Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an ignition gun, and more particularly to a foldable ignition gun that comes with a foldable design for reducing the storage volume and length and a safety switch for providing a safety effect.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIG. 1, a prior art ignition gun comprises a casing 1, and the casing 1 includes a holding section 10 disposed at an end of the casing 1, and an ignition pipe 11 disposed at another end of the casing 1, and a press button 12 is disposed between the holding section 10 and the ignition pipe 11, and a safety switch 13 is installed at the holding section 10 and adjacent to a side of the press button 4, and the safety switch 13 includes a blocking member 130 disposed in the holding section 10 and extended from the press button 12. The blocking member 130 presses precisely on a latch member 120 of the press button 12 in the casing 1, such that the press button 12 cannot be pressed. If the safety switch 13 is pushed, the blocking member 130 will be separated from the latch member 120, such that the press button 12 can be pressed. Therefore, the latch member 120 and the blocking member 130 can be used to achieve a safe use of the ignition gun.

Referring to FIG. 1, the casing 1 further comprises a gas tank 14, a gas outlet valve 15, a pipe 16, a nozzle 17, and a driving member 18, wherein the gas tank 14 is installed at an appropriate position of the holding section 10 for storing gas, and the gas outlet valve 15 is installed to the gas tank 14 at a position proximate to the press button 12, and an end of the pipe 16 is connected to the gas outlet valve 15 and the other end of the pipe 16 is connected to the nozzle 17 at the other end of the casing 1, and the driving member 18 is installed between the press button 12 and the gas tank 14, and an end of the driving member 18 is latched onto the gas outlet valve 15, and the other end of the driving member. 18 presses on the press button 12. A protruding member 180 disposed between both ends of the driving member 18 presses onto the gas tank 14. If the press button 12 is pressed, the press button 12 pushes another end of the driving member 18 towards the gas tank 14 and an end of the driving member 18 away from the gas tank 14, such that the gas outlet valve 15 is lifted open to allow the gas in the gas tank 14 to flow from the gas outlet valve 15 into the pipe 16 and eject from the nozzle 17.

Referring to FIG. 1, the casing 1 further comprises an electric arc generator 19 installed between the press button 12 and the ignition pipe 11, and the electric arc generator 19 includes a triggering end 190, a first electric wire 192 and a second electric wire 194, wherein the triggering end 190 presses precisely onto a triggering section 122 on the press button 12, and the first electric wire 192 is extended into another end of the casing 1 and connected to the nozzle 17, and the second electric wire 194 passes through an opening 110 proximate to another end of the casing 1 and connects the ignition pipe 11, such that the second electric wire 194 can be electrically connected to a discharging pin disposed at the ignition pipe 11 and proximate to the nozzle 17 to define an electric arc generating circuit. If the press button 12 is pressed, the gas will be ejected from the nozzle 17, and the triggering section 122 will drive the triggering end 190, such that the electric arc generator 19 sends a high-voltage current to the nozzle 17 through the first electric wire 192, and the discharging pin 222 produces an electric arc to ignite the gas discharged from the nozzle 17 and complete the ignition.

However, the ignition gun still has the following shortcomings in its applications. Firstly, the length of the ignition gun is too long, and thus it is inconvenient to carry the ignition gun. Secondly, the press button of the safety switch 13 cannot be pressed to achieve the safety condition, if the safety switch 13 is not returned to its original position, even though the ignition gun comes with the design of a safety switch 13. Therefore, the ignition gun may ignite the gas by accidentally triggering the press button 12, and the press button 12 and the safety switch 13 are accessible easily by children, and thus the ignition gun totally loses its safety function. Further, the temperature of the ignition pipe 11 rises rapidly after the ignition gun continues an ignition for some time, and the user may get burned by the hot ignition pipe 11. Therefore, the prior art ignition gun is inconvenient and dangerous to use, and the foregoing shortcomings demand immediate attentions and improvements, so as to provide a convenient and safe ignition gun for users.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the description above, the inventor of the present invention based on years of experience to conduct extensive researches and experiments to improve the portability and safety of the prior art ignition guns and finally invented a foldable ignition gun in accordance with the present invention.

Therefore, it is a primary objective of the present invention to provide a foldable ignition gun that comprises an ignition gun body and a hiding member, wherein the ignition gun body includes a gas storage tank, an igniting section, and an electric arc generator therein, and the gas storage tank installs a gas outlet valve, and the ignition gun body has a switching section disposed on a side of the switching section. If the switching section is pushed, the gas outlet valve will be opened to discharge the gas in the gas storage tank and trigger the electric arc generator. An electric arc is produced in the igniting section to ignite the gas that flows into the igniting section. The hiding member forms a containing space, and an end of the hiding member is pivotally coupled to an end of the ignition gun body, such that when the hiding member is rotated along its pivotal connecting position, the ignition gun body can be contained into the containing space to shelter the switching section, and thus the switching section cannot pushed anymore, or the ignition gun body is rotated out from the containing space, so that the switching section can be pushed again. Therefore, the switching section can be hidden into the containing space to prevent the switching section from being triggered accidentally and avoid unintentional ignitions. The present invention also can greatly reduce the length and volume of the ignition gun structure.

The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

In the preferred embodiment as shown in FIGS. 3, 4 and 6, a clamping member 246 is installed at an end of the first latch member 242 and facing an end of the second latch member 243, and both free ends of the clamping member 246 separately have a protruding member 248. If the switches 240. 241 are moved adjacent to each other, the second latch member 243 can be accommodated precisely by the inner side of the clamping member 246, and the two protruding members 248 can be accommodated precisely by a latch groove 247 of the second latch member 243 with its back facing an end of the first latch member 242. If the switches 240, 241 are far from each other, the two protruding members 248 will be separated from the two latch grooves 247 and slid into both sides of an end of the second latch member 243 that faces the first latch member 242. The clamping member 246 will be spread open to clamp the second latch member 243, and the two protruding members 248 can be accommodated by a containing groove 261 between both sides of the sliding groove 260, so as to fix the position of the second latch member 243 and drive the driving member 245 to continuously pull the gas outlet valve 21 to discharge the gas, and there is no need for users to keep pushing the switches 240, 241 for the ignition.

In the preferred embodiment as shown in FIGS. 2, 4, and 5, a pivotal connecting section 27 is disposed at the pivotal connecting position of the ignition gun body 2 and the hiding member 3, and the pivotal connecting section 27 includes two first pivotal connecting holes 271, two second pivotal connecting holes 272, and two pivotal connecting axles 273, wherein the two first pivotal connecting holes 271 are disposed on two corresponding sides of an end proximate to the hiding member 3, and the two second pivotal connecting holes 272 are disposed on two corresponding sides of an end proximate to the ignition gun body 2, and the two first pivotal connecting holes 271 precisely face the two second pivotal connecting holes 272, and the two pivotal connecting axles 273 separately include the pivotal connecting holes 271, 272 disposed on a side of the hiding member 3. Therefore, the ignition gun body 2 can be rotated by using the two pivotal connecting axles 273 as the axle centers.

In the preferred embodiment as shown in FIGS. 2, 4, and 5, the pivotal connecting axle 273 includes a turning disc 274 and a plurality of hooks 275, wherein the turning disc 274 is installed at an end of the pivotal connecting axle 273 facing the hiding member 3, and the turning disc 274 can be contained in a groove 276 around the periphery of the pivotal connecting hole 271 of the hiding member 3 and rotated in the groove 276, and the hooks 275 are installed at another end of the pivotal connecting axle 273 and press against a hook groove 277, and the hook groove 277 is disposed around the connecting position of the internal side of the ignition gun body 2 and the second pivotal connecting holes 272 to prevent the two pivotal connecting axles 273 falling out from the two pivotal connecting holes 271.

By the resilience of the resilient member 42, another end of the resilient member 42 is pressed onto the slot 400, and one end of the resilient member 42 pushes the head section 410 out from the penetrating hole 278 and drives another end of the fixing member 43 to be extended from the opening 31, so that the ignition gun body 2 and the hiding member 3 cannot be rotated. An end of the fixing member 43 presses onto another end of the bushing 40 to prevent the press button 41 falling out from the penetrating hole 278. If the ignition gun body 2 is contained in the containing space 30, the ignition gun body 2 will be securely contained in the containing space 30, so that the switching section 24 is sheltered by the hiding member 3 to achieve the safety effect. If the ignition gun is placed in a pocket, the igniting section 22 is protected from being pressed by other objects in the pocket, and thus preventing the discharging pin 222 or the nozzle 221 from being damaged which will result a failure of the ignition gun.

If the press button 41 is pressed, another end of the fixing member 43 will be separated from the opening 31 and moved into the notch 28, and the ignition gun body 2 and the hiding member 3 will be rotated freely. If the press button 41 is not pressed, the free end of the supporting leg 430 will press against the turning disc 274 at the side facing the ignition gun body 2. If the press button 41 is pressed, the free end of the supporting leg will be separated from the turning disc 274, and a locking device 44 is installed at an end of the fixing member 43 with its back facing the side of the press button 41 The locking device 44 is screwed into another end of the press button 41 through the fixing member 43, such that the press button 41 and the fixing member 43 are locked with each other and will not be loosened.

In summation of the description above, the design of the structure and shape of the foldable ignition gun of the invention can achieve the following objects and effects:

1. In the foldable ignition gun of the invention, the ignition gun body 2 is rotated into the containing space 30 to hide the switching section 24, so that children do not know the existence of the switching section 24 and thus effectively preventing children from playing with ignition gun and avoiding the danger of igniting gas accidentally.

2. Since the ignition gun body 2 can be rotated into the containing space 30, therefore the volume and length of the foldable ignition gun can be reduced for carrying the ignition gun easily and saving spaces.

3. When the ignition gun is used, the ignition gun body 2 can be rotated out of the containing space 30, so that users can hold the hiding member 3 to extend the distance between the igniting section 22 and the hiding member 3, and thus effectively preventing the user's hand from being burned by the hot igniting section 22.

4. With the fixing section 4, the present invention not only prevents the ignition gun body 2 from being rotated out of the containing space 30 to achieve the safety and protection effects, but also fixes the ignition gun hiding member 3 and the ignition gun body 2 at different angles, so that users can ignite a fire at different angles according to actual needs.

5. If the second switch 241 is pushed and fixed at a position for turning on the gas outlet valve 21, the gas will be discharged continuously to achieve the igniting function, and thus users do not have to keep pushing the second switch 241 which makes the use of the ignition gun more convenient.

6. Since the ignition gun body 2 can be rotated into the containing space 30, therefore the invention can prevent the ignition pin of the ignition gun placed in a pocket from being pressed or deformed by keys or other objects in the pocket. If the ignition pin is damaged, the electric arc cannot be produced in the igniting section 22, or the gas cannot be ignited.

While the invention herein disclosed has been described by means of specific embodiments, numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention set forth in the claims.
