Golf club organizer

Abstract

A golf club organizer comprising a first part and a second part, the first part being a one-piece clip capable of sliding over and grasping a golf bag crossbar or golf bag rim. The second part being a one-piece head cover capable of joining with the first part, one-piece clip to function as a single unit to serve the purposes of securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf clubs when placed in a golf bag and protecting the head of the club from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored and used in a round of golf. The attachment of the first part, one-piece clip and the second part one-piece head cover allow the golfer the discretion of the spacing and placing of each golf club within the golf bag thereby preventing the golf clubs from colliding with each other and maximizing the use of the space within the golf bag.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The field of the invention relates to golf accessories, in particular, the present invention is a Golf Club Organizer. The Golf Club Organizer comprise two parts. The first part is a one-piece clip. The second part is a one-piece head cover. The first part, the one-piece clip and the second part, the one-piece head cover of the Golf Club Organizer join together to function as a single unit. The purpose being to separate and secure each golf club in an orderly organized manner. This will also protect the head of the golf club from damage while playing a round of golf, transporting or storing the golf clubs.

2. Prior Art

Weinmeier, U.S. Pat. No. 6,244,438, provide a universal golf club securer and organizer with two singular support bars upon which are attached numerous individual resilient clips for securing the head of a single golf club. Each golf club head securer is made of a strong yet resilient material which both holds the golf club firmly in place and allow easy insertion and extraction of a golf club head. Further, the golf club head securer is molded to fit any iron head golf club. The minor variation between a set of golf clubs in size and contour are accommodated by the flexible nature of the resilient securing device.

Hsu et al, U.S. Pat. No. 5,803,252, provide a systematic iron golf club hanger device which can firmly clamp golf clubs in positions and prevent them from being damaged by collision among themselves, which also allow golf clubs to be taken out and put in quickly, which accommodates the different sizes of bags for golf clubs available on the market during the period in which the patent was filed.

Wick, U.S. Pat. No. 5,617,951, disclose a golf bag club organizer for holding golf club irons in a fixed and orderly array, and for keeping the clubs in place even when the bag is inverted. The golf club organizer provides a first bracket carrying seven forks, each fork having two dissimilar pongs that grasp the head of a golf club iron, keeping the golf club fixed in place.

Lueders, U.S. Pat. No. 5,772,024, provide a golf club organizer for a golf bag with the plurality of flexible tubes for receiving respective golf club shafts and grips. The golf club organizer includes both an upper plate and a base plate sized to form a top and bottom for a golf bag. The upper plate can be formed by molding a base plate with cylindrical apertures and tabs formed thereon. The base plate is then over molded with a layer of resilient material which forms around the apertures to yield the tapered through bores.

Yang, U.S. Pat. No. 5,755,322, relates a club spacer assembly securing to the flange of an opening in the golf bag comprising various types of brackets to position golf clubs orderly manner and fit clubs with various sizes and lengths (about three kinds). The prior invention is composed of three different brackets connecting together in swing joint that adjust to fit clubs with the varied size of bag. The bottom portions of the three brackets extend down with several joiners for catching the edge of the bag and the internal struts firmly. The height of the three brackets and the shape of the retainers vary in size to fit with varied clubs.

Shin, U.S. Pat. No. 5,950,825, is a golf club divider assembly for retaining a plurality of golf clubs in an orderly, secure and segregated fashion. A skeletal outer frame has a predetermined height and is of a generally polygonal, preferably rectangular, shape in cross section. The outer frame is defined by a hollow interior and is supported upon a pedestal base which defines a closed bottom.

Disadvantage of the Prior Art

1. The prior art references cited above are restricted to retaining a plurality of golf iron clubs. The iron golf clubs usually consist of the 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and wedges. The trend in golf today is to replace many of the iron clubs with fairway metal and hybrid metal clubs. The golf club organizers references cited are not made to accommodate the size and configuration of fairway metal and hybrid metal clubs.

2. The prior art references cited above have a group of compartments, brackets, rows or clips for retaining and positioning a plurality of golf iron clubs on a single base. The prior art references cited configuration limit the space that can be utilized within the golf bag.

3. Although the prior art references cited separate the iron golf clubs, in an orderly manner, the prior art references cited does not protect the head of the iron club from damage when the iron clubs are being transported, stored or used in a round of golf.

4. In prior art references cited the golf club organizer attaches to the rim of the golf bag and each golf club is well above the rim, which mean that most of the butt of iron clubs does not rest on the golf bag's floor. This will allow the shaft of the iron golf club to dangle in the air and can collide with other clubs.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

The Objectives of the Present Invention

1. First, combine the first part, the one-piece clip and the second part, the one-piece head cover so that both function as a single unit that serves a dual purpose. Second, secure and segregate in an organizer manner each golf club when placed in the golf bag. Third, protect the club's head from damage when the being transported, stored or used in a round of golf.

Achievement of the Objectives of the Present Invention

1. The present invention is a stand alone device, allowing the golfer the option of placing and spacing each golf club in the golf bag at his own discretion.

2. The first part, the one-piece clip can be placed on the crossbar and/or rim of the golf bag, thereby maximizing the use of the space in the golf bag.

3. The attachment of the first part, the one-piece clip and the second part, the one-piece head cover adjusts to the various lengths of each golf club within the golf club set, allowing the butt of each golf club to rest on the floor of the golf bag.

4. The attachment of the first part, the one-piece clip and the second part, the one-piece head cover minimize the rotation of each golf club, thereby preventing the golf clubs from colliding with each other within the golf bag.

5. The clip located in the interior of the second part, the one-piece head cover embrace the hosel of the golf club, thereby minimizing the rotation of the golf club head within the head cover and allowing the zipper to remain in the open position without the golf club falling out of the second part, the one-piece head cover.

6. The combined first part, the one-piece clip and the second part, the one-piece head cover minimizes the loss of the second part, one-piece head cover because the head cover is attached to the first part, one-piece clip, which is attached to the golf bag.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

As required, detailed embodiments of the present invention is disclosed herein. It is to be understood that the disclosed embodiment are merely exemplary of the present invention, which may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific structural and functional details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but merely as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to variously employ the present invention in an appropriately detailed structure.

With reference to FIGS 1 and 2, 100, 200 display a golf club organizer constructed in accordance with principles of the present invention as seen. 100, 200 upper portion show a second part, one-piece head cover that consist of number 106, 206 zipper, 112, 212 stabilizing rod, and 114, 214 clips. 112, 212 stabilizing rod is embedded in the interior of the one-piece head cover. 112, 212 stabilizing rod start at the upper top portion of 106, 206 second part, one-piece head cover that houses golf club's head opposite the 106, 206 zipper and rest on the neck of 106, 206 second part, one-piece head cover and extend outside of the 106, 206 second part, one-piece head cover. 117, 217 and 119, 219 display the present invention golf club organizer's first part one-piece clip. 117, 217 slide over and grasp the golf bag's crossbar or golf bag's rim. FIG. 1, 119 female joint comprises an outer perimeter with one or more angles. 119 female joint allow the penetration of 112 stabilizing rod for the purpose of joining together the first part, one-clip and the second part, one-piece head cover to function as a single unit to serve the dual purposes of securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf clubs when placed in a golf bag and protecting the head of the golf club from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored, and used in a round of golf.

FIG. 2, 219 sleeve allow the 200 upper portion second part head cover's 212 stabilizing rod to slide into its 219 sleeve interior for the purpose of joining together the first part, one-piece clip and the second part, one-piece head cover to function as a single unit to serve the dual purposes of securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf clubs when placed in a golf bag and protecting the head of the golf club from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored, and used in a round of golf.

FIG. 3, perspective side view 300, being the second part, one-piece head cover, 308 being the hood fastener, which extend down the neck of the 300 second part, one-piece head cover, which house the golf club head and a part of the golf shaft. 310 being the loop fastener which is attached to 317 the first part one-piece clip which is capable of sliding over and grasping the golf bag's cross bar or golf bag's rim. 308 hood fastener and 310 loop fastener connect to allow the first part, one-piece clip and the second part, one-piece head cover to join together to function as a single unit. 306 is that portion of the 300 second part, one-piece head cover to house the golf club head.

FIG. 4, 400 second part, one-piece head cover's 412 stabilizing bar rest on the interior of the neck of the 400 second part, one-piece head cover. Attached to the 412 stabilizing bar are the 414 clips, the upper clip attach to the hosel or upper part of the golf shaft and the second clip attach to the golf shaft. The clips keep the golf club in a fix position and minimize movement within the golf bag. 417 the first part, one-piece clip which is capable of sliding over and grasping the golf bag's cross bar or golf bag's rim is connected to 400 second part, one-piece head cover with loop and hood fastener. 406 is that portion of the 400 second part, one-piece head cover to house the golf club head.

FIG. 5, the explode view shows 310 head of the golf club embodied in the 300 upper portion of the present invention's second part, one-piece head cover. 314 clips are permanently bound to 312 stabilizing rod. 314 upper clip cradles the hosel or upper portion of the 309 golf club shaft. 314 lower clip cradles the lower portion of the 309 golf club shaft. 317 present invention first part, one-piece clip sliding over and grasping 310 golf bag's crossbar or golf bag's rim. The present invention golf club organizer have three options of engaging the 317 first part one-piece clip and the 300 second part one-piece head cover for the intended purpose of functioning as a single unit to serve the dual role of securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf clubs when placed in a 320 golf bag and protecting the head of the golf club from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored, and used in a round of golf.

The Three Methods of Engaging are:

1. The 317 first part,one-piece's clip's 319 female joint comprising an outer perimeter with one or more angles allow the penetration of 312 stabilizing rod for the purpose of joining together the first part, one-piece clip and the second part, one-piece head cover

2. The 317 first part, one-piece clip's 319 sleeve allow the 300 second part one-piece head cover's 312 stabilizing rod to slide into its 310 first part, one-piece clips sleeve interior for the purpose of joining together the first part, one-piece clip and the second part one-piece head cover

3. The 317 first part, one-piece clips loops are temporarily bonded to the 300 second part, one-piece head cover's 312 stabilizing rod hoods.

Claims

1. A golf club organizer comprising a first part and a second part, wherein first part being a one-piece clip comprising: (a) loop fastener, or (b) a female joint or (c) a sleeve; said one-piece clip capable of sliding over and grasping a golf bag's crossbar or golf bag's rim, said second part being a one-piece head cover comprising a stabilizing rod with or without hood fastener, clips and zipper, said first part, one-piece clip and said second part, one-piece head cover is capable of joining together to function as a single unit to serve the purposes of securing and segregating in an organized manner, the golf clubs when placed in a golf bag and protecting the head of the golf club from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored, and used in a round of golf.

2. The golf club organizer of claim 1, wherein the first part, one-piece clip construction is made of: (a) a durable, but flexible plastic that can be adjusted to slide over and grasp both sides of a crossbar or rim of the golf bag for a snug fit or (b) a durable, but flexible lightweight metal that can be adjusted to slide over and grasp both sides of a crossbar or rim of the golf bag for a snug fit.

3. The golf club organizer of claim 1, wherein the first part, one-piece clip comprising (a) loop fastener, which is permanently bonded to the front of the first part, one-piece clip, which can temporarily bond to the second part, one-piece head cover hood fastener, with the loop and hood fasteners are of the grade and strength that when the golf club is placed in the second part, one-piece head cover, the golf club will remain in a stationary position, secured and segregated in an organized manner when placed in the golf bag.

4. The golf club organizer of claim 1, wherein the first part, one-piece clip comprising (b) a female joint made of same material as the first part, one-piece clip and comprise an outer perimeter with one or more angles, said female joint allow the penetration of the second part, one-piece head cover male stabilizing rod to serve the purpose of securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf clubs when placed in a golf bag.

5. The golf club organizer of claim 1, wherein the first part, one-piece clip comprising (c) a sleeve made of: (a) a synthetic material selected from the group consisting of synthetic rubber, plastic and vinyl or (b) a natural material such as rubber or leather, said (c) sleeve allow the second part, one piece head cover male stabilizing rod to slide into its first part, one piece clip interior for the purpose of securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf clubs when placed in a golf bag.

6. The golf club organizer of claim 1, wherein the second part, one-piece head cover comprises: (a) or (b) or (c) or any combination of (a), (b) and (c), in which (a) being a natural material such as leather or rubber, (b) being a synthetic material selected from the group consisting of synthetic, rubber, plastic and vinyl, (c) being a fabric material selected from the group of woven, knits or felts and the second part head cover being flexible and capable of maintaining its shape when the golf club is placed inside and is contoured to accommodate the shape of a golf club head.

The golf club organizer and golf club head cover of claim 1, wherein the second part, one-piece head cover, comprises a stabilizing rod that is embedded in the interior of the head cover, said stabilizing rod start at the upper top portion that houses golf club head opposite the zipper and rest on the neck of the head cover and extend outside of the head cover to penetrate the (a) female joint of first part one-piece clip or slide through the (b) sleeve of the first part, one-piece clip or (c) allow the hood fastener on the stabilizing rod to attach to the loop fastener on the second part, one-piece clip.

8. The golf club organizer of claim 7, wherein the second part, one-piece head cover stabilizing rod is embedded on the exterior of the head cover, said stabilizing rod starts at the outside upper top portion that houses golf club head opposite the zipper to extend outside the head cover to penetrate the (a) female joint of first part, one- piece clip or slide through the (b) sleeve of the first part, one-piece clip or (c) allow the hood fastener on the stabilizing rod to attach to the loop fastener on the first part, one-piece clip

9. The golf club organizer of claim 7, wherein the second part, one-piece head cover stabilizing rod is embedded in the first part, one-piece head cover with: (a) an adhesive sealant that permanently bonds the stabilizing rod to the head cover or (b) rivet to hold together the head cover to the stabilizing rod or (c) loop and hood fasteners or (d) a combination of (a), (b) and (c).

10. The golf club organizer of claim 9, wherein the second part, one-piece head cover rivets comprise: (a) metal or (b) plastic.

11. The golf club organizer of claim 7, wherein the second part, one-piece head cover stabilizing rod comprises a hood fastener that is permanently affixed to that part of the stabilizing rod that extend outside of the head cover to attach to the loop fastener on first part, one-piece clip to: (a) function as a single unit when the second part, one-piece clip is grasping the crossbar and/or rim of the golf bag, (b) securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf club when placed in the golf bag and (c) protect the golf club head from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored and used in a round of golf.

12. The golf club organizer of claim 11, wherein the hood fastener is permanently affixed to exterior of the neck of the second part, one-piece head cover to attach to the loop fastener on the first part, one-piece clip to: (a) function as a single unit when the second part one-piece clip is grasping the crossbar and/or rim of the golf bag, (b) securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf club when placed in the golf bag and (c) protect the golf club head from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored and used in a round of golf.

13. The golf club organizer of claim 7, wherein the first part, one-piece head cover stabilizing rod is capable of penetrating the female joint or sliding through the sleeve of the second part, one-piece clip to: (a) function as a single unit when the second part one-piece clip is grasping the crossbar and/or rim of the golf bag, (b) securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf club when placed in the golf bag and (c) protect the golf club head from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored and used in a round of golf.

14. The golf club organizer of claim 7, wherein the first part, one-piece head cover stabilizing rod slide through the sleeve or female joint of the second part, one-piece clip to: (a) function as a single unit when the second part, one-piece clip is grasping the crossbar and/or rim of the golf bag, (b) securing and segregating in an organized manner the golf club when placed in the golf bag and (c) protect the golf club head from damage when the golf clubs are being transported, stored and used in a round of golf.

15. The golf club organizer of claim 7, wherein the second part, one-piece head cover stabilizing rod comprise: (a) light durable plastic or (b) light durable metal.

16. The golf club organizer of claim 1, wherein the second part, one-piece head cover comprise clips made of a durable plastic that is resilient enough to allow easy exit of the golf club but capable of securing the golf club in place when returned to the golf bag and said clips are located: (a) one on the upper portion of the stabilizing rod to secure the hosel or upper portion of the golf shaft and (b) one on the lower portion of the stabilizing rod to secure the shaft of the golf club in a fixed position.
