Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a chair seat structure, more particularly one, which allows an upper metallic covering sheet for a main body thereof to be removed and replaced.

2. Brief Description of the Prior Art

People's demand for high quality products is increasing with heightening of living standard. For instance, besides being comfortable, chairs have to look unique and novel to attract consumers.

A common metallic seat of a metallic chair seat includes a plastic main body, and upper and lower metallic covering sheets, which are joined together to cover upper and lower sides of the main body. The plastic main body has several screw holes, and a sleeve part extending from a lower side thereof while the lower covering sheet has a fitting hole, and several through holes. The sleeve part of the main body is passed through the fitting hole of the lower covering sheet, and screws are passed through the through holes and the screw holes to securely join the lower covering sheet to the main body. Further, the upper metallic covering sheet is curled at a lower circumferential portion so as to cover an edge of a lower side of the main body. A chair leg is passed around the sleeve part of the main body at an upper end thereof; thus, the seat is joined to the chair leg. It takes relatively much time and labor to assemble the chair seat because screws are used to fix the lower covering sheet to the main body. And, the seat can't be rapidly dismantled for replacement and repair of its parts.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is a main object of the invention to provide an improvement on a chair seat to overcome the above-mentioned problems. The chair seat of the present invention includes an upper metallic covering sheet, a lower covering sheet, and a main body. The main body is held in the upper covering sheet, and the upper covering sheet is pressed at a lower circumferential portion thereof to form a compressed step-shaped section, which closely touches and grips the main body. The lower covering sheet has a holding portion, in which the compressed step-shaped section of the upper covering sheet is tightly fitted; thus, the main body is wrapped, and the upper covering sheet is separable from the lower covering sheet for replacement.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The present invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:

FIG. 1 is a sectional view of the chair seat of the present invention,

FIG. 2 is an enlarged sectional view of the present invention,

FIG. 3 is a partial sectional view of the present invention under assembly (1),

FIG. 4 is a partial sectional view of the present invention under assembly (2), and

FIG. 5 is a partial sectional view of the present invention under assembly (3).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 5, a preferred embodiment of a seat 1 of a chair in the present invention includes an upper metallic covering sheet 11, a lower covering sheet 12, and a plastic main body 13. The seat 1 is joined to a chair leg 2 at a lower side thereof.

The upper metallic covering sheet 11 is substantially in the shape of a bivalve shell valve, which is sealed at one side and has an opening at the other side. Further, the upper metallic covering sheet 11 includes a hollow portion 111.

The main body 13 is held in the hollow portion 111 of the upper metallic covering sheet 11, and the upper metallic covering sheet 11 is pressed at a lower circumferential portion thereof to form a compressed step-shaped section 112, and the upper metallic covering sheet 11 is curled at a lower end to form an edge sealing section 113.

The lower covering sheet 12 can be made of metal. Or alternatively, the lower covering sheet 12 can be made of plastic. The lower covering plate 12 is substantially in the shape of a bivalve shell valve, which is sealed at one side and has an opening at the other side. Further, the lower covering sheet 12 includes a holding portion 121 for the step-shaped section 112 of the upper metallic covering sheet 11 to fit in.

In assembly, first the main body 13 is fitted in the hollow portion 111 of the upper metallic covering sheet 11, and the upper metallic covering sheet 11 is pressed at a lower circumferential portion thereof to form a compressed step-shaped section 112 such that the compressed step-shaped section 112 closely touches and compresses the main body 13; thus, the upper metallic covering sheet 11 and the main body 13 are joined together. Next, the upper metallic covering sheet 11 is curled at a lower end to form an edge sealing section 113, which seals and closely touches an edge of the main body 13 such that the main body 13 is secured in the upper metallic covering sheet 11. And next, the upper metallic covering sheet 11 containing the main body 13 is fitted into the holding portion 121 of the lower covering sheet 12 at the step-shaped section 111 thereof such that the step-shaped section 111 is tightly pressed against an inner side of the holding portion 121, and the upper metallic covering sheet 11 and the lower covering sheet 12 are securely joined together to wrap the main body 13 therein. Finally, the chair leg 2 is joined to a lower side of the lower covering sheet 12.

When people want to change the upper metallic covering sheet 11, they are allowed to separate the lower covering sheet 12 from the upper metallic covering sheet 11 containing the main body 13, and next join another upper metallic covering plate, which contains a main body, to the lower covering sheet 12; the new upper metallic covering plate can be different colors from the lower covering sheet 12 so that the seat 1 is attractive and looks unique.

From the above description, it can be easily seen that the chair seat of the present invention has the following advantages:

1. The upper metallic covering sheet is only fitted in the holding portion of the lower covering sheet at the step-shaped section therefore the upper covering sheet can be easily separated from the lower one, and the chair seat is relatively easy to assemble.

2. The upper covering sheet can be easily separated from the lower one therefore people are allowed to change from the original upper metallic covering sheet to another one, which can be different colors from the original one and the lower covering sheet for making the seat more attractive and unique.
