Earring, system and method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation

An apparatus, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation are provided. A first end and a second end are connected to a first ornamentation and/or a second ornamentation which may be, for example, a jewel. Indentations are formed in the first end and the second end to receive rings which may surround the first end and the second end. The rings may glow in the absence of light. The first end may have an opening for receiving a rod. The second end may be removably connected to the rod. The opening in the first end may be sized to receive the rod to secure the first end to the second end.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation. More specifically, the present invention relates to an earring having a first end and a second end which house and/or secure a first ornamentation and/or a second ornamentation.

It is, of course, generally known to secure earrings to ears or other body parts, such as, for example, lips, noses, tongues and/or the like. Generally, earrings have a rod with a length between opposing ends. A basket is attached one end of the rod. Typically, the basket secures a gem, for example, a diamond, a ruby, a pearl, a stone and/or the like. The second end of the rod is removably attached to a backing. The backing may be a clip, such as, a metal clip. The backing is sized to prevent the rod from falling and/or detaching from an ear.

In use, the rod having the basket is inserted into a hole in the ear. The second end of the rod secures the rod in the ear by screwing and/or pushing the backing on to the second end of the rod.

However, known earrings only houses gems on one end. The opposite end of known earrings have a metal clip to secure the earring. Accordingly, earrings only display one gem at one end of the rod. As a result, earrings lose aesthetic quality when the earrings are viewed from the end of the earring having the metal clip.

Generally users wear earrings as an accessory to, for example, a clothing outfit. However, earrings have gems or precious stones which are not interchangeable or removable from the basket. The color of the earrings may clash and/or may mismatch with an outfit. As a result, the user may be limited to wearing a set of earrings with a limited number of outfits.

Furthermore, the components of the earring, such as, the rod, the basket and/or the gem require light to be viewed. Typically, light contacting the gem causes the gem and/or other components of the earring to shine, sparkle and/or the like. Therefore, earrings worn in dark places are not visible. Furthermore, the metal clip securing the earrings frequently slips and/or separates from the rod. If earrings fall to the ground at a dark location, the earrings are difficult to locate and recover.

A need, therefore, exists for an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation. Additionally, a need exists for an earring and a system having a first end and a second end which secure together. Further, a need exists for an earring and a system which secure a first ornamentation to a first end and a second ornamentation to a second end. Still further, a need exists for an earring and a system having a band or a ring removably connected to a first end and/or a second end. Moreover, a need exists for an earring and a system which may have a band that glows in the dark. Furthermore, a need exists for an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation which may have a depression for removably attaching a colored band or colored ring. In addition, a need exists for an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation wherein the first ornamentation is different from the second ornamentation. Further, a need exists for an earring, a system and a method for securing the earring which may have a rod with threads or a crevice to secure a first end to a second end of the earring.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation. More specifically, the earring, the system and the method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation may have a rod having a length between a top end and a bottom end. A first end may be connected to and/or removably secured to the top end of the rod. A second end may be connected to and/or removably secured to the bottom end of the rod. The first end and/or the second end may be connected to and/or secured to an ornament. A depression may be formed in the first end and/or the second end. A band may be connected and/or may be removably secured to the first end and/or the second end. The rod may secure to the second end and/or the first end via threads or a crevice.

To this end, in an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for an earring is provided. The earring has a first end having peripheral walls and a first diameter wherein the first end has a length defined between a distal end and a proximal end. Further, the earring has a second end having peripheral walls and a second diameter wherein the second end has a length defined between a front end and a back end wherein the second end is removably attached such that the second end is securable to the first end and is separable from the first end and further wherein the proximal end of the first end is adjacent to the back end of the second end. Still further, the earring has a first ornamentation connected to the first end wherein the first ornamentation is adjacent to the distal end of the first end wherein the first ornamentation is or resembles a jewel. Moreover, the earring has a second ornamentation connected to the second end wherein the second ornamentation is adjacent to the front end of the second end.

In an embodiment, the earring has an indentation in the first end wherein the indentation has a diameter less than the first diameter.

In an embodiment, the earring has an opening extending into the first end wherein the rod inserts into the opening to secure the first end to the second end.

In an embodiment, the earring has a ring removably secured to the first end wherein the ring has a wall defining an interior and an exterior wherein the wall extends from an inner diameter to an outer diameter.

In an embodiment, the second ornamentation is a jewel.

In an embodiment, the earring has threads in the rod for securing the first end to the second end.

In another embodiment of the present invention, a system is provided. The system has a first end having peripheral walls extending between a proximate end and a distal end. Further, the system has a second end having peripheral walls extending between a top end and a bottom end wherein the second end is removably connected to the first end wherein the bottom end of the second end is adjacent to the proximal end of the first end. Still further, the system has a first ornamentation connected to the first end wherein the ornamentation is adjacent to the distal end of the first end. Moreover, the system has a first ring extending from an inner diameter to an outer diameter wherein the first ring is removably connected to the second end wherein the second end is insertable into the first ring wherein the first ring is located between the top end and the bottom end of the second end.

In an embodiment, the system has means for removably securing the first end to the second end.

In an embodiment, the system has means for connecting the first end to the second end.

In an embodiment, the system has a depression in the first end wherein the depression is sized to receive the first ring.

In an embodiment, the system has a depression in the second end wherein the depression is sized to receive the first ring.

In an embodiment, the system has a second ornamentation connected to the second end.

In an embodiment, the system has a second ring connected to the first end of the rod wherein the second ring extends from an inner diameter to an outer diameter.

In another embodiment of the present invention, a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation is provided. The method has the step of providing a rod wherein the rod has a length defined between a first end and a second end wherein the second end of the rod has an indentation. Further, the method has the step of attaching the first ornamentation to the rod wherein the first ornamentation extends outward with respect to the first end of the rod. Still further, the method has the step of inserting the second end of the rod into a first ring wherein the first ring is located in the indentation of the rod. Moreover, the method has the step of connecting the second ornamentation to the rod wherein the second ornamentation is located adjacent to the second end of the rod wherein the first ring is located between the first ornamentation and the second ornamentation.

In an embodiment, the method has the step of inserting the first end of the rod into a second ring wherein the second ring encircles the first end.

In an embodiment, the method has the step of forming an indentation in the first end of the rod.

In an embodiment, the first ornamentation is a gem.

In an embodiment, the method has the step of the first ornamentation has a different color than the first ornamentation.

In an embodiment, the first ring illuminates.

It is, therefore, an advantage of the present invention to provide an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation which may have a first end to a second end.

Another advantage of the present invention is to provide an earring, a system and method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation which may have a depression for removably attaching a band to a first end and/or a second end of the earring.

And, another advantage of the present invention is to provide an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation which may have a band that may glow in the dark.

Yet another advantage of the present invention is to provide an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation which may have a band that may be colored.

A further advantage of the present invention is to provide an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation which may have a crevice or threads for securing a rod to a first end and/or a second end.

Moreover, an advantage of the present invention is to provide an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation which may have the first ornamentation secured to a first end and the second ornamentation secured to the second end.

And, another advantage of the present invention is to provide an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation which may have a first band that may be interchangeable with a second band wherein the second band is a different color than the first band.

Yet another advantage of the present invention is to provide an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation wherein the first ornamentation is different from the second ornamentation.

Additional features and advantages of the present invention are described in, and will be apparent from, the detailed description of the presently preferred embodiments and from the drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The present invention relates to an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation. More specifically, the present invention relates to an earring, a system and a method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation with a rod having a length between a distal end and a proximate end. A first end and/or a second end may be secured and/or may be removably attached to the distal end and/or the proximate end via threads and/or a crevice. An ornamentation may be secured to and/or attached to the first end and/or the second end. The first end and/or the second end may have an exterior surface. Depressions may extend from the exterior surface toward the interior of the first end and/or the second end. Bands may removably attach and/or connect to the depressions.

Referring now to the drawings wherein like numerals refer to like parts, FIG. 1 illustrates a side plan view of a first end 5 and a second end 7 in an embodiment of the present invention. The first end 5 may have a length L1 between a distal end 9 and a proximate end 11. The second end 7 may have a length L2 between a front end 13 and a back end 15. The first length L1 may be equal in length to the second length L2. The first end may have a diameter D1, and the second end 7 may have a diameter D2. The second diameter D2 may be equal to the first diameter D1.

The first end 5 and/or the second end 7 may be constructed from metal, such as, for example, gold, silver, platinum and/or the like. The ends 5, 7 may be made from a magnetic material, such as, for example, a metal alloy. For example, the first end 5 may be polarized with a positive charge, and the second end 7 may be polarized with a negative charge. In such an embodiment, the first end 5 and the second end 7 may connect and/or may removably attach via magnetic attraction. Alternatively, the first end 5 and/or the second end 7 may be made from a non-metallic material, such as, for example, plastic, glass, ceramic and/or the like. The first end 5 and/or the second end 7 may be solid throughout the diameters D1, D2.

A first ornamentation 17 and a second ornamentation 19 may be secured to the first end 5 and/or the second end 7. The first ornamentation 17 may be secured to and/or may be attached to the distal end 9 of the first end 5. The second ornamentation 19 may be secured to and/or may be attached to the front end 13 of the second end 7. The ornamentations 17, 19 may be gems, precious stones and/or the like. The ornamentations may be jewels, such as, for example, diamonds, gems, rubies and/or the like. Alternatively, the ornamentations 17, 19 may be, for example, pearls, glass, cubic zirconiums and/or the like. In an embodiment, the ornamentations 17, 19 may be made from a material, such as, for example, plastics, glass, gels, waxes, metal and/or the like which may resemble jewels. The ornamentations 17, 19 may be transparent and/or translucent. The ornamentations 17, 19 may be colored, such as, for example, red, blue, yellow, green and/or the like. The present invention should not be deemed as limited to specific embodiments of the ornamentations 17, 19.

A rod 21 may connect, may secure and/or may removably attach the first end 5 to the second end 7. The rod 21 may have a length L3 between a top end 23 and a bottom end 25. The length L3 may be greater in length than the length L1 and/or the length L2. The rod 21 may extend into the first end 5 and/or the second end 7. The rod 21 may be a metal, such as, for example, gold, steel, silver, bronze, copper and/or the like. The rod 21 may be ceramic, plastic, glass and/or the like.

A band 27 may be connected to, may be secured to and/or may be removably attached to the first end 5 and/or the second end 7. The band 27 may be shaped to encircle the ends 5, 7. In an embodiment, the band 27 may be shaped similar to a ring. For example, the ring may be circular with a hollow center. The band 27 may be made from, for example, rubber, plastic, metal, glass and/or the like. The band 27 may have a diameter D3 which may be greater than the diameter D1 and/or the diameter D2 of the ends 5, 7.

The band 27 may have an elastic characteristic to stretch, to slide and/or to snap onto the ends 5, 7. The band 27 may glow, shine and/or sparkle in an absence of light. The band 27 may be colored, such as, for example, blue, green, red, yellow and/or the like. The band 27 may be positioned and/or located in a recession 30 of the first end 5 and/or the second end 7, as illustrated in FIG. 3. However, the band 27 may be removable from the first end 5 and/or the second end 7. For example, the band 27 may slide, may be pushed and/or may be pulled from the first end 5 and/or the second end 7.

FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 illustrate side views of an end 30 in embodiments of the present invention. A recession 30 may extend from an exterior surface 37 toward a center plane 39 of the end 30. The recession 33 may have a diameter D4 which may be less than the diameter D1 and/or the diameter D2, as illustrated in FIG. 1. The recession 33 may be, for example, an indentation, a depression, a crevice, a channel and/or the like. The recession 33 may have a width W between a first wall 39 and a second wall 41. The recession 33 may be shaped to receive and/or to secure the band 27. For example, the band 27 may abut the walls 39, 41 to be prevented from sliding and/or moving toward the front end 13 and/or the back end 15 of the end 50.

As illustrated in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, a rod 50 may be secured to and/or removably attached to the end 30. Threads 51 may be connected to and/or integrally formed with the rod 50, as shown in FIG. 2. The threads 51 may be, for example, screw threads which may secure and/or may removably attach the rod 50 to the ends 5, 7.

FIG. 3 illustrates the rod 50 having an insert 52 which may be inserted and/or may be secured to the end 30 and/or the ends 5, 7. The insert 52 may be sized to insert into a hole of a body part of a user (not shown), such as, for example, an ear, a belly button, a nose, a lip and/or the like. For example, the insert 52 may be positioned and/or pushed through the hole of the user and secured to the end 5. The insert 52 have a diameter D5 which may be smaller than a diameter D6 of the rod 50. The insert 52 may be, for example, a shaft having a small diameter than the rod 50 for inserting into the ends 5, 7. The rod 50 may be cut and/or may be sized to a smaller diameter to form the insert 52. The wall 55 of the rod 50 may prevent and/or may stop the rod 50 from inserting further into the ends 5, 7. The wall 55 may contact the body part of the user and/or the ends 5, 7 to indicate that the insert 52 is completely inserted into the ends 5, 7 and/or the body part of the user.

FIG. 4 illustrates a top plan view of the back end 15 and/or the proximate end 11. An opening 60 may extend into the first end 5, the second end 7 and/or the end 50. The insert 52 and/or the threads 51 may secure and/or removably attach to the end 50 via the opening 60. The threads 51 and/or the insert 52 may be pushed, screwed and/or positioned in the opening 60. The opening 60 may be a hole, a channel, a crevice and/or the like. The opening 60 may have a diameter D7 which may be equal to the diameter D5. The diameter D7 may be less than the diameter D6 to prevent the rod 50 from inserting into the opening 60.

The ring 27 may surround and/or may encircle the back end 15 and/or the proximate end 11. The ring 27 may have a diameter D8 which may be equal in length to the width W of the indentation 33. Alternatively, the diameter D8 may be greater than the width W so the ring 27 extends beyond the exterior surface 37 of the end 30.

FIG. 5 illustrates a cross-sectional view of a second end 7 in an embodiment of the present invention. The second end 7 may have a peripheral wall 91. An ornamentation 19 may be attached and/or secured to the second end 7. A band 95 may be connected to and/or removably attached to the second end 7. The band 95 may abut the peripheral wall 91.

An opening 60 may extend into the second end 7. The opening 60 may abut the peripheral wall 91. The opening 60 may have threads 97 which may secure and/or may removable attach to the threads 51. The insert 52 may be secured to and/or removably attached to the opening 60.

In use, the first end 5 having the rod 50 may be inserted and/or positioned into an opening in an ear, a nose, a tongue and/or the like. The second end 7 may be secured to and/or removably attached to the rod 50. The first end 5 and the second end 7 may be secured to the ear, the nose, the tongue and/or the like. The first ornamentation 17 and the second ornamentation 19 may be positioned and/or located on a front side and/or a back side of, for example, an ear.

The first end 5 may be connected and/or may be removably attached to the second end 7 via the rod 50. The recession 33 may be integrally formed with and/or secured to the first end 5 and/or the second end 7. The recession 33 may house and/or may secure the band 27 to the first end 5 and/or the second end 7. The first ornamentation 17 and/or the ornamentation 19 may be secured to and/or connected to the first end 5 and/or the second end 7. The rod 50 may screw and/or may push into the first end 5 and/or the second end 7.

It should be understood that various changes and modifications to the presently preferred embodiments described herein will be apparent to those skilled in the art. Such changes and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention and without diminishing its attendant advantages. It is, therefore, intended that such changes and modifications be covered by the appended claims.

Claims

1. An earring comprising:

a first end having peripheral walls and a first diameter wherein the first end has a length defined between a distal end and a proximal end;
a second end having peripheral walls and a second diameter wherein the second end has a length defined between a front end and a back end wherein the second end is removably attached such that the second end is securable to the first end and is separable from the first end and further wherein the proximal end of the first end is adjacent to the back end of the second end;
a first ornamentation connected to the first end wherein the first ornamentation is adjacent to the distal end of the first end wherein the first ornamentation is or resembles a jewel; and
a second ornamentation connected to the second end wherein the second ornamentation is adjacent to the front end of the second end.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

an indentation in the first end wherein the indentation has a diameter less than the first diameter.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

an opening extending into the first end wherein the rod inserts into the opening to secure the first end to the second end.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

a ring removably secured to the first end wherein the ring has a wall defining an interior and an exterior wherein the wall extends from an inner diameter to an outer diameter.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the second ornamentation is a jewel.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:

threads in the rod for securing the first end to the second end.

7. A system comprising:

a first end having peripheral walls extending between a proximate end and a distal end;
a second end having peripheral walls extending between a top end and a bottom end wherein the second end is removably connected to the first end wherein the bottom end of the second end is adjacent to the proximal end of the first end;
a first ornamentation connected to the first end wherein the ornamentation is adjacent to the distal end of the first end; and
a first ring extending from an inner diameter to an outer diameter wherein the first ring is removably connected to the second end wherein the second end is insertable into the first ring wherein the first ring is located between the top end and the bottom end of the second end.

8. The system of claim 7 further comprising:

means for removably securing the first end to the second end.

9. The system of claim 7 further comprising:

means for connecting the first end to the second end.

10. The system of claim 7 further comprising:

a depression in the first end wherein the depression is sized to receive the first ring.

11. The system of claim 7 further comprising:

a depression in the second end wherein the depression is sized to receive the first ring.

13. The system of claim 7 further comprising:

a second ornamentation connected to the second end.

14. The system of claim 7 further comprising:

a second ring connected to the first end of the rod wherein the second ring extends from an inner diameter to an outer diameter.

15. A method for connecting a first ornamentation to a second ornamentation, the method comprising the steps of:

providing a rod wherein the rod has a length defined between a first end and a second end wherein the second end of the rod has an indentation;
attaching the first ornamentation to the rod wherein the first ornamentation extends outward with respect to the first end of the rod;
inserting the second end of the rod into a first ring wherein the first ring is located in the indentation of the rod; and
connecting the second ornamentation to the rod wherein the second ornamentation is located adjacent to the second end of the rod wherein the first ring is located between the first ornamentation and the second ornamentation.

16. The method of claim 15 further comprising the step of:

inserting the first end of the rod into a second ring wherein the second ring encircles the first end.

17. The method of claim 15 further comprising:

forming an indentation in the first end of the rod.

18. The method of claim 15 wherein the first ornamentation is a gem.

19. The method of claim 15 wherein the first ornamentation has a different color than the first ornamentation.

20. The method of claim 15 wherein the first ring illuminates.
