Nail gun with a pad holding device
A nail gun has a body, a nail magazine, a pad supplier and a pad holding device. The pad holding device is mounted between the body and the pad supplier and has a base plate, an outer cap and a holding ring. The base plate is attached to the body, is connected to the pad supplier and has a pad channel and a holding hole. The outer cap has an outlet and a recess. The holding ring is C-shaped, is held inside the recess in the outer cap, aligns with the holding hole and has an inner diameter and an outer diameter. The inner diameter is slightly small than that of the holding hole to make the holding ring partially overlap with the holding hole to allow the holding ring to be expanded inside the recess.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a nail gun, and more particularly to a nail gun with a pad holding device that has a simplified structure.
2. Description of Related Art
To keep an object from being broken or damaged due to a huge impact force applied by a nail, a pad is always be simultaneously shot from a nail gun at that time of shooting the nail from the nail gun. The pad can provide a buffering effect to the impact force between the object and the nail to keep the object from being damaged. With reference to
Therefore, the diameter of the holding hole (644) must be precise to hold the pad before the pad being shot and to allow the pad to pass through, to manufacturing a nail gun with a pad holding device is time-consuming and costly. In addition, there is not any element between the base plate (62) and middle plate (64) to hold the pad at a fixed location where aligning with the muzzle (502) precisely. The pad in the pad channel will not align with the muzzle (502) and the holding hole (644) when the pad is shot with the nail, and this easily causes the damage of the pad.
To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide a nail gun with a pad holding device to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe main objective of the invention is to provide a nail gun with a pad holding device that has a simplified structure. The nail gun has a body, a nail magazine, a pad supplier and a pad holding device. The body has a muzzle. The nail magazine is attached to the body for containing nails inside. The pad supplier is connected to the body for containing pads inside. The pad holding device is mounted between the muzzle of the body and the pad supplier and has a base plate, an outer cap and a holding ring. The base plate is attached to the muzzle of the body, is connected to the pad supplier and has a pad channel and a holding hole. The pad channel is defined in the base plate. The holding hole communicates with the pad channel, aligns with the muzzle in the body and has a diameter. The outer cap is attached to the base plate, corresponds to the holding hole and has an outlet and a recess. The outlet is defined through the outer cap and aligns with the holding hole in the base plate. The recess is defined in the outer cap at a side facing the base plate, around and communicating with the outlet and has an inner diameter. The holding ring is C-shaped, is held inside the recess in the outer cap, aligns with the holding hole and has an inner diameter and an outer diameter. The inner diameter is slightly small than that of the holding hole to make the holding ring partially overlap with the holding hole. The outer diameter is smaller than the inner diameter of the recess in the outer cap to allow the holding ring to be expanded inside the recess.
Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
With reference to
The pad holding device (20) is mounted between the muzzle (102) of the body (10) and the pad supplier (12) and comprises a base plate (22), an outer cap (24) and a holding ring (26). The base plate (22) is attached to the muzzle (102) of the body (10), is connected to the pad supplier (12) and has a pad channel (222) defined in the base plate (22) and a holding hole (224). The holding hole (224) communicates with the pad channel (222), aligns with the muzzle (102) in the body (10) and has a diameter. The holding hole (224) has a depth larger than that of the pad channel (222).
The outer cap (24) is attached to the base plate (22) and corresponds to the holding hole (224). The outer cap (24) has an outlet (242) and a ring recess (244). The outlet (242) is defined through the outer cap (24) and aligns with the holding hole (224) in the base plate (22). The recess (244) is defined in the outer cap (24) at a side facing the base plate (22), is around and communicates with the outlet (242) and has an inner diameter.
The holding ring (26) is C-shaped, is held inside the recess (244) in the outer cap (24) and aligns with the holding hole (224). The holding ring (26) has an inner diameter slightly small than that of a pad and that of the holding hole (224) to make the holding ring (26) partially overlap with the holding hole (224). The holding ring (26) has an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the recess (244) in the outer cap (24) to allow the holding ring (26) to be expanded inside the recess (244).
In operation, with further reference to
With such a pad holding device (20) in accordance with the present invention, the structure of the pad holding device (20) is simplified, and the cost for manufacturing a nail gun with a pad holding device (20) is lowered.
