Foldable basket

Abstract

A foldable basket includes a bottom board, two sideboards, a front board and a rear board. The bottom board has pivotal members in two opposite sides, a front low wall and a rear low wall. The front and the rear low wall respectively have plural slots and fitting grooves. Two sideboards are respectively connected pivotally with two sides of the bottom base with pivotal members and projections at two sides respectively. The front board and the rear board are connected pivotally to the bottom board with fitting rods fitting with fitting grooves of the bottom board. The two sideboards are foldably connected with the front and the rear board. So the basket is easily unfolded for use or folded for storing by folding or unfolding the two sideboards, the front and the rear board on or from the bottom board.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates to a foldable basket, particularly to one that is provided with a bottom board, two sideboards, a front board and a rear board. The bottom board has plural pivotal members in two opposite sides respectively, a front low wall on the front edge and a rear low wall on the rear edge being higher than the front low wall. The front low wall and the rear wall respectively have plural slots spaced apart and fitting grooves spaced apart. Each sideboard connected pivotally with one of the two sides of the bottom base possesses plural pivotal members and plural projections at two opposite sides respectively. The front board and the rear board are connected pivotally with the front low wall and the rear wall of the bottom board by means of plural fitting rods spaced apart for fitting with the fitting grooves of the bottom board, and also connected with the two sideboards by means of plural curved rails, which have their upper ends fitting with projections of the two sideboards. Such a foldable basket can be easily and quickly folded for storing up and unfolded for using.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Commonly, a conventional basket is integrally formed as a rectangular body with a holding hole cut at two opposite sides respectively, used for containing articles or goods, convenient for storing up or transporting. But, a conventional basket is always shaped not collapsible, occupying a great space for storing up while not used. This invention has been devised to overcome the defect of the conventional basket mentioned above.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The objective of this invention is to offer a foldable basket that can be easily and quickly collapsed for storing up and unfolded for using.

The main characteristics of the invention are a bottom board, two sideboards, a front board and a rear board. The bottom board is provided with plural pivotal members spaced apart at two opposite sides respectively that are respectively provided with a pivot hole, a front low wall standing on the front edge and a rear low wall standing on the rear edge, with the rear low wall being higher than the front low wall. The front low wall and the rear low wall respectively have plural slots spaced apart and fitting grooves spaced apart in the inside edge. Each sideboard connected pivotally with one of the two sides of the bottom board is provided with plural pivotal members that are respectively provided with a pivotal hole facing exactly with the pivotal members of the bottom board for a pivotal bar to insert therein, and plural projections at two sides respectively. The front board connected pivotally with the front low wall is provided with plural fitting rods spaced apart for fitting with the fitting grooves of the bottom board, and plural curved rails having their lower ends fitting in the slots of the bottom board and their upper ends fitting with projections of the two sideboards. The rear board connected pivotally with the rear low wall is provided with plural fitting rods spaced apart for fitting with the fitting grooves of the bottom board, and plural curved rails having their upper ends fitting with projections of the two sideboards, Then the two sideboards, the front and the rear board are able to be folded on the bottom board when the basket is not to be used, taking less space for storing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a preferred embodiment of a foldable basket in the present invention includes a bottom board 1, two sideboards, a front board and a rear board and plural pivotal bars 5.

The bottom base 1 is provided with plural pivotal members 10 at two opposite sides respectively, a front low wall 11 projecting up on the front edge, and a rear low wall 12 projecting up on the rear edge and being higher than the front low wall 11. Each of the pivotal members 10 is pierced with a pivotal hole 100. The front low wall 11 is provided with plural slots 110 spaced apart, plural fitting grooves 111 in the inside edge and an bar hole 112 in two ends respectively. Similarly, the rear low wall 12 is also provided with plural slots 120 spaced apart, plural fitting grooves 121 in the inside edge and an bar hole 122 in two ends respectively.

Each sideboard 2 connected pivotally with one of the two sides of the bottom board 1 is provided with plural pivotal members 20 spaced apart in a lower edge and plural projections 21 in two side edges and a holding hole 22 in a central upper portion. The pivotal members 20 to be fitted correspondingly in each aperture between every two pivotal members 10 of the bottom board 1 are respectively provided with a pivot hole 200 aligned exactly with the pivot holes 100 of the pivotal members 10 of the bottom board 1 for a pivotal bar 5 to insert therein.

The front board 3 connected pivotally with the front low wall 11 of the bottom board 1 is provided with plural fitting rods 30 spaced apart at the bottom and fitting with the fitting grooves 111 of the bottom board 1, plural curved rails 31 extending properly upward out of the bottom edge, with the bottom end of the curved rails 31 matching with the slots 110 of the front low wall 11 of the bottom board 1, and a holding hole 32 bored near a central upper edge. Two outermost fitting rods 30 are respectively provided with a bar hole 300 facing exactly with the bar holes 112 of the front low wall 11 of the bottom base 1 for the pivotal bars 5 to insert therein.

The rear board 4 connected pivotally with the rear lower wall 12 of the bottom board 1 is provided with plural fitting rods 40 spaced apart at the bottom for fitting with the fitting slots 121, plural curved rails 41 extended properly out of the bottom edge of the rear board 4, with the lower end pf the curved rails 41 matching with the slots 120 of the rear low wall 12 of the bottom board 1, and a holding hole 42 bored near a central upper edge. Two outermost fitting rods 40 are respectively provided with a bar hole 400 facing exactly with the bar hole 122 of the rear low wall 12 of the bottom base 1 for the pivotal bar 5 to insert therein

In assembling, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the two sideboards 2 are pivotally assembled at two opposite sides of the bottom board 1 first. That is, put the pivotal members 20 of the two sideboards 2 in the apertures between every two pivotal members 10 of the bottom board 1 and align the pivot holes 200 of the pivotal members 20 exactly with the pivot holes 100 of the bottom base 1, so that the pivotal bars 5 can be inserted through the pivot holes 100 and 200. Next, put the front board 3 on the front low wall 11 of the bottom board 1 and then, match the fitting rods 30 with the fitting grooves 111 of the bottom base 1 so as to align the bar holes 300 of the two outermost fitting rods 30 of the front board 3 exactly with the bar holes 112 at two ends of the front low wall 11 of the bottom board 1, enabling the pivotal bar 5 to insert in the bar holes 112 and 300, and finally let the projections 21 of the sideboards 2 fitted in the ends of the rails 31 of the front board 3. Further, put the rear board 4 on the rear low wall 12 of the bottom board 1 and then, match the fitting rods 40 with the fitting grooves 121 of the bottom base 1 so as to align the bar holes 400 of the two outermost fitting rods 40 of the rear board 4 exactly with the bar holes 122 in two ends of the rear low wall 12 of the bottom board 1, enabling the pivotal bar 5 pivotally inserted in the bar holes 122, 400, and finally let the projections 21 of the sideboards 2 inserted in the ends of the rails 41 of the rear board 4, finishing assemblage of the foldable basket.

In using, as shown in FIGS. 2-5, a foldable basket in the present invention can receive and store goods or articles in the hollow space. When the basket is to be stored up, the sideboards 2 connected pivotally with the bottom board 1 can be folded forwards down on the bottom board 1 first. By the time, the projections 21 of the sideboards 2 are to slide along the rails 31 and 41 of the front and the rear boards 3 and 4 to lie on the bottom board 1. Next, fold the front board 3 to lie on the sideboards 2 and then, fold the rear board 4 to lie on the front board 3. Therefore, the two sideboards 2 and the front and the rear boards 3 and 4 are all folded on the bottom board 1, saving much of a storing space.

While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A foldable basket comprising:

a bottom board provided with plural pivotal members at two opposite side edges respectively, a front low wall on a front edge and a rear low wall on a rear edge, said rear low wall being higher than said front low wall, each said pivotal member provided with a pivot hole, said front low wall provided with plural slots spaced apart and plural fitting grooves spaced apart in an inside edge, said rear low wall provided also with plural slots spaced apart and plural fitting grooves spaced apart in an inside edge;

two sideboards respectively connected pivotally with two opposite sides of said bottom board and provided with plural pivotal members spaced apart in the bottom and plural projections spaced apart on two opposite side edges respectively, each said pivotal members provided with a pivot hole facing exactly with said pivot holes of said pivotal members of said bottom board for a pivotal bar to insert therein;

a front board connected pivotally with said front low wall of said bottom board and provided with plural fittings rods spaced apart at the bottom for fitting with said fitting grooves of said bottom base and plural curved rails extending properly upward out of the bottom edge for fitting with said slots of said front low wall of said bottom base;

a rear board connected pivotally with said rear low wall of said bottom base and provided with plural fitting rods spaced apart in the bottom for fitting with said fitting grooves of said bottom base and plural curved rails extending properly upward out of the bottom edge for inserting with said slots of said rear low wall of said bottom base; and

said basket used to contain articles in a hollow space and to be folded up by folding orderly said side boards, said front board and said rear board down on said bottom board to reduce its bulk when not used, saving a storing space.

2. A foldable basket as claimed in claim 1, wherein two ends of said front low wall and said rear low wall are respectively provided with a bar hole.

3. A foldable basket as claimed in claim 1, wherein said pivotal members of said sideboards are fitted correspondingly in apertures between every two of said pivotal members of said bottom board, and said sideboards are provided with a holding hole respectively.

A foldable basket as claimed in claim 1, wherein said two outermost fitting rods positioned at two ends of said front board are provided with a bar hole respectively for a pivot bolt to insert therein and connect pivotally said front board with said bottom base, and said front board is provided with a holding hole.

A foldable basket as claimed in claim 1, wherein said fitting rods positioned at two ends of said rear board are provided with a bar hole respectively for a pivotal bar to insert therein and connect said rear board pivotally with said bottom base, and said rear board is provided with a holding hole.
