclined bristles are made of durable and flexible materials adapted for substantially brushing said teeth of said user.

13. The toothbrush, as recited in claim 9, wherein said brushing bristles and said inclined bristles are made of durable and flexible materials adapted for substantially brushing said teeth of said user.
